ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರೇ,
ಏಕೋ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ‘ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ’ ಎಂದು ಸಂಬೋಧಿಸಲು ಮನಸ್ಸಾಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ‘ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ’ ಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಘನತೆ, ಪಾವಿತ್ರ್ಯತೆ, ಹಿರಿಯಣ್ಣನ ಹೃದಯ ವೈಶಾಲ್ಯತೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಅವ್ಯಾವುವೂ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪ ನವರೇ ಎಂದರೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸೂಕ್ತವಾದೀತು.
ನೀವು ಬರೀ ಶಾಸಕ, ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ನಾಯಕ, ಪ್ರತಿಪಕ್ಷ ನೇತಾರ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾ ಗಲೂ ಸಿಡುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದಿರಿ, ರೇಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಿರಿ, ಸಿಟ್ಟಿಗೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಿರಿ. ಆಗ ನಮಗೆ ಬೇಸರವಾಗುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಿಟ್ಟು ನಮಗೆ ಸಾತ್ವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಜನರಿಗೆ ಏನೋ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂಬ ತುಡಿತ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಎಂದೆನಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಹಾಗಾ ಗಿಯೇ ನಿಮಗೂ ಒಂದು ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಜನತೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆ ಸಮಯ ಕಳೆದ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್-ಮೇನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದಿತ್ತು. ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಕಾರಣವಾದ ಅಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ರೀತಿ ಪಟ್ಟಿಮಾಡ ಬಹುದು.
೧. ಕುಮಾರಸ್ವಾಮಿಯವರ ವಚನಭ್ರಷ್ಟತೆ.
೨. ವಚನಭ್ರಷ್ಟತೆಯಿಂದ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾದ ಬಹುಸಂಖ್ಯಾತ ಲಿಂಗಾ ಯತರ ಮತಗಳ ಧ್ರುವೀಕರಣ.
೩. ಈ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಪ್ರತಿ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯ ಸ್ಥಾನಗಳನ್ನು ೩೮, ೪೪, ೭೯ ಹೀಗೆ ಏರಿಸುತ್ತಲೇ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ಮತದಾರ ಇವರಿಗೂ ಒಂದು ಅವಕಾಶ ಕೊಡೋಣ ಎಂಬ ತೀರ್ಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದು.
೪. ಈ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯವರು ಭಾರಿ ಭಾರಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಏನೋ ಮಾಡಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರನ್ನೂ ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಟೆಸ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡೋಣ ಎಂಬ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ.
ಈ ಕಾರಣಗಳ ಬೆನ್ನೇರಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಗೆದ್ದು ಬಂತು. ಆದರೆ ೨೦೦೮, ಮೇ ೩೦ರಂದು ನೀವು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಈ ಮೇಲಿನ ನಾಲ್ಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಕಾರಣಗಳು ನೆಗೆದುಬಿದ್ದವು. ಅಂದರೆ ಕುಮಾರಸ್ವಾಮಿಯವರ ವಚನಭ್ರಷ್ಟತೆಗೆ ಮತದಾರ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟ. ೧೧೦ ಶಾಸಕರನ್ನು ಗೆಲ್ಲಿಸುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ‘ಬಿಜೆಪಿಗೂ ಒಂದು ಅವಕಾಶ ಕೊಡೋಣ’ ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೂ ತೆರೆಬಿತ್ತು. ನೀವು ಅಧಿಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಈಗ ೬ ತಿಂಗಳಾಗಿದೆ. ನೀವು ಅಧಿಕಾರಗ್ರಹಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲೇ ರೈತರ ಮೇಲೆ ಗೋಲಿಬಾರ್ ನಡೆಯಿತು, ರಸಗೊಬ್ಬರ ಸಿಗದೆ ಜನ ಹಾಹಾಕಾರ ಪಡುವಂತಾಯಿತು, ಸಚಿವಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಡೆದ ಪೈಪೋಟಿಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಪಕ್ಷದೊಳಗೇ ಅತೃಪ್ತಿ ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು, ಆ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಶಾಸಕರ ಖರೀದಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟಿರಿ. ಹೀಗೆ ಒಂದರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಒಂದು ತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಲೇ ಹೋದಿರಿ. ಆದರೆ ಜನ ಸಿಟ್ಟು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. “ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯವರ ಗ್ರಹಚಾರ ಸರಿಯಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವೇ ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಗೋಲಿಬಾರ್ ನಡೆದು ರೈತ ಸತ್ತಾಗಲೂ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್, ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್‌ನವರ ಕುತಂತ್ರವಿದು ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡು ಆ ತಪ್ಪನ್ನೂ ಮನ್ನಿಸಿದರು. ಮುಂಗಾರು ಕೈಕೊಟ್ಟಾಗ “ಪಾಪ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪ” ಎಂದು ಸುಮ್ಮನಾದರು.
