ಭಿನ್ನಹಕೆ ಬಾಯಿಲ್ಲವಯ್ಯ ಅನಂತ ಅಪರಾಧಗಳು
ಎನ್ನೊಳಿರಲಾಗಿ….
ಅನ್ನ ಮದ ಅರ್ಥ ಮದ
ಅಷ್ಟೈಶ್ವರ್ಯ ಮದ
ಮುನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ಮದವು, ರೂಪ ಮದವು….

ದುರಹಂಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಗಂಜಿಗೂ ಗತಿಯಿಲ್ಲ ದಂತಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಅಂತ ೫೦೦ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ಪುರಂದರ ದಾಸರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರು. ಕಳೆದ ಮೂರ್ನಾಲ್ಕು ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳಿಂದ ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದರೆ ದಾಸರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದ ಮಾತು ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಎಷ್ಟು ನಿಜ ಎನಿಸಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದೆ. ಫ್ಲ್ಯಾಟು, ಸೈಟು ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲ ಗಂಜಿಯ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕೆಲವರು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಕೆಲಸ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೆ, ಉಳಿದವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಸರದಿ ಯಾವ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲೂ ಬರಬಹುದು ಎಂಬ ಆತಂಕ ದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಐಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರು ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ಮೇಲೆತ್ತಿ ದಡಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಕಿದ ಮೀನಿನಂತಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಹಾಗಂತ ಯಾರೂ ಇವರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅನುಕಂಪ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ!

‘ಬಹಳ ಹಾರಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು, ತಕ್ಕ ಶಾಸ್ತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ’ ಎಂದು ಉಳಿದವರು ಒಂದು ರೀತಿ rejoice ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ!! ಆದರೆ ಅದು ಶ್ರೀಮಂತಿಕೆಯ ಮೇಲಿನ ಮತ್ಸರದಿಂದಲ್ಲ. ಇವತ್ತು ಒಬ್ಬ ಸಾಫ್ಟ್‌ವೇರ್ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಅಥವಾ ಬಿಪಿಒ, ಕೆಪಿಒದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವರು ಕೆಲಸ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅವರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸಮಾಜ ಕಿಂಚಿತ್ತೂ ಅನುಕಂಪವನ್ನು ತೋರದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರು ಅವರೇ.

Force of the market is force of the devil ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು ಗಾಂಧೀಜಿ. ಅವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಐಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರು ಯಾವತ್ತೂ ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಪ್ಪ ನಿವೃತ್ತಿಯಾಗುವಾಗ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸಂಬಳವನ್ನು ಮಗ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಮೊದಲ ತಿಂಗಳೇ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ. ಹಾಗೆಂದು ಐಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಅಷ್ಟು ಸಂಬಳ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು ತಪ್ಪು ಅಂತ ಯಾರೂ ಭಾವಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟು ದುಡಿಯುವವರಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸಂಬಳ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಬೇಡ ಎನ್ನಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೆ? ಇಪ್ಪತ್ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೇ ಕೈ ತುಂಬ ದುಡ್ಡೇನೋ ಬಂತು, ದುಡ್ಡಿನ ಬೆಲೆ ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ವಯಸ್ಸು ಅದಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ದುಡ್ಡು ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರ “Attitude”ಗಳೇ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದವು. “ನನ್ನ ದುಡ್ಡು, ನಾನು ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಎನ್ನಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ನಿಮಗೆ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲ, ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಯಾರಾ ದರೂ ನೋವು ತೋಡಿಕೊಂಡರೆ, “ಟ್ಯಾಕ್ಸ್ ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ವಾ, ನಾವು ಕಟ್ಟುತ್ತಿರುವ ಟ್ಯಾಕ್ಸ್‌ನಿಂದಾಗಿಯೇ ಸರಕಾರ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ” ಎಂಬ ಉಡಾಫೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಅರ್ಹತೆ ಮೀರಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಸಂಬಳ ‘ಪ್ರಾಯ ಬರುವ ಮುನ್ನದ ಮದ’ಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಯಿತು. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ತಮಗೂ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ (ಸೋಷಿಯಲ್ ರೆಸ್ಪಾನ್ಸಿಬಿಲಿಟಿ) ಇದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಇವರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.

ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಚಳವಳಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿ.

