ಆತ್ಮೀಯ ಸಚಿನ್,
ನನಗೆ ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಬೇಸರವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೆರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಆಡಿದರೂ ಏಕಾಂಗಿಯಾಗಿ ನೀನು ಪಂದ್ಯ ಗೆಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಜನ ಇಂದಿಗೂ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಭಾರತೀಯ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ತಂಡದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನಲ್ಲದೆ ಇನ್ನೂ 10 ಆಟಗಾರರಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನೇ ನಾವು ಮರೆಯುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಕಳೆದ 5 ವಿಶ್ವಕಪ್ ಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ನೀನು ರನ್ ಮಷೀನ್ ನಂತೆ 60ರ ಸರಾಸರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಕೋರ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀಯ. ಮೊನ್ನೆ ಕೂಡ ಉಳಿದವರೆಲ್ಲ ಪಂದ್ಯವನ್ನು ಲಘುವಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡರೆ, ಬೇಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿತನ ತೋರಿದರೆ ನೀನು ಮಾತ್ರ 111 ರನ್ ಹೊಡೆಯುವ ಮೂಲಕ ನಿನ್ನ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾಬೀತು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀಯ. ಕೆಲವರು ಕ್ಯಾಚ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಚೆಲ್ಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ, ಸಬ್ ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟ್ ಫೀಲ್ಡರ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಪಂದ್ಯದ ಮಧ್ಯೆಯೇ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿಯ ಮೊರೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ, ನೀನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಔಟ್ ಫೀಲ್ಡ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು ಬಾಲನ್ನು ಬೆನ್ನಟ್ಟುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ, ವಿಕೆಟ್ ಬಳಿ ಬೀಳುವಂತೆ ಎಸೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ.

ನೂರು ಕೋಟಿ ಭಾರತೀಯರ ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ದೇಶಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬೆವರು, ರಕ್ತ ಬಸಿಯುವುದರ ಮಹತ್ವ ಏನು ಎಂಬುದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅವರ ಅರ್ಹತೆ, ಯೋಗ್ಯತೆ ಮೀರಿ ಹಣ, ಹೆಸರು ಬಂದುಬಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಗೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿರುವ ಖ್ಯಾತಿ, ಕಾಸಿಗೂ ಹೊಂದಾಣಿಕೆಯೇ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಚಿನ್, 1989, ಅಂದರೆ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಗೆ ಪದಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಟಾಮ್ ಆಲ್ಟರ್ ಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಸಂದರ್ಶನದ ವೇಳೆ ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು ನಿನಗೇ ನೆನಪಿದೆಯಾ?

ಸಚಿನ್, ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಚ್ಚಿಡಲು ನನಗಿಷ್ಟವಿಲ್ಲ. ಖಂಡಿತ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ನೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಆಟಗಾರನಲ್ಲ! ಇಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ನೆಚ್ಚಿನ, ಅಚ್ಚುಮೆಚ್ಚಿನ ವಿಷಯ ಎದುರಾಗುವುದು ಮನುಷ್ಯ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ನಡುವೆಯಷ್ಟೇ!! ಆ ದೇವರನ್ನು ನಾವು ಆರಾಧಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ, ಮೇಲ್ಪಂಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅತ್ಯಾಶ್ಚರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ದಿಟ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ!!! ಈ ಭಾರಿಯ ವಿಶ್ವಕಪ್ ಅನ್ನು ಗೆದ್ದುಕೊಡುವಂತೆ ನಾವು ಸಚಿನ್ ನಿಂದ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಉಳಿದ ಆಟಗಾರರ ಕೆಲಸವೇನು? ಅವರ ಕೆಲಸ ಡ್ರೆಸ್ಸಿಂಗ್ ರೂಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ “ಲುಡೋ” ಆಟವಾಡುವುದಾ? ವಿಶ್ವಕಪ್ ಟೂರ್ನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡುವುದಷ್ಟೇ ತಮ್ಮ ಕೆಲಸವಲ್ಲ, ಗೆಲ್ಲಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ತಂಡದ ಉಳಿದವರು ಅದಷ್ಟು ಬೇಗ ಅರಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆಂದು ಅಶಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಗಮನಿಸಿ: ಇದೇ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಅಫ್ರಿಕಾದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ 1992ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋಲ್ಕತಾದ ಈಡನ್ ಗಾರ್ಡನ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ‘ಹೀರೋ ಕಪ್ ‘ ಸೆಮಿಫೈನಲ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊನ್ನೆಯಂಥದ್ದೇ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಕಡೆಯ ಓವರ್ ನ 6 ಬಾಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗೆಲ್ಲಲು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಆಫ್ರಿಕಾಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಿದ್ದಿದು ಕೇವಲ 6 ರನ್. ದೈತ್ಯ ದಾಂಡಿಗ ಬ್ರಿಯಾನ್ ಮ್ಯಾಕ್ ಮಿಲನ್ ಬ್ಯಾಟ್ ಹಿಡಿದು ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ. ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಓವರ್ ಕೊಡುವುದು ಎಂದು ಚಿಂತಿತರಾಗಿದ್ದ ನಾಯಕ ಅಜರುದ್ದೀನ್ ಅವರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಾಲು ಕಸಿದುಕೊಂಡ ಸಚಿನ್, ಇಡೀ ದೇಶವೇ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯಿಂದ ಬೀಗುವಂಥ ಬೌಲಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಗೆಲುವು ತಂದುಕೊಟ್ಟ. ಆ ಓವರ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಆತ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು ಕೇವಲ 3 ರನ್. ಎದೆಗಾರಿಕೆ, ಶೌರ್ಯ ಏನೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಅರಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕಾದರೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಟೀಮ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ ಆಟಗಾರರು ಆ ಓವರನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ನೋಡಬೇಕು.
ಸಚಿನ್, ಮುಂಬೈನ ವಾಂಖೆಡೆ ಮೈದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಫೈನಲ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತ ಗೆಲ್ಲುತ್ತದೆಂದು ಆಶಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ಶತಕೋಟಿ ಭಾರತೀಯರು ಅವಮಾನದಿಂದ ತಲೆತಗ್ಗಿಸಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಕ್ಷಮೆ ಕೇಳಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಒಂದೆಡೆ, ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 12ರಂದು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಅಫ್ರಿಕಾ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಭಾರತದ ಬ್ಯಾಟ್ಸ್ ಮನ್ ಗಳು ತರಗೆಲೆಗಳಂತೆ ಉದುರಿ ಸೋತಾಗ ಖ್ಯಾತ ಬ್ಯಾಟ್ಸ್ ಮನ್ ಸಚಿನ್ ತೆಂಡೂಲ್ಕರ್ ಅವರ ಕಟ್ಟಾ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಬರೆದ ಇಂಥದ್ದೊಂದು ಫೇಸ್ಬುಕ್, ಆರ್ಕುಟ್ ಮುಂತಾದ ಸೋಷಿಯಲ್ ವೆಬ್ ಸೈಟ್ ಗಳು, ಬ್ಲಾಗ್, ಇಂಟರ್ ನೆಟ್ ನ ತುಂಬೆಲ್ಲ ಹರಿದಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇನ್ನೊಂದೆಡೆ ಸಚಿನ್ ಸೆಂಚುರಿ ಹೊಡೆದಾಗಲೆಲ್ಲ ಭಾರತ ಸೋಲುತ್ತೆ ಎಂಬ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಕೇಳಿಬರುತ್ತಿವೆ.
ಇದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಕೃತಘ್ನತೆ, ಸಿನಿಕತೆ, ತಿಳಿಗೇಡಿತನ ಇನ್ನೇನಾದರೂ ಇರಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೆ? ಇಂತಹ ಮಾತು, ಅರೋಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಜಾಂಶವೇನಾದರೂ ಇದೆಯೇ?
