ಆಕ್ಸ್‌ಫರ್ಡ್‌ನ ಅರ್ಥಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞರೇ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಅಂಜಿದೊಡೆಂತಯ್ಯ?

ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ: ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ಆಕ್ಸ್‌ಫರ್ಡ್ ವಿವಿಯಿಂದ ಅರ್ಥಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನಾತಕೋತ್ತರ ಪದವಿ, ೧೯೬೨ರಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಥ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ಡಾಕ್ಟರೇಟ್.

ಸಾಧನೆ: 1966ರಲ್ಲಿ UNCTAD ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾಗಿ ನೇಮಕ, 1971ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಖಾತೆಯ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರಾಗಿ ನೇಮಕ, ಡೆಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಆಫ್ ಇಕನಾಮಿಕ್ಸ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ, 1982ರಲ್ಲಿ ರಿಸರ್ವ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಆಫ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ(ಆರ್‌ಬಿಐ)ದ ಗವರ್ನರ್, 1987ರಲ್ಲಿ ‘ನ್ಯಾಮ್’ನ ‘ದಿ ಸೌತ್ ಕಮಿಷನ್’ನ ಮಹಾ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆ.

ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ, 1991ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಹಣಕಾಸು ಸಚಿವರಾಗಿ ನಿಯುಕ್ತಿಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೊದಲು ಯುಜಿಸಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ, ವಿತ್ತಖಾತೆ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರ, ಯೋಜನಾ ಆಯೋಗದ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ, ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರಾಗಿಯೂ ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈಗಂತೂ ಡಾ. ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರ profile ಇನ್ನೂ ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿದೆ. ನೊಬೆಲ್ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತ ಅಮರ್ತ್ಯ ಸೇನ್ ಅವರಂತೆ ಕಾಗದದ ಮೇಲಷ್ಟೇ ಖ್ಯಾತ ಅರ್ಥಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞರಾಗದೆ, ಭಾರತದ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಉದಾರೀಕರಣದ ಹರಿಕಾರ ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಜತೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯಾಗಿ ಐದು ವರ್ಷ ಪೂರೈಸುವ ಹಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಅನುಭವವೊಂದೇ ಸಾಕು ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಯಾವುದೇ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಜತೆ ಚರ್ಚೆಗಿಳಿಯಲು. ನಿಜ ಹೇಳಬೇಕೆಂದರೆ, ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಬರುವಂತೆ ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರೇ ತಮ್ಮ ವಿರೋಧಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪಂಥಾಹ್ವಾನ ನೀಡಬೇಕಿತ್ತು!
ಆದರೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದೇನು?

ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 25ರಂದು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಪ್ರಣಾಳಿಕೆ ಯನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಸೋನಿಯಾ ಗಾಂಧಿಯವರು, “ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಮುಂದಿನ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿ” ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದ ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಎಷ್ಟು ಉತ್ಸಾಹಿತರಾದರೆಂದರೆ, ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿ ಲಾಲ್ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಟೀಕಾ ಪ್ರಹಾರ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರನ್ನು “ಅವಕಾಶವಾದಿ” ಎಂದು ಟೀಕಿಸಿದರು. “ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರು ಗೃಹ ಸಚಿವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಸಂಸತ್ತಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿಯಾಯಿತು, ಕೆಂಪುಕೋಟೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಕ್ರಮಣ ನಡೆಯಿತು,  ಗುಜರಾತ್ ಹತ್ಯಾಕಾಂಡವೂ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿತು, ಇಂಡಿಯನ್ ಏರ್‌ಲೈನ್ಸ್ ವಿಮಾನವೂ ಅಪಹರಣಕ್ಕೊಳಗಾಯಿತು. ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕರಿಗೇ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯ ಉಡುಗೊರೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿತು. ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರ ಸಾಧನೆ ಇದೇ! “.
ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಇಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೇ ಸುಮ್ಮನಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಮಗ್ಗುಲಲ್ಲೇ ಸೋನಿಯಾ ಗಾಂಧಿಯವರು ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಲೋ ಏನೋ ಹಿಂದೆಂದೂ ಕಾಣದಂತಹ ಧೈರ್ಯ ತೋರಿಸಿದ ಅವರು, “ನಾನು ದುರ್ಬಲ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯೋ ಅಥವಾ ಪ್ರಬಲ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯೋ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಸರಕಾರದ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳೇ ಹೇಳುತ್ತವೆ. ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ದುರ್ಬಲ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಎನ್ನುವ ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರು, ಬಾಬರಿ ಮಸೀದಿ ನೆಲಸಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾವ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ?” ಎಂದು ಬಿಟ್ಟರು!