ಆಗಲೂ ಆಗರ್ಭ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರಿದ್ದರು. ಮೋತಿ ಲಾಲ್ ನೆಹರು, ಜಮ್ನಾ ಲಾಲ್ ಬಜಾಜ್, ಬಿರ್ಲಾ ಅವರಂತಹ ಕೋಟ್ಯಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ಬಂಗಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಡಂಬರದ ಜೀವನ ನಡೆಸಬಹುದಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಭೋಗದ ಆಸೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟ ಅವರು, ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಚಳವಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ಹಣಕಾಸು ನೆರವು ನೀಡುವ ಜತೆಗೆ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಬಂದು ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಸ್ವತಃ ಬೀದಿಗಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರು. ಒಬ್ಬ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಭಾರತೀಯನ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯನಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಡಿದರು. ಅಂತಹ ಸರಳ ನಡೆ, ನುಡಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಜೀವನದ ಮೂಲಕ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಒಂದು ಮೇಲ್ಪಂಕ್ತಿ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಅವರ ವೇಷ-ಭೂಷಣಗಳೂ ಯಾರ ಕಣ್ಣುಕುಕ್ಕುವಂತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರು ಎಂದು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಅನಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಂತಹ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರೇ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರಂತೆ ಹೋರಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಇನ್ನು ನಾವು ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಾದರೂ ಹೇಗೆ ಎಂಬ ಭಾವನೆ ಇತರರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡತೊಡಗಿತು. ಹೀಗೆ ದೇಶವೇ ಒಂದಾಗಿ ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಹೋರಾಟ ನಡೆಸಿತು.

ಇವತ್ತು ಅಂತಹ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ.

ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಈ ‘First Time Rich’ ಅಥವಾ ‘Neo-Rich’ ಅಥವಾ Neo-Capitalists’ಗಳಿದ್ದಾರಲ್ಲಾ ಅವರು “ಅಲ್ಪನಿಗೆ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯ ಬಂದರೆ ಅರ್ಧರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಡೆ ಹಿಡಿದ” ಎಂಬ ನಾಣ್ನುಡಿಯನ್ನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಸಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಇಂತಹ ವರ್ತನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಪನಿಗಳು ಬಹಳ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿಯೇ ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡವು. ಮೊದಲೆಲ್ಲ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಅಕೌಂಟ್ ತೆರೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದರೆ ಅದೇ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಖಾತೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬರ ಸಹಿ ಬೇಕಿತ್ತು, ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಮೇನೇಜರ್ ಎದುರು ಕೈಕಟ್ಟಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ತನಗೇಕೆ ಅಕೌಂಟ್ ಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮನವರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡಬೇಕಿತ್ತು, ಖಾತೆ ತೆರೆಯುವಾಗ ಇಂತಿಷ್ಟು ಠೇವಣಿ ಇಡಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಐಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಚ್ಛ್ರಾಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ತಲುಪುವ ಜತೆಗೆ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್‌ಗಳೂ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದವು. ಒಬ್ಬ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ದಿನವೇ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳು ಆತನ ಕೈಗೊಂದು ಪಾಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಚೆಕ್ ಬುಕ್, ಎಟಿಎಂ ಕಾರ್ಡ್ ಜತೆಗೊಂದು ಕ್ರೆಡಿಟ್ ಕಾರ್ಡ್ ಕೊಡಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದವು. ದುಡ್ಡು ಬಿಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಎಟಿಎಂ, ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡಲು ಕ್ರೆಡಿಟ್ ಕಾರ್ಡ್. ಅಂದರೆ ಕಾಸು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳು ಅದನ್ನು ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡುವ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನೂ ತೋರಿದವು. ಅಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ಸರಕಾರವೆಂಬುದು “Welfare Oriented” ಆಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಕಂಪನಿಗಳೇನಿದ್ದರೂ “Profit oriented”. ಉದ್ಧಾರ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಎಷ್ಟು ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡಿಸಬಹುದು, ಎಷ್ಟು ಗಿಟ್ಟುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನೇ ಲೆಕ್ಕಹಾಕುತ್ತವೆ. ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೆರಡು, ಇಪ್ಪತ್ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷ ಇಂತಹ ತಂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ವಯಸ್ಸಲ್ಲ. ‘ನಾವು ದುಡಿದಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನಾವೇ ತಿನ್ನಬೇಕು’ ಎಂಬ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಯುವಜನಾಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರು ಬೀಡಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿತು. “ನಮ್ಮಪ್ಪ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ-ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ನಿವೃತ್ತಿಯಾಗುವವರೆಗೂ ದುಡಿದ, ಈಗ ಅನುಭವಿಸಲು ಆರೋಗ್ಯವೇ ಸರಿಯಿಲ್ಲ” ಅಂತ ಅದಕ್ಕೊಂದು ಸಮಜಾಯಿಷಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡರು. ಭವಿಷ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕೂಡಿಡುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯೋಚಿಸುವುದನ್ನೇ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು. “ನನ್ನ ದುಡ್ಡು-ನಾನು ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ, ನಾನು ದುಡಿಯು ತ್ತೇನೆ-ನಾನೇ ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಎಂಬ ಧೋರಣೆ ಜೀವನವನ್ನೇ ದಿಕ್ಕುತಪ್ಪಿಸಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿತು. ‘ಇಂದು ಕಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟರೆ ನಾಳೆ ಸುಖ’ ಅಲ್ಲ, ‘ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ ಕಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟರೆ ಸಂಜೆಯೇ ಸುಖ ಅನುಭವಿಸಬೇಕು’, “ನಾನು, ನನ್ನದು, ನಾನೇ”… ಇವುಗಳು ಎಂತಹ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದವು ಎಂದರೆ ಅವರ “ವರ್ಕ್ ಕಲ್ಚರ್” ಮೇಲೆಯೇ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದವು.