ಅಂತಹ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಜನ ಮನ್ನಿಸುವ “ಹನಿಮೂನ್ ಪೀರಿಯಡ್” ಮುಗಿದು ಹೋಯಿತು.
ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ಭರವಸೆ, ಆಶಾಭಾವನೆ ಇಂದು ನುಚ್ಚುನೂರಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್, ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್‌ಗಿಂತ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯೇ ಕೀಳು ಎಂಬ ಭಾವನೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಮತಹಾಕಿದವರಲ್ಲೇ ಕೇಳಿಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ, ಉಡುಪಿ, ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದಂತಹ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಪ್ರಾಬಲ್ಯದ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲೇ ಜನ ಥೂ, ಛೀ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ‘ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯವರು ಏನೋ ಮಾಡಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಿ ದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರನ್ನೂ ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಟೆಸ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡೋಣ’ ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಮತದಾರನ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗೂ ಉತ್ತರ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದೆ. ಇನ್ನು ಉಳಿದಿರುವುದು ಒಂದೇ!
ನಿಮ್ಮ ಜಾತಿ.
ಕಳೆದ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಜಾತಿ’ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪರ ಎಷ್ಟು ಪ್ರಭಾವಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿತು ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಉದಾಹರಣೆ ಬೇಕಾ? ಇದುವರೆಗೂ ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗಳೂರು ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಿಂಗಾಯತ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು ಗೆದ್ದ ನಿದರ್ಶನವಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ೨೦೦೮ರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊಟ್ಟಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಲಿಂಗಾಯತ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು ಗೆಲುವು ಸಾಧಿಸುವಂತಹ ವಾತಾವರಣ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅಂದರೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಮರುವಿಂಗಡಣೆಯ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗಳೂರು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಮತದಾರರಲ್ಲಿ ಲಿಂಗಾಯತರ ಕೈ ಮೇಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಒಕ್ಕಲಿಗರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅದನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಹಾಕಿಯೇ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಲಿಂಗಾಯತ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಯನ್ನು ಕಣಕ್ಕಿಳಿಸಿತ್ತು. ೨೦೦೪ರಲ್ಲಿ ಗೆದ್ದು ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯ ಸಿ.ಟಿ. ರವಿ ಎಷ್ಟು ‘ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ’ ಹೆಸರು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೆಂದರೆ ಲಿಂಗಾಯತರೇನಾದರೂ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಬೇಕೆಂಬ ದೂರಾಲೋಚನೆಯಿಂದ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಗೆ ಮತಹಾಕದಿದ್ದರೆ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಗೆಲ್ಲುವುದು ನಿಶ್ಚಿತ ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸ ಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಊಹೆ ನಿಜವಾಯಿತು. ‘ನಮ್ಮವನು’ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಯಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮತಕೊಟ್ಟ ಕಾರಣ ರವಿ ಗೆದ್ದು ಬಂದರು. ಇಂತಹ ಜಾತಿ ಧ್ರುವೀಕರಣ ರಾಜ್ಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಅಲ್ಲಗಳೆಯಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಲಿಂಗಾಯತ, ಕುರುಬ ಜಾತಿಗಳ ಧ್ರುವೀಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ದೇವೇಗೌಡರ ಹೊಲಸು ರಾಜಕೀಯವೇ ಮುಖ್ಯಕಾರಣವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಆದರೆ ಗೆದ್ದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಮಂತ್ರಿಯನ್ನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ್ದು ತಪ್ಪಾ?
ಅಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ಲಿಂಗಾಯತ ಮತಗಳ ಧ್ರುವೀಕರಣದ ಜತೆಗೆ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಮತದಾರರೂ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಿ ದ್ದರಿಂದಲೇ ನೀವು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು. ಆಮೇಲೆ ನೀವು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನು? ಈಗ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದೇನು? ನಿಮ್ಮ ವರ್ಗಾವಣೆ ಹಗರಣವನ್ನೇ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಅದೆಷ್ಟು ಬಾರಿ ಪೊಲೀಸರ ವರ್ಗಾವಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ ಎಂದು ನೆನಪಿದೆಯೇ? ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಮಂದಿಯೆಲ್ಲ ಏಜೆಂಟರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಜನ ಆಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವರ್ಗಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಜಾತಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾನದಂಡ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು ಎಂದು ಜನ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹುರುಳಿಲ್ಲದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸುತ್ತ-ಮುತ್ತ ಇರುವವರನ್ನು ಒಮ್ಮೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗುತ್ತದೆ! ನಿವೃತ್ತಿ ವಯಸ್ಸನ್ನು ೬೦ಕ್ಕೇರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಆಡಳಿತದಲ್ಲಿ ದಕ್ಷತೆ ತರುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಎಂದು ಕಥೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಿರಲ್ಲಾ, ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ವರ್ಗಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಲಕ್ಷ ಲಕ್ಷ ಸುಲಿದು ಅವರಿಂದ ಹೇಗೆತಾನೇ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತೀರಿ?