ಅದು ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಗಂಭೀರ ಆರೋಪವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ವರುಣ್ ಗಾಂಧಿಯವರು ಕೋಮುದ್ವೇಷ ಹುಟ್ಟುಹಾಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಯಾವ ಭಾಷಣವನ್ನು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಟೀಕಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತೋ, ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಟೀಕೆ ಕೂಡ ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಪಾಯಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಹಾಗಂತ ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರು ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಮರುದಿನ ಅಂದರೆ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 26 ರಂದು ಅರುಣಾಚಲ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಲು ನಿಂತ ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿ ಯವರು, ‘ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿ ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಸೋನಿಯಾ ಗಾಂಧಿಯವರು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನೇ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಯಾರಾಗಬಹುದೆಂಬ ಊಹಾಪೋಹಗಳಿಗೆ ತೆರೆ ಎಳೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರು ರಾಜ್ಯಸಭೆಯಿಂದ ಹಿಂಬಾಗಿಲು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಜನರಿಂದ ಲೋಕಸಭೆಗೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು! ಆಗ ಜನರೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ’ ಎಂದು ಮೊದಲ ಗುದ್ದು ನೀಡಿದರು. ‘ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರು ದೇಶ ಕಂಡ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ದುರ್ಬಲ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ. ಸೋನಿಯಾ ಗಾಂಧಿಯವರ ಅನುಮತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರಿಂದ ಏನೂ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ! ಸೋನಿಯಾ ಅಂಕಿತವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಒಂದು ಕಡತವೂ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ’ ಎಂದು ಟೀಕಾಪ್ರಹಾರ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಇನ್ನೂ ಮುಂದುವರಿದು, ‘ಅಮೆರಿಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಡೆಮೋಕ್ರಾಟ್ ಹಾಗೂ ರಿಪಬ್ಲಿಕನ್ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಟೀವಿ ಮುಂದೆ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಚರ್ಚಾಸಮರ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಡೀ ದೇಶ ಅದನ್ನು ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಯಾರಿಗೆ ವೋಟು ಹಾಕಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರ ಜತೆ ನಾನೂ ನೇರ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಸಿದ್ಧನಿದ್ದೇನೆ’ ಎಂದರು.

ಅದು ಖಂಡಿತ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸವಾಲೇ ಆಗಿತ್ತು.

ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೇ ಇದ್ದಿದ್ದರೂ ಆ ಸವಾಲನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಬೇಕಿತ್ತು ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯಾಗಿ ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರು ೧೫ ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಮೌನಕ್ಕೆ ಶರಣುಹೋಗಿದ್ದೇಕೆ? ಪಕ್ಷದ ವಕ್ತಾರೆ ಜಯಂತಿ ನಟರಾಜನ್ ಅವರ ಮೂಲಕ  “ಈ ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಗೆ ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವ್ಯಾಮೋಹ ಹೆಚ್ಚು” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಕೊಡಿಸಿ, Spit and run ಥರಾ ಓಡಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದು ಎಷ್ಟು ಸರಿ? ಅಲ್ಪಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ದ್ವೇಷಕಾರುವ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದು ವರುಣ್ ಗಾಂಧಿಯವರನ್ನು ಟೀಕಿಸಿದ ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್, “ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರ ಏಕೈಕ ಸಾಧನೆಯೆಂದರೆ ಬಾಬರಿ ಮಸೀದಿ ನೆಲಸಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದು” ಎಂದಿದ್ದೂ ಕೋಮುವಾದಿ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಯೇ ಆಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲವೆ? ಅಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ, 17 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ನಡೆದ ಬಾಬರಿ ಮಸೀದಿ ದ್ವಂಸ ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ಕೆದಕಿದ್ದು, ಮುಸ್ಲಿಮರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ದ್ವೇಷಭಾವನೆ ಹುಟ್ಟುಹಾಕುವ ಹಾಗೂ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಮರನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮತ್ತ ಸೆಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಒಳಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದಲೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೆ? ಅಂತಹ ಗುರುತರ ಆರೋಪ ಮತ್ತು ಟೀಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರು ಮುಂದಿನ ಹಂತದ ಆರೋಪ-ಪ್ರತ್ಯಾರೋಪ ಅಥವಾ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿರ ಬೇಕಿತ್ತಲ್ಲವೆ?