ಐಟಿಯವರು ಒಂಥರಾ “Salary oriented workers” ಆಗಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟರು.

ಅವರದ್ದೇ ಆದ ಒಂದು “ವರ್ಕ್ ಕಲ್ಚರ್” ಏನಿದೆ ಹೇಳಿ? ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಿಲಿಟರಿಯವನು ಎಂದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಶಿಸ್ತುಬದ್ಧ ಜೀವನ ನೆನಪಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಒಬ್ಬ ಶಿಸ್ತುಬದ್ಧ ಜೀವನ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದರೆ ಕೂಡ, ‘ಅವನು ಬಿಡಪ್ಪ ಶಿಸ್ತಿನ ಸಿಪಾಯಿ’ ಎಂದು ಜನ ಹೇಳುವುದನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಮೇಷ್ಟ್ರು ವಿಷಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಥಟ್ಟನೆ “ಗುರು” ಎಂಬ ಭಾವನೆ ಮೂಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಒಬ್ಬ ವಿeನಿ ಎಂದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ‘ದೇಶ ಸೇವೆ’ಯ ನೆನಪಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಂದರೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ವೃತ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಅವುಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಮೂಲತಃ ವೃತ್ತಿಗಳೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ಆ ವೃತ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವವರೂ ಸಂಬಳ ಪಡೆಯುವವರೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ಆ ವೃತ್ತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅವುಗಳದ್ದೇ ಒಂದು ವೈಶಿಷ್ಟ್ಯ, ಗುಣ-ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳಿವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಐಟಿ ಎಂದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಏನು ನೆನಪಾಗುತ್ತದೆ? ಐಟಿ ಬೂಮ್ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಿ ೧೫ ವರ್ಷಗಳೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಅವರು ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಒಬ್ಬ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಐಟಿ ಎಂದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ನೆನಪಾಗುವುದು ಬರೀ ದುಡ್ಡು!!

ಹಾಗಂತ ಜನರನ್ನು ದೂರಿ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಿಲ್ಲ.