ನಿಮ್ಮದು ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್‌ನಂತಹ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಪಕ್ಷವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಖಂಡಿತ ಜಾತಿ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ಎಳೆದು ತರುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. “ನಾವು ಹಿಂದು, ನಾವು ಒಂದು, ನಾವು ಬಂಧು” ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಣೆ ಹಾಕುವವರ ಪಕ್ಷ ನಿಮ್ಮದು. ಈ ದೇಶದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಒಂದಿಷ್ಟು ಕಾಳಜಿ, ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಮಧ್ಯಮವರ್ಗದವರೇ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಗರು ಎಂಬ ಹೆಗ್ಗಳಿಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಕ್ಷಕ್ಕಿದೆ. ಅಂತಹ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿ ದೇವೇಗೌಡರನ್ನು ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀರಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮಗೆ ಇದು ಶೋಭೆ ತರುವಂಥದ್ದೆ? ಒಂದು ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯನ್ನು ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ-ಧಾರವಾಡ ಕಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಭಾರತೀಯ ಜನಿವಾರ ಪಾರ್ಟಿ’ ಎಂದು ಜನ ಆಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಈಗ ಅದೇ ಜನ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯನ್ನು ‘ವಿಜೆಪಿ’(ವೀರಶೈವ ಜನತಾ ಪಾರ್ಟಿ) ಎಂದು ಜೋಕು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಸಾರ್.
ಇನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ರಂಪಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಪ್ರತಿಪಕ್ಷದವರು ಟೀಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ‘ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳು’ ಎಂದು ಹರಿಹಾಯುತ್ತೀರಿ. ಸಣ್ಣ ಸಣ್ಣದಕ್ಕೂ Excite ಆಗುತ್ತೀರಿ. ಸಣ್ಣಪುಟ್ಟ ಟೀಕೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಲು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೀರಿ. ಪ್ರತಿಪಕ್ಷದ ನಾಯಕನಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ನೀವು ವಾಚಾಮಗೋಚರವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಉಳಿದವರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮಂತೆಯೇ ವರ್ತಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ? ಟೀಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಭಾಯಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಭುದ್ಧತೆಯೇ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲಾ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ? ಜೋಕುಗಳಲ್ಲೇ ಬಾಯಿಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂಥ ಮಾರುತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಜೆ.ಎಚ್. ಪಟೇಲ್ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಜಾಣ್ಮೆ, ಬುದ್ಧಿ ವಂತಿಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೇನಂತೆ, ಎಸ್.ಎಂ. ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ನಯವಂತಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ರೂಢಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದಲ್ಲವೆ? ಕಾವೇರಿ ವಿವಾದ, ಗೋಲಿಬಾರ್ ಪ್ರಕರಣ, ರಾಜ್‌ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅಪ ಹರಣ, ರೈತರ ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆ, ಸತತ ಬರದಂತಹ ಗಂಭೀರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆನ್ನಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೂ ತಾಳ್ಮೆ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳದ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪೇನು? ಕುಮಾರಸ್ವಾಮಿಯವರಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲರೊಡನೆ ಬೆರೆಯುವ, ಇತರರ ನೋವನ್ನು ಆಲಿಸುವ ಸೌಜನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಲಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದಲ್ಲವೆ?
