The article is so enlightening. Great!

But is it not obligatory on the state governments to implement the supreme court orders? If yes, are there no regulatory measures to penalise state govts for non obligation?

Though Prakash Singh & NK Singh are able to present and win a case at the Supreme Court level, there dont seem to be fruitful results for their efforts.

ನಿಜ. ಪೋಲೀಸರು ರಾಜಕಾರಿಣಿಗಳ ಕೈಗೊಂಬೆಗಳು. ವೀರಪ್ಪನ್ ಏಕೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ? ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯಲು ಹೂಡುವ ತಂತ್ರ, ಸ್ಥಳ ಮೊದಲಾದ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಪೋಲೀಸರು ರಾಜಕಾರಿಣಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕು. ವಿವರಗಳು ಹೇಗೋ ವೀರಪ್ಪನ್‌ಗೆ ತಲುಪುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು. ಹೇಗೆ ಎಂದು ವಿವರಿಸಬೇಕಿಲ್ಲವಷ್ಟೆ!

Excellent Post..!

It is actually true that the public never gets to see the pains that a Police man undergoes in duties. It is even factual that they are underpaid and least equipped. The reasons for all this you have mentioned.

As far as the Indian establishment goes I’d recollect the words of Richard Crasta. Indians are like Coconuts. Brown outside but White inside. The syndromes of revering whitemen made rules should die first. We are just derivatives of what is administered by others.

really a nice article…we people just passing comments on police by not knowing the actual situation..but SOMETIMES there should be a person and rules and regulations to limit police also…its been 3 years after suggestions by supreme court but its not implemented in many of states..what is the reason behind this..?is it not mandatory to obey supreme court decisions..?

ಪೋಲಿಸ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ತುಂಬಾ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಇನ್ನು ಒಂದು ವಿಷಯ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಪೋಲೀಸರು third degree ಬಳಸಲು ಕಾರಣವೇನೆಂದರೆ, ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸಲು resources ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವದು.
ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಹೆಗಡೆಯವರು ತಮ್ಮ ರಾಜಕೀಯ compulsionsಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ, ರಾಜಕೀಯವನ್ನೇ ಹಾಳುಗೆಡವಿದರು ಎನ್ನುವದು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಸತ್ಯ.