‘ದುಡ್ಡಿಗಿಂತ ಕಸುಬು ಕಲಿಯಬೇಕು’ ಎಂಬ ಮೆಂಟಾಲಿಟಿ ಐಟಿಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಸೋಮವಾರ ಬಂದರೆ ಯಾವಾಗ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ಬರುತ್ತದೋ ಎಂಬ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿ. ಇಂತಹ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಿಂದಾಗಿ, ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಲ್ಲು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದಿದೆಯೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನಲ್ಲಾ ಅಂತಹ ಕೌಬಾಯ್‌ನಂತಾದರು. ಅಂದರೆ ‘ಜಾಸ್ತಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ’ ಕೌಬಾಯ್ ಮೆಂಟಾಲಿಟಿ. ವೃತ್ತಿ ನಿಷ್ಠೆ ಇವರಿಗೆ ಬರಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಅವರ ನಿಷ್ಠೆಯೇನಿದ್ದರೂ ದುಡ್ಡಿಗೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಐಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕತ್ತೆಯಂತೆ ದುಡಿದರೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ‘ವರ್ಕ್ ಕಲ್ಚರ್’ ಬರಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ದುಡ್ಡಿನ ‘ಪ್ರಮಾಣ’ದ ಅರಿ ವಾಯಿತಾದರೂ ಅದರ ‘ಮೌಲ್ಯ’ದ ಅಂದಾಜು ಸಿಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕಿಸೆಯಿಂದ ನೋಟನ್ನು ಎಳೆದುಕೊಡುವ ಮೊದಲು, ವಸ್ತುವಿನ ನೈಜ ಬೆಲೆಯನ್ನು ನಾಲ್ಕಾರು ಕಡೆ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ ಕೊಡಬೇಕು, ಕೇಳಿದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಕೇಳಿದಷ್ಟನ್ನು ಕೊಡಬಾರದು, ಅದರಿಂದ ದುಡ್ಡಿಲ್ಲದವರ ಮೇಲೆ ದುಷ್ಪರಿಣಾಮವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ಯೋಚನೆಯೇ ಅವರ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನಮ್ಮಪ್ಪ ಪೈಸಾ ಪೈಸಾ ಲೆಕ್ಕಹಾಕಿ ಕೂಡಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಮನೆ ಖರ್ಚಿಗೆಂದು ಅಪ್ಪ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅಮ್ಮ ಜಿಗುಟಿ ಕೂಡಿಹಾಕಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಮಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಯಿತು, ನಾವೂ ಕೂಡಿಡಬೇಕು, ಕಂಡಾಪಟ್ಟೆ ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಮನೆಯೂ ಹಾಳಾಗುತ್ತದೆ, ಕಾಸಿಲ್ಲದವರ ಮೇಲೂ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಪರಿ ಣಾಮವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ, ಇತರರಲ್ಲಿ ಹತಾಶೆ ನೆಲೆಗೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು. ಈ ಯಾವ ಅಂಶಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೂ ತಲೆಕೆಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
ಒಂದು ಹಂತದವರೆಗೂ ಸುಮ್ಮನಿದ್ದ ಕೆಲವು ಜನರು, ಐಟಿ ಯವರ ಕಿಸೆ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಣ್ಣುಹಾಕಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು.

ಇವತ್ತು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ, ಮಡಿಕೇರಿ, ಹಾಸನ, ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗಳೂರು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೋಟದ ಮನೆಗಳ ಮುಂದೆಲ್ಲ “ಹೋಮ್ ಸ್ಟೇ” ಎಂಬ ಬೋರ್ಡು ನೇತು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ವಾರದ ಐದು ದಿನ ದುಡಿದು ಶನಿವಾರ, ಭಾನುವಾರವೂ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದು ಹೊಗೆ ಕುಡಿಯಲು ಯಾವ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿ ಕೂಡ ಇಷ್ಟಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ರಾತ್ರಿಯೇ ‘ಇನೋವಾ’ ಬುಕ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಬಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇವರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯವರು ಯಾವ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದರೆ ಸ್ವಂತ ಮನೆಯನ್ನೇ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಟ್ಟು ಶೆಡ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಡಾರ ಹೂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. “ಒಂದೆರಡು ದಿನ ಮನೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಐದಾರು ಸಾವಿರ ರೂ. ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ” ಎಂಬ ಲಾಭದ ಯೋಚನೆ. ಒಂದು ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ‘ಅಷ್ಟೊಂದು’ ಚಾರ್ಜ್ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆಯೇ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರೆ, “ಯಾರಪ್ಪನ ದುಡ್ಡು ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ, ತಿಂಗಳಿಗೆ ಮೂವತ್ತು ನಲ್ವತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದಲ್ವಾ?” ಎಂದು ಕಾರಣ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ‘ಅಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ ನಾವು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಚಾರ್ಜ್ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಕ್ವಾಲಿಟಿ ಸರಿಯಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂತ ಐಟಿಯವರು ಭಾವಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ’ ಎಂದು ಸಬೂಬು ನೀಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ವಾರಾಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಡುದಾರಿ ಹಿಡಿಯುವ, ತೋಟದ ಮನೆ ಹುಡುಕುವ ಐಟಿಯವರಿಂದಾಗಿ ‘ಹೋಮ್ ಸ್ಟೇ’, ‘ಮಾಲ್’ಗಳ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ದೋಚುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಇತ್ತ ಐಟಿ ಎಂಬ ದುಡ್ಡು ಕೊಡುವ ‘ಜಾಬ್ ಮಾರ್ಕೆಟ್’ನಿಂದ ‘ಮ್ಯಾರೇಜ್ ಮಾರ್ಕೆಟ್’ ಕೂಡ ರಂಗೇರಿತು. ಬಿಕಾಂ, ಬಿಎಸ್ಸಿ ಓದಿದವಳೂ ತನ್ನ ಅರ್ಹತೆ ಎಷ್ಟೇ ಇದ್ದರೂ ಐಟಿ ಗಂಡನೇ ಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದಳು. ಐಟಿ ಅಲ್ಲದವರು ಮೂರು ಕಾಸಿಗೂ ಬೇಡದವರು ಎಂಬ ಭಾವನೆ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ, ಫೀಲಿಂಗ್ಸ್ ಕೂಡ ‘ಮಾರ್ಕೆಟ್ ಓರಿಯೆಂಟೆಡ್’ ಆಗಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಐಟಿ ಉಪಟಳ ಎಷ್ಟಾಗಿತ್ತು ಎಂದರೆ ಇತರ ವೃತ್ತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಬಳ ಎಷ್ಟೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ನಾಚಿಕೆ, ಮುಜುಗರಪಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಇತ್ತು. ಈ ನಾಡಲ್ಲಿ ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಜಾಗವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಬಡವರೇ ಇರಬಾರದು ಎಂಬ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿ ಯಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.