ಅಲ್ಲಾ, ಜನ ನಿಮಗೆ ವೋಟು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿರುವುದು ದೇವೇಗೌಡರು ಹಾಗೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಡುವಿನ ಬೀದಿ ಜಗಳವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಮಜಾ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾ? ನೀವು ದೇವೇಗೌಡರ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಾನನಷ್ಟ ಮೊಕದ್ದಮೆ ಹೂಡುವುದಾಗಲಿ, ದೇವೇಗೌಡರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಾನನಷ್ಟ ಮೊಕದ್ದಮೆ ಹಾಕುವುದಾಗಲಿ ತೀರಾ ನಗು ತರುವ ವಿಚಾರ. ಮಾನ ಇದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಅಂತಹ ಹಕ್ಕಿರುವುದು ಸ್ವಾಮಿ. ಇನ್ನು ಮಾತೆತ್ತಿದರೆ ಆ ತನಿಖೆಗೆ, ಈ ತನಿಖೆಗೆ ಆದೇಶ ನೀಡುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂತ ಏಕೆ ನೆಪ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಿ? ನುಣುಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಿ? ಅಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ತನಿಖೆಗಳ ಹಣೆಬರಹ ಎಂಥದ್ದು ಅಂತ ನಾಡಿನ ಮಹಾಜನತೆಗೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ. ಹಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ್ಯೂ ದೇವೇಗೌಡರು ಮತ್ತು ನೀವು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವನ್ನೇಕೆ ಗಬ್ಬೇಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಿ? ದೇವೇಗೌಡರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಬಾರಿ ಆರೋಪ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಯಾರೂ ನಂಬುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಡಿಪ್ಲೊಮಾ ಓದಿಕೊಂಡು ಮೋರಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ದೇವೇಗೌಡರು ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ಯಶೋಗಾಥೆಯನ್ನು ಜನ ಕಣ್ಣಾರೆ ಕಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಈಗ ಜನ ಯಾವ ಹಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದರೆ ಒಂದಿಷ್ಟು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಏನೂ ತಪ್ಪಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಮಾಫಿ ಮಾಡಿಬಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದೂ ಅಂತಹ ಮಾಫಿಯೇ. ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಹಿಡಿದಿರುವ ಹಾದಿ ಕಟ್ಟಾ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಗನೂ ಸಿಟ್ಟಿಗೇಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಜನಸಂಘ, ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಗಳು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕಕ್ಕೆ ತೀರಾ ಅಪರಿಚಿತವೆನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಳ್ಳಿ ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟು ಸೇರಿಸಿ ಭಗತ್ ಸಿಂಗ್, ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ ಆಜಾದ್, ಸಾವರ್ಕರ್, ಸುಭಾಷ್‌ಚಂದ್ರ ಬೋಸ್, ಮದನ್ ಲಾಲ್ ಧಿಂಗ್ರಾ ಮುಂತಾದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಕಲಿಗಳ ಕಥೆ ಹೇಳಿ, ದೇಶದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅಭಿಮಾನ ಮೂಡಿಸಿ, ಶಾಖೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿ ಆ ಮೂಲಕ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯ ಪರಿಚಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟು ಪಕ್ಷ ನೆಲೆಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸ್ವಯಂ ಸೇವಕ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಏನಂದುಕೊಂಡಾನು ಎಂದು ಯಾವತ್ತಾದರೂ ಯೋಚಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಾ? ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕರು ತತ್ತ್ವ, ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತದ ಮೇಲೆ ಪಕ್ಷ ಕಟ್ಟಿದರೆ, ಶಾಮ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಮುಖರ್ಜಿ, ದೀನದಯಾಳ್ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಾಯರು ಪಕ್ಷದ ದಾರಿ ದೀವಿಗೆಯಾದರು. ಇವತ್ತು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಸಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲ ಅಂತಹ ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತವಾದಿ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಸದಸ್ಯ ರಾಗಬಹುದು, ಎಂಎಲ್‌ಎ ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಮಂತ್ರಿ ಗಳಾಗಬಹುದು ಎಂದಾದರೆ ಆ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕನ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಪ್ರeಗೆ ಎಂತಹ ಹೊಡೆತ ಬೀಳಬಹುದು ಸ್ವಾಮಿ.
ಅದಿರಲಿ, ಏಕೆ ದೇವೇಗೌಡರಂತೆ ದ್ವೇಷದ ರಾಜಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕೈಹಾಕಿದ್ದೀರಿ?
ಎಂ.ಪಿ. ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಅವರು, ಹೂವಿನ ಹಡಗಲಿಗೆ ಮಂಜೂರು ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಕಾಲೇಜನ್ನು ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿಗೆ ವರ್ಗಾವಣೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಸಣ್ಣತನವೇಕೆ? ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಗಳಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಮೂಲಭೂತಸೌಕರ್ಯಗಳಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ನೆಪವನ್ನೇಕೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀರಿ? ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಎರಡು ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳಿವೆ. ಹಾಗಿರುವಾಗ ಹೂವಿನ ಹಡಗಲಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ಮೂಲಭೂತಸೌಕರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸುಧಾರಣೆ ಮಾಡಬಹುದಿತ್ತಲ್ಲವೆ? ಸರಕಾರಿ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಬರುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಯಾವ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೆಲಸವೂ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಿದ್ದಾಗ್ಯೂ, ಆ ರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಸಹೋದರರ ತಾಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಣಿಯುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದಿರಿ.
