Mr. Pratap i am a big fan of your articles but i have many objections for this particular article. Infact i was shocked to read such sentences in your article. Your points about article 370, equal rights and Afzal guru are highly objectionable. Do u want us to have a week memory and forget the attrocities. If we talk about India for everbody, then why not equal rights for all. I have read so many articles written by you condemning the partial laws and now you want the people and BJP to forget it. I dont agree. Self respect is most important and when you lose that the top most position of this world would also make you incomplete. I agree with your points that BJP should focus more on development, but our people took power away from BJP under Mr.Vajpayee when they were doing some excellent development works. In addition to development also these sensitive issues should also be addressed. Afzal guru should be hanged and i think any patriotic citizen would not pardon him. Its a shame that he is not hanged till now and so its not a light issue.IN general a very disappointing article……!!!

Mr Simha,
Obama, as a black was a minority in the state of America and he had to, inorder to oblige the major white community talk in terms of ‘America for All’. There was no necessity for any white presidential candidate to impress the majority community to gather votes.
If compared to this scenario, Advaniji could have impressed everyone if he was from any of the minority community. But there was no need, as the party appealed to all Hindus who are the prime deciding factor in India and if determined, the large Hindu votebank could have pushed the Hindu face of political party, the BJP into becoming the single largest party.
Hindutva still appeals to the youth and can never fade untill there is unrest and suspicion surrounding it to making it weak.
There are much other factors that have lead to this debacle, be it non-cooperation in the party, money factor and many other things that could be discussed personally.
Thank you for the article, but the start should have been much polished.

till now i am not able to understand..how the ministers are winning by the votes of minority people than majority people vote..

reasons may be..

1) minority communities strength increased and they are no minority now..
2) majority people not voting..

proper janagaNati should be done..

Main reason for BJP’s Falter is its voter base did not vote at all.
42% voting in Bombay, Delhi, and Major Urban Areas.
Other cause is self center thought of RSS, Which didn’t allow all community representation in the Party. BJP has become Bhraman’s Jaathi Party.
Now same thing is happening in Karnataka too. BJP has no future if persists with those ‘BJP’ ideologies. Congress is the best party to keep so called ‘minorities’ at Bay. As you can see now Congress has won from Muslim votes but Most or many Ministers are Hindu’s.