ಸಚಿನ್ ಇದುವರೆಗೂ 48 ಏಕದಿನ ಶತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಬಾರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ 33 ಶತಕಗಳು ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಗೆಲುವು ತಂದುಕೊಟ್ಟಿವೆ. ಹದಿಮೂರು ಬಾರಿ ಭಾರತ ಸೋತಿದೆ. ಒಂದು ಪಂದ್ಯ ಯಾವುದೇ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಟೈ ಅಗಿದೆ. ಐವತ್ತೊಂದು ಟೆಸ್ಟ್ ಶತಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 20 ಬಾರಿ ಭಾರತ ಗೆದ್ದಿದೆ. 12 ಪಂದ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋಲುಂಟಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ 19 ಶತಕಗಳು ಪಂದ್ಯವನ್ನು ಡ್ರಾ ಮಾಡಿಸಿವೆ. ಎಲ್ಲಕ್ಕೂ ಮಿಗಿಲಾಗಿ, ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಎಂಬುದು ಸಾಂಘಿಕ ಆಟವಾಗಿರುವಾಗ ಇದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ದಾಖಲೆ ಇನ್ನೇನಿರಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ? ಇಂದಿನ ತಲೆಮಾರಿಗೆ ಸಚಿನ್ ಆಟ ಸ್ಫೋಟಕವಾಗಿ, ಗ್ಲಾಮರಸ್ ಆಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸದೇ ಇರಬಹುದು. ಆದರೆ 20ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದ ಕಡೆಯ ದಶಕವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದವರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಗೊತ್ತು ಸಚಿನ್ ಅಟದ ಸವಿ. ಇಂಚುಪಟ್ಟಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಗೆರೆ ಎಳೆದಂತೆ ಹೊಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಟ್ರೈಟ್ ಡ್ರೈವ್ ಗಳು, ಆ ಬ್ಯಾಕ್ ಫುಟ್ ಪಂಚ್, ಬ್ಯಾಕ್ ಫುಟ್ ಹುಕ್… ಅಹಾ! ತನ್ನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಲಘುವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡ್ ಬೌಲರ್ ಕ್ಯಾಡಿಕ್್ಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಕ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಹೊಡೆದಿದ್ದನ್ನು, ಜಿಂಬಾಬ್ವೆಯ ಹೆನ್ರಿ ಓಲಾಂಗೋ, ಆಸ್ಟ್ರೇಲಿಯಾದ ಕ್ಯಾಸ್ಪರೋವಿಚ್ ಗೆ ಬಾರಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಮರೆಯಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೆ? ಒಂದಿಡೀ ತಲೆಮಾರನ್ನೇ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದ, ಇಡೀ ದೇಶವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನೇ ಮಂತ್ರಮುಗ್ಧವಾಗಿಸಿದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಸಚಿನ್. ಇವತ್ತು ಸಚಿನ್ ಆಟ ಅಬ್ಬರದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿಲ್ಲದೇ ಇರಬಹುದು. ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಅಬ್ಬರದ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬಿದ್ದರೆ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಅಫ್ರಿಕಾದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಆದಂತೆ 29 ರನ್ ಗೆ 9 ವಿಕಟ್ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾಗಿಬರಬಹುದು! ಇರಲಿ, ಇವತ್ತು ಸಚಿನ್ ಆಟ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಅಕರ್ಷಣೆ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಕಾರಣವಿದೆ. ಆ ಮನಮೋಹಕ ಬ್ಯಾಕ್ ಫುಟ್ ಪಂಚ್, ಬ್ಯಾಕ್ ಫುಟ್ ಹುಕ್ ಗಳೇ ತನ್ನ ಬೆನ್ನುನೋವಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣ ಎಂದು ಗೊತ್ತಾದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅಡುವ ಪರಿಯನ್ನೇ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಇಷ್ಟಾಗಿಯೂ ಆತನ ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ರನ್ ಗಳಿಕೆಗೆ ಯಾವತ್ತೂ ಕೊರತೆ ಬೀಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಬ್ಬರದ ಬ್ಯಾಟಿಂಗ್ ನಮಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗಬಹುದು. ಅದರೆ ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ ಲೆಕ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವುದು ಗೆಲುವು ಮಾತ್ರ. ಅಂತಹ ಗೆಲುವಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದೆ ರಾಹುಲ್ ದ್ರಾವಿಡ್ ಆಡುತಿದ್ದ, ಈಗ ಸಚಿನ್ ತೋರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪ್ರಬುದ್ಧ ಆಟ ಬಹುಮುಖ್ಯ. ಏಕದಿನ ಪಂದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಾದರೂ 200 ರನ್ ಬಾರಿಸುವುದಾದರೆ ಅದು ಸೆಹವಾಗ್ ನಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸಾಧ್ಯ ಎಂಬ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದವನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಸಚಿನ್. ಮೂವತ್ತೇಳರ ಪ್ರಾಯದಲ್ಲೂ ಏಕದಿನ ಪಂದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ 200 ರನ್ ಗಳಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆಂದರೆ ಸಚಿನ್ ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯಿಂದ ಆಡುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅತನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂತಹ ಅತೀವ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿದೆ, ದೇಶಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಆಡುವಾಗ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಬಹಾದ್ದೂರಿಕೆ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕಿಂತ ತಾಳ್ಮೆ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಆತ ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂಬುದ ಗಮನಿಸಿ. ಸಚಿನ್ ಗೂ ಇತರ ಆಟಗಾರರಿಗೂ ಇರುವ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸವೇ ಇದು. ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಆಫ್ರಿಕಾ ವಿರುದ್ಧ 267 ರನ್ ಗೆ 1 ವಿಕೆಟ್, 295ಕ್ಕೆ ಆಲೌಟ್. 29 ರನ್್ಗಳಿಗೆ 9 ವಿಕೆಟ್ ಪತನ. ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ ಪಂದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋಲು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆಲ್ಲ ಸಚಿನ್ ನನ್ನು ದೂರುವುದು ಎಷ್ಟು ಸರಿ?