ನಿಮ್ಮ ‘ಗುಣಗಾನ’ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಹೋದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪುಟಗಳೂ ಭರ್ತಿಯಾದಾವು. ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಆತಂಕ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುವ ಸಂಗತಿ ಯೆಂದರೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ನಾಲ್ಕೂವರೆ ವರ್ಷ ಗುಣಗಾನ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆಯೇನೋ ಎಂಬ ಭಯ!!
ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮ್ಯಾಜಿಕ್ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರಿ ಎಂದು ಯಾರೂ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಅಥವಾ ಮ್ಯಾಜಿಕ್ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಿತ್ತು ಎಂದೂ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನಾದರೂ ಆರಂಭಿಸ ಬಹುದಿತ್ತಲ್ಲವೆ? ರೈತರಿಗೆ ಉಚಿತ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಆಶ್ವಾಸನೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೋ ಸರಿ, ಆದರೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸುಮಾರು ೧೭೦೦ ಮೆಗಾವ್ಯಾಟ್ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಕೊರತೆಯನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಹರಿಸಲು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯವಾಗಿ ಕೆಲವು ಮಾರ್ಗೋಪಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಯೋಚಿಸಬಹುದಿತ್ತು. ಉದಾ ಹರಣೆಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು ೫೨ ಸಕ್ಕರೆ ಕಾರ್ಖಾನೆಗಳಿವೆ, ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ೨೪ ಸುಸಜ್ಜಿತವಾಗಿವೆ. ಎಲ್ಲ ಸಕ್ಕರೆ ಕಾರ್ಖಾನೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅಪಾರ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ತಯಾರಿಸಬಹುದು. ಆದರೆ ಸಕ್ಕರೆ ಕಾರ್ಖಾನೆಗಳು ತಯಾರಿ ಸುವ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್‌ಗೆ ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನವರೆಗೂ ಪ್ರತಿ ಯೂನಿಟ್‌ಗೆ ೩.೮೦ ರೂ. ನೀಡಲು ಮೀನಮೇಷ ಎಣಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ನೀವು, ರಿಲಯನ್ಸ್, ಸುಝ್ಲಾನ್, ಟಾಟಾದಂತಹ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ಯೂನಿಟ್‌ಗೆ ೮.೮೦ ರೂ. ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಖರೀದಿಸುತ್ತೀರಿ, ಏಕೆ? ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಮಾಮೂಲಿ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕಾ? ಉಮೇಶ್ ಕತ್ತಿಯವರನ್ನು ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದು ಸಾಕು, ಸಕ್ಕರೆ ಕಾರ್ಖಾನೆಗಳಿಂದ ಹೇಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ತಯಾರಿಸಬಹುದು, ಕೊರತೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂಚ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ನಿವಾರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಅವರಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ.
ಇವತ್ತು ರೇಶನ್ ಕಾರ್ಡ್ ಎಂಬುದು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಗುರುತಿನ ಚೀಟಿಯಂತಾಗಿದೆ. ಒಬ್ಬ ವಿದ್ಯಾವಂತನಿಗೆ, ಹಣ ವಂತನಿಗೆ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಅಕೌಂಟ್, ಪಾಸ್‌ಪೋರ್ಟ್, ಎಸ್‌ಎಸ್‌ಎಲ್‌ಸಿ ಮಾರ್ಕ್ಸ್‌ಕಾರ್ಡ್‌ನಂತಹ ಗುರುತುಗಳಿವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಇವ್ಯಾವವೂ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಬಡ ಅನಕ್ಷರಸ್ಥ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು? ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸರಕಾರ ಅಧಿಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ೬ ತಿಂಗಳಾಯಿತು. ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಪಡಿತರ ಚೀಟಿಯನ್ನಾದರೂ ವಿತರಿಸಬಹುದಿತ್ತಲ್ಲವೆ? ಜತೆಗೆ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಇನ್‌ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಷನ್‌ಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾದರೂ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಬಹುದಿತ್ತು. ಅಂದರೆ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಶಾಲೆ, ಕಾಲೇಜು, ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡುವುದರಿಂದ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯೂ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ, ಜನಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಕಾರ್ಯವೂ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ‘ಸಿಇಟಿ’ಯನ್ನೇ ರದ್ದು ಮಾಡಲು ಸಂಚು ರೂಪಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಲ್ಲಾ ಇದು ಸರೀನಾ? ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್-ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಮೈತ್ರಿಕೂಟ ಸರಕಾರವಿದ್ದಾಗ ‘ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಸೈಕಲ್ ಕೊಟ್ಟೆ, ಕೊಟ್ಟೆ’ ಅಂತ ಬಡಾಯಿ ಕೊಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಿರಿ. ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳಾದರೂ, ಶಾಲೆಗಳು ಪುನಾರಂಭಗೊಂಡು ಐದು ತಿಂಗಳಾದರೂ ಏಕೆ ಸೈಕಲ್ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲ? ಜಯಲಲಿತಾ ಅವರು ನಿಮಗಿಂತಲೂ ಮೊದಲೇ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಸೈಕಲ್ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಮೇಲ್ಪಂಕ್ತಿ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು. ಅದನ್ನೇ ಕಾಪಿ ಮಾಡಿ, ಯಾರೂ ಮಾಡದ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದೆ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಬೀಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ, ರೈತರ ಸಾಲಮನ್ನಾ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ತಾನೇ ಎಂದು ಕೊಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡಿರಲ್ಲಾ ಅದೆಂತಹ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಎಂಬುದು ನಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲವೆ? ಸಾಲಮನ್ನಾ ಮಾಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಕುಮಾರಸ್ವಾಮಿಯವರೇ ಹೊರತು ನೀವಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗೆ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ, ‘ಖಜಾನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದುಡ್ಡಿಲ್ಲ, ಸಾಲಮನ್ನಾ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ’ ಎಂದು ತಕರಾರು ತೆಗೆದಿದ್ದ ನೀವು ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಕುಮಾರಸ್ವಾಮಿಯವರು ಪಟ್ಟು ಹಿಡಿದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಒತ್ತಡಕ್ಕೆ ಮಣಿದಿರಿ. ಆದರೆ ಕಳೆದ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಪ್ರಚಾರಾಂದೋಲನದ ವೇಳೆ “ಸಾಲಮನ್ನಾ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ನಾನೇ” ಎಂದು ಪೋಸುಕೊಟ್ಟಿರಿ.
ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಏನೇನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ ಎಂದು ಶ್ವೇತಪತ್ರ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿ ನೋಡೋಣ?
ಹಣ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಲ್ಲಾ, ಕಳೆದ ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಬಜೆಟ್ ಮಂಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿರುವವರು ಯಾರು? ಒಬ್ಬ ವಿತ್ತ ಸಚಿವನಾಗಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಹಣಕಾಸು ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯ ಅರಿವಿರಲಿಲ್ಲವೆ? ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ೧೦ ಲಕ್ಷ ಮನೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿಕೊಡುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಪ್ರಣಾಳಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಆಶ್ವಾಸನೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇಕೆ? ಲೋಕಾಯುಕ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಪ್ರಣಾಳಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಆದರೆ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳಾದರೂ ಆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಏಕೆ ಚಕಾರವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ? ಈಗ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂಬ ಕಾರಣ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಆಶ್ವಾಸನೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಮೇಲೆ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆಯ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಏಕೆ?
ಅದಿರಲಿ, ನಿಮಗೆ ಪ್ರಜಾತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿದೆಯೇ? ಎಲ್ಲ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯಗಳೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದರೆ ಹೇಗೆ? ಏಕೆ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಕೊಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ? ಎಲ್ಲ ಖಾತೆಗಳ ವ್ಯವಹಾರದಲ್ಲೂ ಹಸ್ತಕ್ಷೇಪ ಮಾಡುವ ನೀವು, ಸಚಿವರಿಗೆ ಅವರ ಖಾತೆ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಜೆ.ಎಚ್. ಪಟೇಲರಿಂದ ಕಲಿಯಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ವಿಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇದ್ದಂತೆಯೇ ಕಾಣುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಮನಸ್ಸಿದ್ದರೆ ಖಂಡಿತ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಿವೆ. ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಗುಡಿ, ಗೋಪುರಗಳು, ನಿಸರ್ಗತಾಣಗಳು, ಸಮುದ್ರ ಕಿನಾರೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮದಿಂದಲೇ ಮೇಲೆತ್ತಬಹುದು. ಅದಕ್ಕೇನು ಬಹಳ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮಪಡಬೇಕಿಲ್ಲ. ಒಂದು ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಿ, ಸಾಗಣೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ, ಉತ್ತಮ ರಸ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಸತಿ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿದರೆ ಸಾಕು. ಅದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿ ತಾಣಗಳ ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರಿಗೂ ಅನ್ನ ದುಡಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಮೊನ್ನೆ ತಾನೇ ಶಿವರಾಜ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಚವ್ಹಾಣ್, ರಮಣ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರು ತಾವು ಕೈಗೊಂಡ ಜನ ಪರ ಕೆಲಸಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ಮರು ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿ ಬಂದರು. ಉತ್ತರಾಖಂಡದ ಬಿ.ಸಿ. ಖಂಡೂರಿ ಯವರಂತೂ ೨೦೦೮ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಗ್ಗಳಿಕೆಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವತ್ತು ಜಾತಿ ರಾಜಕೀಯ, ರಾಮನಾಮ ಸ್ಮರಣೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ದಿನ ನಡೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