ಆದರೆ ಚರ್ಚೆಯಿಂದ ಪಲಾಯನ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇಕೆ?

ಆಕ್ಸ್‌ಫರ್ಡ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಓದಿದ, ರಿಸರ್ವ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸಿದ, ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಉದಾರೀಕರಣ ನೀತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತಂದ ಮಹಾನ್ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ‘Courage of conviction” ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂದರೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ? ಇಷ್ಟೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅನುಭವ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಥಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಆ ರಾಜ್‌ದೀಪ್ ಸರ್ದೇಸಾಯಿ, ಅವರ ಪತ್ನಿ ಸಾಗರಿಕಾ ಘೋಷ್, ನಿಖಿಲ್ ವಾಗ್ಲೆ, ಬರ್ಖಾ ದತ್ ಏಕೆ ಬೇಕು ಸಾರ್?! ಮೊನ್ನೆ ಲಂಡನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಜಿ-೨೦ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ ಸಭೆಯ ವೇಳೆ ತನ್ನ ಮಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಆಟೋಗ್ರಾಫ್ ಕೊಡಿ ಎಂದು ಬರಾಕ್ ಒಬಾಮ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡ ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್, ‘ನೀವು ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯುವಜನತೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಅಪಾರ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯತೆ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದೀರಿ’ ಎಂದು ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಬರಾಕ್ ಒಬಾಮ ಭಾರತದ ಯುವಜನತೆಯ ಮನಗೆದ್ದಿದ್ದು ಅವರ ಮಾತಿನ ಮೋಡಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೆ? ಆಡಳಿತದ ಯಾವ ಅನುಭವವೂ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಬರಾಕ್ ಒಬಾಮ ಎಂಬ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಯ ಸೆನೆಟರ್. ಹಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ವಿಯೆಟ್ನಾಂ ಯುದ್ಧದ ಹೀರೋ, ರಿಪಬ್ಲಿಕನ್ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಹಿರಿಯ ನೇತಾರ, ನಾಲ್ಕು ಬಾರಿ ಸೆನೆಟರ್ ಆಗಿದ್ದ ಅನುಭವಿ ಜಾನ್ ಮೆಕೇನ್ ಅವರನ್ನೇ ಸೋಲಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆಂದರೆ ಇನ್ನು ಐದು ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಹಾಗೂ ಅನುಭವ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತಿಕೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ನೀವೇ ಪುಕ್ಕಲರಂತೆ ಓಡಿ ಹೋದರೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ?

ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸಿಟ್ಟು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು, ಅವರೇನು ಇದೇ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಈ ದೇಶ ಕಂಡ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ‘ದುರ್ಬಲ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಲ್ಲ. ಕಳೆದ ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಹಾಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಂತಹ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಇದುವರೆಗೂ ನೀವು ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನೋ ಸರಿ. ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿ ಎಂದು ಸೋನಿಯಾ ಗಾಂಧಿಯವರು ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಕೋಪ ನೆತ್ತಿಗೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರತಿದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮುಂದಿನ ಸುತ್ತಿಗೂ ತಯಾರಾಗಬೇಕಿತ್ತಲ್ಲವೆ? ಆದರೆ ಪಲಾಯನವಾದ ವೇಕೆ? ಭಯ ಕಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆಯೇ? ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ಜತೆಗಿನ ಅಣುಸಹಕಾರ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ತೋರಿದ ಧೈರ್ಯ, ದೃಢ ನಿಲುವು ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಮೆಚ್ಚುವಂಥವುಗಳೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದವು. ಆದರೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿ ಯಾವ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳಿವೆ?