ಅದು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದಕ್ಕೋ, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯಯದಕ್ಕೋ, ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಐಪಿಎಲ್ ಉಚ್ಛ್ರಾಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಕೂಡ ಮನರಂಜನೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ನೋಡುವವರು, ಅಡುವವರು ಇಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ತಾಳ್ಮೆ ಇಲ್ಲದಾಗಿದೆ. ಅತ್ಯಂತ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ರನ್ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು, ಬರೀ ಫೋರ್, ಸಿಕ್ಸರ್ ಗಳೇ ಇರಬೇಕು. ಜನರ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಒಂದೇ ಪಂದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೀರೋ ಅಗಿಬಿಡಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಆಟಗಾರರ ಮಹತ್ವಾಕಾಂಕ್ಷೆಗಳು ತಾಳ್ಮೆಗೆಡಿಸಿ ಆತುರತೆ ಮೈಗೂಡುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿವೆ. ಹಾಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯ ತಂಡದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಹುತೇಕರ ಕಥೆ ಇದೇ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಬರೀ ಸ್ಪಿನ್ನರ್ ಗಳಿಗಷ್ಟೇ ಬಾರಿಸುವ ಯೂಸುಫ್ ಪಠಾಣ್ ಕೂಡ ದೊಡ್ಡ ದಾಂಡಿಗ. ಹರಭಜನ್ ಗೆ ಏಜ್ ಆದರೂ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತ ಆಟ ಮೈಗೂಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕಳೆದ 10 ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಆಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ ಯುವರಾಜ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಗೆ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ, ಪ್ರಬುದ್ಧತೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ ಇದ್ದರೂ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾರ್ಹ ಬ್ಯಾಟ್ಸ್ ಮನ್ ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಜಹೀರ್ ಖಾನ್ ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ ಭಾರತ ತಂಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಗ್ಯ ಬೌಲರ್ ಗಳೇ ಇಲ್ಲದಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಒಂದೊಂದು ದೌರ್ಬಲ್ಯಗಳು ಒಂದೊಂದು ಪಂದ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಫಲಿತಾಂಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಹಾಗಿರುವಾಗ ಸಚಿನ್ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನೇ ಪೂರ್ವಗ್ರಹದಿಂದ ದೂರುವುದು ಎಷ್ಟು ಸರಿ?
‘’ಸಚಿನ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸೆಹವಾಗ್ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಅಫ್ರಿಕಾದ ಬೌಲರ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಗ್ಗಾಮುಗ್ಗ ಚಚ್ಚುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಗೊತ್ತಾಯಿತು. ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲೇ ಮನೆಗೆ ಧಾವಿಸಿ ಟೀವಿ ಆನ್ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಕಂಡಿದ್ದೇ ಬೇರೆ. ಒಂದು ಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ದಿಗ್ಭ್ರಮೆಯಾಯಿತು. ಇದೇನು ಬ್ಯಾಟ್ಸ್ ಮನ್ ಗಳ Ramp ಶೋ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆಯಾ ಎಂದನಿಸಿತು. ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರ ಕರತಾಡನ ನಡುವೆ ಬ್ಯಾಟ್ ಝಳಪಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಪಿಚ್ ನತ್ತ ಆಗಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಬ್ಯಾಟ್ಸ್ ಮನ್ ಗಳು ಫ್ಯಾಶನ್ ಶೋನಂತೆ ಒಂದು ಕ್ಷಣ ನಿಂತು ಬ್ಯಾಟು ತೋರಿ ಒಬ್ಬರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಒಬ್ಬರು ಪೆವಿಲಿಯನ್ ನತ್ತ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಯಾರ್ಕರ್ ಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಾದಿಡ್ಡಿ ಬ್ಯಾಟು ಬೀಸಿದ ಹರಭಜನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್, ಹಾರಿ ಹೋದ ವಿಕೆಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ನೋಡದೆಯೇ, ಯಾವ ಹಾವಭಾವ ತೋರದೆಯೇ ಪೆವಿಲಿಯನ್ ನತ್ತ ದಾಪುಗಾಲಿಟ್ಟರು. ಈ ನಾಚಿಕೆಗೇಡಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಜಾಹೀರಾತಿನಿಂದ ಹಣ ಹರಿದು ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ದೇಶ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಐಪಿಎಲ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರೀ ದುಡ್ಡು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ವರ್ಲ್ಡ್ ಕಪ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾಕೆ ಮೈ ಕೈ ನೋಯಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಗಾಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು?’’ ಹಾಗೆಂದು ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು ಅಲವತ್ತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಎಂದೂ ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ದೂರದ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಬೌಲರ್ ಅಥವಾ ಬ್ಯಾಟ್ಸ್ ಮನ್ ಕಳಪೆಯಾಗಿ, ಬೇಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿತನದಿಂದ ಆಡಿ ತಂಡ ಸೋತಾಗಲೂ ಆ ಆಟಗಾರನನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಥಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ನಾಯಕ ಮಹೇಂದ್ರ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಧೋನಿಯೇ ಕುಪಿತಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Now here’s a man standing on the third man boundary in the last over of a world cup match. The bowler just has to bowl sensibly to win this game. What the man at the boundary sees is 4 rank bad bowls bowled without any sense of focus, planning or regret. India loses, yet again in those circumstances when he has done just about everything right.