ಖಂಡಿತ ದುಡ್ಡು ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಇಷ್ಟಪಡುವಂತಹ ವಸ್ತುವೇ.

ಆದರೆ ದುಡ್ಡಿನ ಒಳಹರಿವಿನಿಂದ ಬರುವ ‘ಎಕಾನಮಿಕ್ ಎಂಪವರ್‌ಮೆಂಟ್’ ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ ‘ಸೋಷಿಯಲ್ ಎಂಪವರ್ ಮೆಂಟ್’ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪರ್ಯವಸಾನಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಆಗಿ ದ್ದೇನು? ಐಟಿ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮೂರು ತಿಂಗಳಿಗೊಮ್ಮೆ ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ಅನಾಥಾಲಯ, ವೃದ್ಧಾಶ್ರಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಒಂದಿಷ್ಟು ಸಮಯ ಕಳೆದು, ನೂರು ರೂ. ನೋಟನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗುವುದೇ ಮಹಾನ್ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಟ್ಯಾಕ್ಸ್ ಕಟ್ಟುವುದೇ ಈ ಸಮಾಜ ಹಾಗೂ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ನಾವು ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿಯೇ ಕಳಪೆ ರಸ್ತೆ, ಲೋಡ್‌ಶೆಡ್ಡಿಂಗ್ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹರಿಹಾಯುವ ಐಟಿ ದೊರೆಗಳಿಗೆ ರಸ್ತೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ, ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಸ್ಥಾವರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂಡವಾಳ ತೊಡಗಿಸುವುದೂ ಕೂಡ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸೇವೆ, ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಎಂದನಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶ ಕಟ್ಟಿದ ಟಾಟಾ, ಬಿರ್ಲಾ ಇವರಿಗೆ ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇನ್ನು ಇಂತಹ ಮಾಲೀಕರ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವವರಿಂದ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ?

ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಇವತ್ತು ಪ್ರಗತಿಯ ಮಾನದಂಡಗಳೇ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿವೆ. ಸೆಲ್‌ಫೋನ್‌ಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಇಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದೆ, ಟೆಲಿಕಾಂ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಇಷ್ಟು ಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಅಳೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸೆಲ್‌ಫೋನ್ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯ ಸಂಕೇತವೇ? ಒಂದು ಪುಟ್ಟ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಕೂಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲೂ ವಿಚಿತ್ರ ನಮೂನೆಯ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಸೆಟ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಆತನಿಗೆ ಕೂಲಿಯಿಂದ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ೧೨೦ ರೂ. ಬಂದರೆ, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ೫೦ ರೂ. ಕಿವಿ ಬಳಿ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು “ಹಲೋ……” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗುವುದಕ್ಕೇ ಬೇಕು. ಎಷ್ಟು ಜೋರಾಗಿ ಕೂಗಿದರೂ ಅತ್ತ ಕಡೆ ಇರುವವರಿಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಕೇಳಬೇಕೋ ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಕೇಳುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಅರಿವು ಇಲ್ಲದವರೂ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ದಾಸರಾಗಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವು ಐಟಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಾಗತೀಕರಣ ಪ್ರೇರಿತ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗಳು. ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾವ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಗತಿ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತೀರಿ? ಹಣ, ಶ್ರೀಮಂತಿಕೆ ಬಂದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಒಂದು ಸಮಾಜ ಉದ್ಧಾರವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಸಮಗ್ರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಹೊಂದುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಲಿ ಭಾರತವೇ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಉದಾಹರಣೆ.

ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ, ಶಿರಸಿ, ಸಾಗರ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲೊಂದು ವಿಚಿತ್ರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿದೆ. ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಅಪ್ಪ-ಅಮ್ಮಂದಿರು ಅಂಗೈ ಅಗಲದ ಅಡಕೆ ತೋಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟು ದುಡಿದು, ಬೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಏರು-ಪೇರನ್ನೂ ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಸಾಫ್ಟ್‌ವೇರ್ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರ್‌ಗಳಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮಕ್ಕಳು ದುಡಿಯಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ಮನೆ, ಊರು ಉದ್ಧಾರವಾಗಬೇಕಿತ್ತು ತಾನೇ? ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ದುಡ್ಡಿನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಗತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಊರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತೋಟ ಅರ್ಧ, ಒಂದು ಎಕರೆಯಿಂದ ಎರಡು, ಮೂರು ಎಕರೆಗಳಾಗಬೇಕಿತ್ತು ಅಲ್ಲವೆ? ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನಾದರೂ ಕಾಣಬೇಕಿತ್ತು ಅನಿಸುವು ದಿಲ್ವಾ? ಆದರೆ ಈ ಭಾಗದ ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ‘ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಜನರೇ ಸಿಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ, ಅಡಕೆಗೆ ಬೆಲೆಯೂ, ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ತೋಟದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲ’ ಎಂಬ ಕೊರಗು ಕೇಳಿಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಊರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ತೋಟವನ್ನು ಕೇರಳದ ಕಾಕಾಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾರಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಸೇರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಪ್ಪ-ಅಮ್ಮ ಯಾವ ಕೃಷಿಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಓದಿಸಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾ ವಂತರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದರೋ ಆ ಕೃಷಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯಾಗಲಿ, ಭೂಮಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯಾಗಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲದಾಗಿದೆ. ಮುಂದೊಂದು ದಿನ ಕಾಕಾಗಳು ಶಿರಸಿ, ಸಾಗರ, ಬನವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಭಟ್ಕಳವನ್ನಾಗಿಸಿದರೂ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯ ವಿಲ್ಲ!
ಇದೇನೇ ಇರಲಿ, ಎಲ್ಲ ಭಾಗಗಳ ಜನರೂ ಒಂದಿಲ್ಲೊಂದು ನೆಪ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡು, ‘ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದುಡ್ಡಿದೆ’ ಎಂಬ ದೂರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಸೇರುತ್ತಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ವಿನಾಕಾರಣ ಎಲ್ಲದರ ಬೆಲೆಗಳೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗುತ್ತಿವೆ.