ಕಳೆದ ೫ ದಶಕಗಳ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಆಡಳಿತದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಸಾಧನೆಯಾದರೂ ಏನು? ಅಲ್ಪಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸವಲತ್ತಿನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತೀರಲ್ಲಾ, ಈ ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ತುರ್ತುಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೇರಿ ಜನರ ಬಾಯನ್ನೇ ಮುಚ್ಚಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದವರಾರು? ಅದು ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಹಕ್ಕನ್ನೇ ಕಿತ್ತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಯತ್ನವಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲವೆ? ಗುಜರಾತ್ ಹಿಂಸಾಚಾರ ತಪ್ಪು ಎನ್ನುವುದಾದರೆ ೧೯೮೪ರ ಸಿಖ್ ಹತ್ಯಾಕಾಂಡ ಸರಿಯೆ? ಗುಜರಾತ್ ಹಿಂಸಾಚಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ದೇಶದ ಕ್ಷಮೆಯಾಚಿಸಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ದೂರುತ್ತೀರಲ್ಲಾ, ಸಿಖ್ ಹತ್ಯಾಕಾಂಡಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನೀವು ದೇಶದ ಕ್ಷಮೆಯಾಚಿಸಲು 20 ವರ್ಷಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇಕೆ? ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರು ಬಾಬರಿ ಮಸೀದಿ ನೆಲಸಮಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಎನ್ನುವುದಾದರೆ, ಆಗ ಕೇಂದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ (ನೀವೂ ಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ) ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಸರಕಾರ ಮೂಕಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕನಾಗಿ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದೇಕೆ? ಧರ್ಮನಿರಪೇಕ್ಷತೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಭಾಷಣ ನೀಡುತ್ತೀರಲ್ಲಾ, ದೇಶಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸಮಾನ ನಾಗರೀಕ ಸಂಹಿತೆಯನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತರಲು ಏಕೆ ವಿರೋಧಿಸುತ್ತೀರಿ? ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯನ್ನು ಕೋಮುವಾದಿ ಎನ್ನುವುದಾದರೆ ಧರ್ಮದ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ದೇಶ ವಿಭಜನೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಲೀಗ್‌ನ ಹಾಲಿ ರೂಪವಾದ ಇಂಡಿಯನ್ ಯುನಿಯನ್ ಆಫ್ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಲೀಗ್ ಜತೆ ನೀವು ಕೇರಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಮೈತ್ರಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದೇಕೆ? ವರುಣ್ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಜೈಲಿಗೆ ತಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುತ್ತೀರಲ್ಲಾ ಮಹಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾಷೆ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್‌ಠಾಕ್ರೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನು? ಅವರನ್ನೇಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಸರಕಾರ ಬಂಧಿಸಿ ಜೈಲಿಗೆ ತಳ್ಳಿಲ್ಲ? ರಾಜ್ ಠಾಕ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ಪೋಷಿಸಿದರೆ ಭಾಳಾ ಠಾಕ್ರೆಯವರನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿಕ್ಕಬಹುದು ಎಂಬ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರವೇ? ವಿದೇಶಿಯರು ಟಿಬೆಟ್ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಸುವ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ನಿರ್ಬಂಧ ಹೇರಿದ್ದೀರಲ್ಲಾ, ವಿದೇಶಿ ಮಿಷನರಿಗಳು ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತಪ್ರಚಾರ ಮಾಡಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವುದೇಕೆ? ನಿಮ್ಮ ಧರ್ಮನಿರಪೇಕ್ಷತೆ ಎಂಥದ್ದು ಎಂಬುದು ಇದರಿಂದ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆ?

ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಖಂಡಿತ ರಾಜಕಾರಣವನ್ನೇ.

ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದೇನು? ರಾಮಸೇತು ವಿವಾದ ವನ್ನು ಸೂಕ್ತ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಗೆಹರಿಸುವ ಬದಲು ಸುಪ್ರೀಂಕೋರ್ಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವವನ್ನೇ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಮಾಡಿತಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸರಕಾರ, ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತರ ಮೂಲದೈವ ಲಾರ್ಡ್ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಂನ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸುವ ತಾಕತ್ತು ನಿಮಗಿದೆಯೇ? ರಾಮಸೇತುವನ್ನು ‘ಅಡಮ್ಸ್ ಬ್ರಿಜ್’ ಎಂದು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸುತ್ತೀರಲ್ಲಾ ಯಾವನು ಆ ಅಡಮ್ಸ್? ನೀವು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ವಿಭಜಕ ರಾಜಕಾರಣ ವನ್ನಲ್ಲವೆ? ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರೇ, ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ವಿಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಖಂಡಿತ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತರಿರಬಹುದು, ಆದರೆ ಅಮರನಾಥ ಸಂಘರ್ಷದ ವೇಳೆ, ‘ಹೊಸ ದಿಲ್ಲಿಗಿಂತ ಮುಜಫ್ಫರಾಬಾದೇ(ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನ) ನಮಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿರ’ ಎಂದ ಮೆಹಬೂಬಾ ಮುಫ್ತಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡದ ನೀವು ದುರ್ಬಲ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯಲ್ಲದೆ ಪ್ರಬಲರೇನು? ಆಕೆ ಆಡಿದ್ದು ದೇಶ ತುಂಡರಿಸುವ ಮಾತನ್ನೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೆ? ಒಂದು ಹಾಗೂ ಎರಡು ರೂಪಾಯಿ ನಾಣ್ಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕ್ರಾಸ್ ಅಚ್ಚುಹಾಕಿಸಿದ್ದು ಯಾವ ಸೀಮೆ ಜಾತ್ಯತೀತವಾದ? ನೀವೇ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿ, ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸುವುದು ಕಷ್ಟವೋ ಅಥವಾ ಒಂದು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಸಿ  ಗೆಲ್ಲುವುದು ಕಷ್ಟವೋ? ಒಬ್ಬ ಅನಕ್ಷರಸ್ಥನೂ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗೆಲ್ಲುವುದೇ ಸುಲಭ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲೇ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ನೀವು ಎನ್ನುವುದಾದರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಬಲ್ಯವೇನೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸರಕಾರದ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳೇ ಹೇಳುವುದಾದರೆ ಏಕೆ ಲೋಕಸಭೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆಗೆ ನಿಲ್ಲುವುದಿಲ್ಲ? ರಾಜ್ಯಸಭೆಯೆಂಬ ಹಿಂಬಾಗಿಲೇ ಏಕೆ ಬೇಕು? ದೇಶದ ಮತದಾರರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವರು ದಡ್ಡರು, ಅನಕ್ಷರಸ್ಥರು, ಜಾತಿ ನೋಡಿ ವೋಟು ಹಾಕುವವರು ಎಂದೇ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡರೂ ಯಾವ ಒಂದು ಜಾತಿಯ ಹಿಡಿತದಲ್ಲೂ ಇರದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ದಿಲ್ಲಿಯಂತಹ ದೇಶದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸುಶಿಕ್ಷಿತ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ  ನೀವು ೧೯೯೯ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋತಿದ್ದೇಕೆ?

ಸ್ವಿಸ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ೨೫ ಲಕ್ಷ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಕಳ್ಳ ಹಣವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರು ಗಂಭೀರ ಆರೋಪ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತಾವು ಅಧಿಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಆ ಹಣವನ್ನು ವಾಪಸ್ ತರುವುದಾಗಿ ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಕ್ಷದ ವಕ್ತಾರ ಜೈರಾಮ್ ರಮೇಶ್ ಆಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಮಾತುಗಳೇನು? ‘ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಇಂಟರ್‌ನೆಟ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ತಡಕಾಡಿ ಹುಸಿ ಅಂಕಿ-ಆಂಶ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯವರು ಅಧಿಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗೇಕೆ ಹಣವನ್ನು ವಾಪಸ್ ತರಲಿಲ್ಲ?’ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಜೈರಾಮ್ ರಮೇಶ್ ಅವರ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಕೆಟ್ಟಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗನಿಸುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲವೆ? ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ, ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರು ಸುಳ್ಳು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದರೆ ಸತ್ಯ ಯಾವುದು? ಅವರ ಅಂಕಿ-ಅಂಶ ತಪ್ಪಿರಬಹುದು. ಆದರೆ ಸ್ವಿಸ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತದ ಕಳ್ಳಸಂಪತ್ತು ಇರುವುದು ಸುಳ್ಳಾ? ಎಷ್ಟಾದರೂ ಇರಲಿ, ವಾಪಸ್ ತರುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ನೀವೇ ಏಕೆ ಹೇಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ? ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯವರು ಅಧಿಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗೇಕೆ ಹಣವನ್ನು ವಾಪಸ್ ತರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಲ್ಲಾ, ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಖಾತೆ ಹೊಂದಿದವರ ಹೆಸರುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಹಿರಂಗಪಡಿಸಲು ಸ್ವಿಸ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು ೬ ತಿಂಗಳೂ ಆಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದೂ ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ತೀವ್ರ ಒತ್ತಡದ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಲು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆಯಷ್ಟೇ. ಜತೆಗೆ ಒಂದು ದೇಶದ ಹಾಲಿ ಸರಕಾರ ಔಪಚಾರಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮನವಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಈಗ ಅಧಿಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿರುವುದು ಯುಪಿಎನೋ, ಎನ್‌ಡಿಎಯೋ?