ನೀವೂ ಐದು ವರ್ಷ ಆಡಳಿತ ನಡೆಸಬಹುದು. ನಿಮ್ಮಂತೆಯೇ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಜನ ಈ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಜನ ಮರೆತೇ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತಹ ಯಾವ ಸಾಧನೆಯನ್ನೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಂತಹ “Faceless” ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ನೀವೂ ಸೇರಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು. ಹಿಂದಿನವರ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಕಲಿಯಲೂಬಹುದು, ಅದೇ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಪುನರಾವರ್ತನೆ ಕೂಡ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು. ಐದು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮುಗಿಸುವ ಮುನ್ನ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಬರೆಯುವ ಮಾಮೂಲು ಷರಾ ಬದಲು, ಅಧಿಕಾರದ ಹೊಸ್ತಿಲಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇರುವ ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ಮುಂದೆ ತಿದ್ದಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದೆಂಬ ಸದುದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಇವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದು, ಅನ್ಯಥಾ ಭಾವಿಸಿದರೆ ನಷ್ಟ ನಿಮಗೆ. ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಈ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಾದರೆ, ಅಷ್ಟರಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ನಾವೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪರವೇ.

So much for the hoopla and hype for the phenomenon called “BJP” during the assembly elections in Karnataka earlier in the year 2008!
Apparently this is what happens when a party comes to power with too much expectations from the voters riding on their backs. It is not un-common to see similar feelings and opinions among the masses in other countries that have democratic form of government. The party that is not in power goes to polls after blaming the party in power for all the failures and ratchets up the rhetoric. When it is time for the same party to do good while in power all they do is sit on their hands!
The recent elections and subsequent winning of Barack Obama in the United States is no exception. Barack Obama blamed everything that the country is going through on President Bush and promised “hope” and “change” if elected as president and his tone during the election campaign season was nothing less than that of a person who has a magic wand to fix all the ills that the country faces in one shot. Now that Barack Obama is elected president look at his cabinet selections, he has the same old people who worked for Bill Clinton. So how can US citizens expect change when all the thinking heads are the same old, same old people who have worked on one failed policy after another while in power. Not only that, Barack Obama has gone so far as to tell the American people that they should lower the expectations on what his administration can do to fix the economy in near future which he never even hinted while running for the presidential office. This is what elected leaders do when they are struck with reality following an election victory and stop living in a fairy tale land that is an election campaign is. Before being elected to power those who seek power pose as lions and tigers and everything that will epitomize bravery and courage but once they win they appear to chicken out and become wimps!
The bottom line is elected representatives in a democracy do not work for the people who put them in position of power but work for themselves and their families and some special interest groups to whom they are sold out.
Do we have a solution for this? I am afraid not, there is none. That is the price citizens in free countries pay for being free and vote their leaders to power. It is a bit unsettling but that is best we all have – to live free, worship without fear, not being oppressed by the tyranny and prejudice of a dictatorial rule.
On a different note, this week it appears that your online version(available here) of the column is different from the newspaper print version(e-paper available online) of the same column printed on Saturday, 27th December 2008. The print version begins with different paragraph that refers to Dr. Yediyurappa and the bitter medicine you are about give him in this column and is titled ಡಾಕà³à²Ÿà²°à³ ಯಡಿಯೂರಪà³à²ªà²—ೊಂದೠಕಹಿ ಗà³à²³à²¿à²—ೆ. Also the newspaper print version does not have the paragraph about the relationship between Dr. BSY and Shobha Karandlaje and is available in the online version only. I don’t know the reason for this discrepancy this time between the online and print versions of your columns when all these days both were identical. Is it because of the sensitivity of the issue? I assume it was not intentional.
In my opinion public figures should be allowed to have a private life. What they do with their life is not our business unless such private life has an impact on the policies and decisions that could negatively impact the lives of the people who are ruled. It is wrong on our part to expect to see a saint in a public servant and they never are and they never will be.