ಇಂತಹ ಒಂದು ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಹೋಳಿ ಹುಣ್ಣಿಮೆಯ ದಿನ ಜೋರಾಗಿ ಮಳೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಏನಾಗಬಹುದೋ ಹಾಗೆ “ಇಕನಾಮಿಕ್ ರಿಸೆಷನ್”(ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಹಿಂಜರಿತ) ಆಗಮಿಸಿದೆ. ರಿಸೇಷನ್ ಎಂಬ ಭಾರೀ ಮಳೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಬಣ್ಣ ತೊಳೆದುಹೋಗಿ ನಗ್ನದರ್ಶನವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದು ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿನ್ನಡೆ ಎಂದು ಗೊತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಬೇಕಾದ, ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಒಂದು ಆಶಾಕಿರಣವನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ನಾವೇ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ೯/೧೧ ನಂತರ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದೇ ಒಂದು ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕ ದಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಬೀಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅಮೆರಿಕ ಅಸಹಾಯಕವಾಗಿ ನಿಂತಿದೆ. ಲಾಡೆನ್‌ಗೆ ಹೆದರದ ಅಮೆರಿಕ ರಿಸೆಷನ್‌ಗೆ ಬೆದರಿ ಕುಳಿತಿದೆ. ಅಮೆರಿಕವನ್ನೇ ನಂಬಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಭಾರತದ ಐಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಕೂಡ ಕುಸಿದು ಬೀಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದೆ. ಖಂಡಿತ ಐಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಮಗ್ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಮತ್ಸರವಿಲ್ಲ. ಐಟಿಯಿಂದಾಗಿಯೇ ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಶ್ವಮಾನ್ಯತೆ ದೊರೆಯಿತು, ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಬದಲಾವಣೆಗಳಾದವು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಪ್ಪುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಐಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳಾಗಲಿ, ಮಾಲೀಕರಾಗಲಿ ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಐಟಿ ಬಿದ್ದು ಹೋದರೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು? ಎಂಬುದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಎಂದೂ ಯೋಚಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ೧೯೯೧ರ ನಂತರ ಅಂದರೆ ನರಸಿಂಹರಾವ್ ನೀತಿಗಳ ಲಾಭ ಪಡೆದು ರಾತ್ರೋರಾತ್ರಿ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರಾಗಿ ಮಧ್ಯಮವರ್ಗದವರ ಹೀರೋಗಳಾದ ಐಟಿ ದೊರೆಗಳು ಅಮೆರಿಕ, ಬ್ರಿಟನ್‌ನ ದುಡ್ಡನ್ನು ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದರೇ ಹೊರತು, ಆ ದುಡ್ಡಿನಿಂದ ತಂತ್ರeನವನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸ ಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಿಡಿದು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಾಫ್ಟ್‌ವೇರ್ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಐಟಿ ಕೂಲಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದರೇ ಹೊರತು ಐಬಿಎಂ, ಮೈಕ್ರೋಸಾಫ್ಟ್, ಆಪಲ್‌ಗಳಂತೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗೆ (ಆರ್ ಆಂಡ್ ಡಿ) ಬಂಡವಾಳ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ಭದ್ರಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಅವರ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದವರೂ ಕೂಡ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ದುಡ್ಡನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಡುವ ಬದಲು ಶೋಕಿ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಇವತ್ತು ನಮ್ಮ ಯಾವ ಖ್ಯಾತನಾಮ ಐಟಿ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳ ಬಳಿ ಪೇಟೆಂಟ್‌ಗಳಿವೆ ಹೇಳಿ? ಜಾಸ್ತಿ ಕೂಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಾಧನೆಯೆಂದು ಬೀಗುವುದರ ಹೊರತು ಭಾರತದ ಐಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹಸನಾಗಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಯಾರೂ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇವತ್ತು ಒಬ್ಬ ಐಟಿಯವನು ಕೆಲಸ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಪ್ಯಾನಿಕ್ ಆಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬೇರೆ ಕೆಲಸವೂ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ, ತನ್ನ ಭವಿಷ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿಡುವುದೂ ಒಂದು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನೂ ಕಲಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ತ ಅರ್ಥಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞರಾದ ಅಮರ್ತ್ಯ ಸೇನ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಜೀನ್ ಡ್ರೆಝ್ ಅವರ “Being rich doesn’t mean being happy” ಎಂಬ ಮಾತು ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಅರ್ಥಗರ್ಭಿತ. ದುಡ್ಡಿನಿಂದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಅಳೆಯಲಾಗದು, ನಾಲ್ಕು ಜನ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರಾದ ಮಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ದೇಶ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾದಂತಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಿರೂಪಿಸಲು ಇವರು “ಹ್ಯೂಮನ್ ಡೆವೆಲಪ್‌ಮೆಂಟ್ ಇಂಡೆಕ್ಸ್” ಎಂಬ ಹೊಸ ಮಾನದಂಡವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ವಿಶ್ವಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಇವರಿಬ್ಬರುಗಳು ನೀಡಿದ ಸಲಹೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿಯೇ ಏಷ್ಯಾ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಫ್ರಿಕಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ “ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ಊಟ”(ಮಿಡ್ ಡೇ ಮೀಲ್ಸ್) ಯೋಜನೆ ಯನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತಂದಿದ್ದು. ೧. ಆತ್ಮಗೌರವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾನ ಅವಕಾಶ, ೨. ಆರೋಗ್ಯ, ೩. ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ೪. ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೂ ಇವರೇ. ಕೆಲವು ಮೂಲಭೂತ ವೃತ್ತಿಗಳ (ಫಂಡಮೆಂಟಲ್ ಆಕ್ಯುಪೇಶನ್ಸ್) ಮೇಲೆ ಸಮಾಜ ನಿಂತಿದೆ. ಇವುಗಳಾಚೆಯ ಯಾವುದೋ ಒಂದು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಅಸಹಜವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾದರೆ, ಆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದವರು ಅತಿಯಾಗಿ ವರ್ತಿಸಿದರೆ ಅದರಿಂದ ಸಮಾಜದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಗುವುದು ಕೆಟ್ಟಪರಿಣಾಮವೇ. ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಐಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು, False pride ನಿಂದ ಹೊರಬರುವಂತಾಗಲು, ಕೂಡಿಡುವುದನ್ನು ಕಲಿಯಲು ಇಂಥದ್ದೊಂದು ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಹಿಂಜರಿತ ಬೇಕಿತ್ತು ಎನಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ಐಟಿಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು ಉದ್ಧಾರ ವಾದವು ಎಂಬುದು ಎಷ್ಟು ಸತ್ಯವೋ, ಐಟಿಯವರ ಹಣದ ಮದದಿಂದಾಗಿ ಹತ್ತು ಪಟ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು ಸಂಕಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ಸಿಲುಕಿದವು ಎಂಬುದು ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಸತ್ಯ.