ಬಹಿರಂಗ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಈ ಮೇಲಿನ ವಿಚಾರಗಳೆಲ್ಲ ಬಹಿರಂಗವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಣ್ಣ ಬಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ಭಯ ಕಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆಯೇ ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವರೇ?

ಅಂದಮಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರನ್ನೇನು ಹೊಗಳುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ.  ಒಬ್ಬ ಗೃಹ ಸಚಿವರಾಗಿ ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಯಾವ ಸಾಧನೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದೆಲ್ಲ ತನ್ನದು, ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದೆಲ್ಲಾ ವಾಜಪೇಯಿಯವರದ್ದು ಎನ್ನುವ ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರು ಕಿಲಾಡಿ ಅಸಾಮಿಯೇ ಸರಿ. ಒಬ್ಬ ರಾಜಕಾರಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ಗುಣ-ದೋಷಗಳೂ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿವೆ. ಹಾಗಂತ ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಹುದ್ದೆಗೆ ಅನರ್ಹ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರೊಬ್ಬ ಮಹಾನ್ ಸಂಘಟಕ, Strategist. ನೀವು ಆಕ್ಸ್‌ಫರ್ಡ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಓದಿದ್ದರೂ ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರು ನಿಮಗಿಂತ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಬಲ್ಲರು. Pseudo-secularism, cultural nationalism, Hindutva, minorityism ಮುಂತಾದ ಪದ, ಪದಗುಚ್ಛಗಳನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಆ ಮೂಲಕ ತಮ್ಮ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರವಾದವನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಥಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮಾತಲ್ಲ. 1984ರ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 2 ಸ್ಥಾನಗಳಿಗಿಳಿದಿದ್ದ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯನ್ನು ಈ ಮಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಳೆಸಿದ್ದು ಅವರೇ. ಅಟಲ್ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮವಿದೆ. ಈಗ ತಾವೇ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವರು ಆಸೆ ಪಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ತಪ್ಪೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

ನಿಮ್ಮಿಬ್ಬರನ್ನೂ ತೆಗಳುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಇಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ನೀವಿ ಬ್ಬರೂ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದರಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮತದಾರನಿಗೆ ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಅಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ಪ್ರಜಾ ಪ್ರಭುತ್ವ ಬೆಳೆಯಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಆಗಾಗ್ಗೆ ಆರೋಗ್ಯಕರ ಚರ್ಚೆಗಳೂ ನಡೆಯಬೇಕು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆಗಿಂತ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸಂದರ್ಭ ಯಾವುದಿದೆ? ಹಾಗಿರುವಾಗ ಒಂದು ಘನ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ನಾಂದಿಯಾಗುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಕೈ ಕಡಿ, ಕತ್ತು ಕಡಿ, ರೋಲರ್ ಹತ್ತಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂಬ ಚಿಲ್ಲರೆ ರಾಜಕೀಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಂಥ ಸಭ್ಯರಾಜಕಾರಣಿಗಳು ಮೇಲ್ಪಂಕ್ತಿ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಡಬಹುದಿತ್ತು. ಇಂಥದ್ದೊಂದು ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದರೆ ಜಾತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಇನ್ನಿತರ ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೇರಲು ಹವಣಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವವರಿಗೂ ಒಂದು ಪಾಠವಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಲಲ್ಲು, ಉಲ್ಲು, ಪಾಸ್ವಾನ್, ಪವಾರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರವಾಗಿ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಾಲು ಹೇಳಲು ಬಾರದ ಮಾಯಾವತಿಯವರಂತಹವರೂ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಜೊಲ್ಲು ಸುರಿಸುವ ಮೊದಲು ಬೆವರುಹರಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಇಂತಹ ಬಹಿರಂಗ ಚರ್ಚೆ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷೀಯ ಪ್ರಜಾತಂತ್ರವಿರುವ ಅಮೆರಿಕ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ,  ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಹುದ್ದೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಜಪಾನ್, ಬ್ರಿಟನ್‌ಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತವೆ. ನಾವೂ ಬರುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕಮ್ಮಿನಿಸ್ಟರು ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಲೆಕೆಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ನೀವಿಬ್ಬರು ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದಿತ್ತು. ಖಂಡಿತ, ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿರುವುದು ಎನ್‌ಡಿಎ-ಯುಪಿಎಗಳೆರಡೇ ಅಲ್ಲ ಅನ್ನುವುದು ಪೊಳ್ಳುವಾದವಷ್ಟೇ. ಯಾವುದೇ ಪಕ್ಷವನ್ನು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಪಕ್ಷವೆನ್ನಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಅದು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಲಾವಣೆಯಾಗುವ ಮತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು ಶೇ. ೬ರಷ್ಟನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿರಬೇಕು. ಅಂತಹ ಅರ್ಹತೆ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್-ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಬೇರಾವ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳಿಗೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

ಹಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ನೀವು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದೇನು ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್?

ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸವಾಲೆಸೆದು 15 ದಿನಗಳು ಕಳೆದ ನಂತರ ಬಾಯ್ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀರಲ್ಲಾ, ಒಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ನೀಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಷ್ಟು ಸಮಯ ಬೇಕಾ? ಅದೂ ನೀವು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆಯಾದರೂ  ಏನು? “ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರಿಗೆ   ಪರ್ಯಾಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯೆಂಬ ಸ್ಥಾನ ನೀಡಲು ಇಷ್ಟವಿಲ್ಲ ದಿರುವುದರಿಂದ  ಟಿವಿ ಮುಂದೆ ನೇರ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಸಿದ್ಧನಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದಿದ್ದೀರಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆ, ಸೌಜನ್ಯಗಳಾದರೂ ಇವೆಯೇ? ಆಡ್ವಾಣಿಯವರು ಪರ್ಯಾಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿಯೋ, ಅಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವವರು ಈ ದೇಶದ ಮತದಾರರೋ ಅಥವಾ ನೀವೋ? ಅಥವಾ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಳ್ಳಿರಿಸಿರುವ ಸೋನಿಯಾ ಗಾಂಧಿಯವರೋ? ಇನ್ನು Decency, Morality  ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅದ್ಯಾವ ಮುಖ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಿ ಸಾರ್? ಸರಕಾರವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ಕಂಬಿ ಎಣಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಆರ್‌ಜೆಡಿ ಸಂಸದ ಪಪ್ಪು ಯಾದವ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಶಹಾಬುದ್ದೀನ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಜೈಲಿನಿಂದ ಸಂಸತ್ತಿಗೆ ಕರೆತರುವಾಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೈತಿಕತೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿತ್ತು? ಕಾಸು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ವೋಟು ಖರೀದಿಸುವಾಗ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ನಿದ್ರಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತು ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೈತಿಕ ಪ್ರe?

    Excellent article. Every body knows that current congress is not having persons who will deliver the speeches like BJP. Atleast PM should have been given acceptance for this challenge. In India, atleast the youth should force the Govt to conduct the test that includes History, National Anthem. If you ask Sonia, she may know Itali National anthem. I can bet in this regard. She can not speek continuously 5 min with out any body’s help. She is leading the country by behind the screen. We are seeing like hungry dogs.

    ೨. ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಮಂತ್ರಿ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಯ ಯೋಗ್ಯತೆ ನೇರ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಡುತ್ತದೆ.
    ೩. ಚಿಕ್ಕಪುಟ್ಟ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳು ಹಾಗು ಏನು ಗುರಿಗಲಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಕೇವಲ ಅಧಿಕಾರದ ಆಸೆಗೆ (ಕಿಂಗ್ ಮಕೆರ್ಸ್), ದುಡ್ಡಿನ ಆಸೆ ಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟುವ / ಸ್ಪರ್ದಿಸುವ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಡಿವಾಣ ಹಾಕಬಹುದು.