He does not cry. Does not show any emotion. Just keeps his head down and leaves the field. He has seen these failures for 22 years now. And not just his class, relatives, friends but the whole world has seen these failures. We are too immature to even imagine what goes on in that mind and heart of his. That’s why I would never want to be Sachin.
True, he has single handedly lifted to moods of this entire nation umpteen number of times. He has been an inspiration to rise above our mediocrity. Nobody who has ever lifted the willow even comes close to this man’s genius. His dedication and metal strength is unparallel. This is specially for those people who would have made fun of him again last night when India lost. They are people who are mediocre in their own lives. Who just scoff at others to create cheap fun. Who have lived in a small hole throughout their lives and thought they have seen the oceans.
Think about the man himself. He is 37 years of age. He has been playing almost non stop for 22 years. The way he was running and diving around the field last night would have put 22 year olds to shame. The way he played the best opening quickies in the world was breathtaking. He just keeps getting better which is by the way humanly impossible. Its not for nothing that people call him GOD.
But still I don’t want to be in those shoes. We struggle in keeping our monotonous lives straight, lives which affect a limited number of people. Imagine what would be the magnitude of the inner struggle for him, pain both mental and physical, tears that have frozen with time, knees and ankles and every other joint in the body that is either bandaged or needs to be attended to every night, eyes that don’t sleep before a big game, bats that have scored 99 international tons and still see expectations from a billion people.
And he just converts those expectations into reality. We watch in awe, feel privileged.
Well I think its time that his team realizes that enough is enough. They have an obligation, not towards their country alone but towards sachin. They need to win this one for him. Stay assured that he himself will still deliver and leave no stone unturned to make sure India wins this cup.
This is not just a game, and he is not just a sportsman. Its much more than this. Words fail here…..

I think winning world cup has gone into Sachin’s head. Go back 12 years Mr.GOD. You will realize who is best captain. 12 years back when you are struggling to perform as a captain of India and team was under continuous failure and facing match fixing controversies , Dada taken the responsibility of team as a captain and “SHOWN THE SPIRIT OF WINNING TO THE TEAM” and from then Indian team never looked back. Team went on creating histories in foreign soil. You would have become history 12 years back only if DADA didn’t trust you. Dont forget the root because of which you are here today. Even Dhoni has told tha**** is the chain of players because of whom we are in this position right now”. Ganguly made the worst team as Best team. Dhoni is achieving victories with that best team.Now tell me who is the best captain Mr. GOD?

If you put a black point on a white screen ask others “What is there?” they certailny say that there is a point, and they never say there is a white screen.
It’s also happened in case of sachin, he played well many times, scored crucual runs when the team need it. You are looking at those 13 ton’s in which India was unable to win and ignoring those 33 brilliant ton’s which carried india to the bank. In fact he is an opener so his perfomance decides whether it’s difficult or not. So there’s no meaning in your say “He never performed well, when India wanted him to play”.
Regarding Sachin’s opinion about Dhoni is unquestionable, he played under many captains and he know Who is better than whom?.