A feeble attempt to separate the “great” BJP from the misdoings of the worst government the State has ever seen. Mr. Yeddurappa is the real BJP. Remember how Mr. Yeddurappa was nurtured by the party for more than 30 years? Remember how (the apostles of the “real” BJP – some illusion which you try to portray as real – like ) B B Shivappa or Mr. Rama Bhat of Puttur are sidelined, neglected, shown the door systematically, purposefully and reccuringly? Many individuals like me, were disappointed by BJP long long ago. And Yeddurappa is not the reason. Actually BJP can not govern. It can only shout. BJP never nurtured meritorious administrators. The poor party only has street shouters. Some 20 years ago, all the thugs, goondas, black marketeers, land mafia and all the bad elements were in Congress. Now it is BJP’s turn. The BJP wanted to build a Hindu vote bank, as against the minority vote bank which it claims is backing the Congress or other so called secular parties. In the process, it spread falsehood, it lied, created emotions, did all types of mischiefs which a responsible party in a matured democracy should never attemt to do. It showed the severest disrespect to the Constitution and laws of the land. (In a democracy, if the constitution is wrong, or the laws are wrong, you can always change it if you have a majority; So get majority first, then change the law.) For this, it had to support a cadre, which is highly irresponsible, and at the best, be called third grade criminals. Now this cadre has tasted blood, and wants more. So the BJP, has to be content with tha land mafia, goondas and criminal cadre, who incidentally become ministers or even CM. (Raamulu is the next CM, isn’t he? And why he is not the real BJP?)
And this Ananthkumar. He was a big failure as the central Civil Aviation Minister. He was sacked by Mr. Vajpayee because there were talks of large scale corruption in his ministry. And he was part of the Government, (which was the cowardest government India has ever seen) along with his coward cabinet collegues Mr. Vajpayee, Mr. Advani, Mr. Yashwant Sing and Mr. Jaswanth Singh. That government handed over the most dreaded terrorist Azar Masood on a special plane to Kandahar. And our External Affairs minister Mr. Jaswanth Singh escorted him up to there. Ananthkumar was a part of that cabinet. (The Mumbai terror attack is the direct impact of that cowardly act of the BJP government)
If the present Government at centre somehow manages to bring some terrorists to India to be tried here, and if BJP comes to power next time at the Centre, I am afraid that they will hand over all the terrorists to Pakistan with utmost respect and with a written apology from the Prime Minister. For the BJP, Jinna is great (ask Advani, future PM) and Gandhi is bad and fit to be killed. I had thought that Mr. Vajpayee will stop paying Haj subsidy to Muslims, once he becomes the PM. But he enhanced Haj subsidy! On 2nd of October 2008, the practice of not selling meat was taken back by the Yeddurappa government, because, this time October 2nd fell on Ramzan!

I would like to share my views on CM’s failure
We all voted BJP thinking they will work towards the growth of Karnataka and now that they are not doing that. So what do you think that we all can do to make BJP realize this. I feel by just electing a CM, our work is not over. So Is it possible to continue this article or write an article that when CM is not doing his job right what we can do. What we can do to reach our voice to our CM.

this article has brought out the reasons for BJP coming into power especially bcos of sympathy votes from lingayaths who earlier split their vote share to JDS and congress.
However the readers would like to know if there is any other alternative to BJP in karnataka as of now. JDS is ruled out as of now. Congress doesnt seem to have any leadership and indulge in infighting which the BJP is utilising very well to attract leaders like siddu. if siddu goes to BJP, lingayat+kuruba combination will give devastating power to BJP not just in state but also for loksabha seats.
DO WE HAVE AN ALTERNATIVE???
I use to be great fan of BJP, after ascertaining the administration from the BS Yediyurappa AKA BS Karandlajappa, earnestly began detesting BJP in such an extent that, at any cost i ought not cast vote to BJP in lifetime.
I can articulate one basic conclusion that, BSY is the worsted CM in the republic India not just our state. No wonder in future, he may even find place in the books of history, Just like history is concluding “Prapncha kanda athi ketta manushya Hitler”. No wonder student may find the topic “Karnataka kanda athi ketta CM BS Yeddiyurrppa” in history books.
I totally agree with the points Pratap has mentioned in his blog.
I am summarizing some facts,
1. No vision CM
2, Cast feeling CM
3. Adikara dahi CM
4.. Selfish CM
5. Not even fit as an MLA
6. Paid bribe to have “Honorable doctorate”, thanks to VK for publishing this news in front page of it’s daily magazine.
7. No difference between Develogowda and BSY. Even Gowda was better, he is to think of Farmers, in spite of his Dwesha rajakeeya.

Being a BJP wellwisher I suggest them to change Yadiyurappa by Mr Jagadish Shettar or Mr Ananthkumar asap.