    ಆದ್ರೆ ಎ ಲೇಖನದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದೇ ಕಂಪ್ಲೇಂಟ್, ಏನಂದ್ರೆ ನೋಡೋಕೆ ಅಡ್ವಾಣಿ ಹಾಗು ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಇಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಅವರು ಯೋಗ್ಯತೆ ಕೆಲವು ವಿಷ್ಯ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿ ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂತ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಮನಮೋಹನ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಮೇಲೆ ಗುರಿ ಮಾಡಿರೋದು ಅಷ್ಟು ಸರಿ ಅನ್ನಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದ್ವಾನಿಯವರು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಮಾತು ಮುರಿದಿರೋ ನಿದರ್ಶನಗಳು ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟಿವೆ, ಅವರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಷಮತೆ ಹಾಗು ಕಠಿಣ ನಿರ್ದಾರ ಗಳನ್ನ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಾಗು ಪಾಲಿಸುವ ಕ್ಷಮತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿಲ್ಲ ಹಾಗು ಈ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಒರೆಗೆ ಹಚ್ಚವ ಪರಿಸ್ತಿತಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ಅವರು ನಿಜ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವ ಬಯಲಾಗುಹುದು.

    All these points U told about L. K. Advani can just help him to lead his political party….One can’t say that based on these points he can become a great PM.

    1. This website belongs to Pratap who s articles are published and are open for comments.Then why are you talking about the VK newspaper s articles.
    2.Pratap was the one who wrote an article about Yediyurappa s functioning way that he has no major achievements during his tenure untill date.This means that he is not biased on any party.
    3.Just because CM s son is contesting you cant compare that to Devegowda s family in which the whole lot is into politics, seems like Prasad is a work person for JDS.
    4. You again commented saying that your comment on some article was not published! there are people who say that the comments are not seen but there may be a technical problem of publishing also right, and pratap may be working on to fix it.What say Pratap???

    This is a reaction to the above comment made by Dr.Gururaj.

    Of course the article is one sided that is ‘right’ sided..(To be understood as ‘not on the wrong side’), What is the problem in being so…, Being and reacting neutral is neither the real essence of constructive journalism nor the expectation from it by the soceity. Please do understand that even the so called pseudo secular news agencies or journalists are also not neutral. Do you think they are constructive (which mislead the people and soceity) ? For such kind of journalism why don’t you tell ‘onesided’..?
    Afterall what ever Pratap has written on Advani or Manmohan are the facts which are to be accepted by you or anybody.

    Good aritcal. One should think about MM Singh and LK Advani before voting.
    Everyone knows that, though MM Singh is brilliant and has good personal strengths, he couldn’t take any decisions independently.
    Do we need a PM who can not take any strong decision independently?

    Dr. Manmohan Singh need justify nothing. His credentials and phenomenal success as an academician and then on in offices of high relevance have time and again shown what he is capable of. Dirty electoral politics are not his thing. I am saddened deeply by mudslinging from his own end. As a fellow doctorate student in Oxford, it pains me no end.

    Also Pratap, Singh did his masters in Economics from Cambridge,and went on to get a D Phil in Economics from Oxford, in Nuffield College – the place for Economics and Political Science. He continues to be an honorary fellow there, alongside greats like Amartya Sen, Ariel Rubisntein, James Mirrlees.

    In my opinion, young blood should come up in the political activities and do some better work than these old people. I do respect there ideas and hard work done towards the nation, they should retire at right age so that more people can work under there guidence. But They never change there mindset towrds our population as vote banks in terms of castes.

    i just wanna share my opinion.. Mr M prasad may also consider this as a reply for his “senseful” comments. Each and everything has two faces. Good and bad and it depends upon the person’s view towards it. Wat pratap has said is in the view of a true citizen of the nation and not as a weed of BJP. In the begining of the article itself he has mentioned the qualifications of our PM. Any person with these many qualifications will certainly call for a healthy debate. Its unfortunate that our PM has not lended his hand for such debate. When someone dare to do that, atleast he could have agreed for that. Wats pulling him back and wats the reason for his denial to the invi sent by advaniji for the “debate”? Wat do we consider this action of our PM? If u speak abt the achievements, wat has congress done so for being in the power for more than four decades? Is the time is not sufficient? Being an IT professional dont u even know know newspaper is one of the powerful media which reaches the mass than the campaigns? if you r really interested, y dont u start a new campaign against all political dramas? A good journalist will always keep alarming the people as wats going around and works for the social welfare. thats wat Mr pratap has been doing.