ಎಂಬ ಬೇಂದ್ರೆಯವರ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಇನ್ನಾದರೂ ಅರ್ಥ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದರೆ ಹೆಗಲ ಮೇಲೆಯೇ ಹೊತ್ತು ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

Good article .
Ground realty is an engineer in PWD or KEB, RTO or sub registaror are the many times richer than an IT engineer.IT engineer earns atleast legally, where as other kind earn illegally.
At least IT people put money back to system by spending or over spending what about politicians who transfer all the wealth to SWISS.
You did not touch upon the topic of real estate. Because of IT BOOM
IT people became so much greedy they started invetsing badly in real estate. It only took away the dream of a small house of a common man. even they are struggling to PAY their EMI.(LAW OF KARMA)
A school teacher, Bank clerk etc who just live by their salaries and no additional income like KEB or PWD cannot even think of a owning an house.
I know people who have given up desire of a house in their life time only and accpetedto live in rented house.

It is first government which has to invest in R&D things will follow later.
India has only 4-5 world class education institues and all these guys go to USA or Europe after graduation. Then where is R&D. you have conveniently left out the fact that IT heads were requesting govt to allow them to start their own education.

You say lack of labour in village sto work in field. I will why will some one work all day to get meger Rs100/day when he can earn more than as working as a security gaurd in IT company.
You cannot reject that IT injected wealth into system but people miss used it.

ಮೊನ್ನೆ ಮೊನ್ನೆ ಹಾಯ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಲೇಖನದಲ್ಲೂ ಹೀಗೆ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದರು.ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ೨-೩ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ೨ ಕಾರು,೨ ಬಂಗಲೆ.. ಅಬ್ಬಬ್ಬಾ!! ಅದು ಹೇಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವೋ?

ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಬಳ ಸಿಕ್ಕರೆ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ತಪ್ಪೇನಿದೆ? ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ವರದಿಗಳು ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆ ಯಾವ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಯೋಚಿಸಿ.ಅಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ಎಲ್ಲ ಐ.ಟಿ ಕಂಪೆನಿಗಳು ಹಣದ ಮಳೆ ಸುರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.ಕೆಲ ಸಣ್ಣ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಕಂಪೆನಿಗಳು ಇವೆ.ಪಾಪ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಇಂತ ವರದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಓದಿದ ಜನ (ಅಂದರೆ ಮನೆಯ ಮಾಲೀಕ ಇರಬಹುದು) ಒಂದಕ್ಕೆರಡರಷ್ಟು ಹಣ ಕೇಳಿದರೆ, ಆ ಬಡಪಾಯಿ ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ತರಬೇಕು?

ಸುಖಾ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಅರ್ಧ ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನಷ್ಟೇ ಹೇಳಿ , ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಜನರಲೈಸ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಾತಾಡಿ , ಜನರ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಐ.ಟಿ ಯವರೆಂದರೆ ಅಪಾರ್ಥ(ಅಪಾರ+ಅರ್ಥ) ಬರುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಇನ್ನಾದರೂ ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ.

Nice article,
good article in the perfect situation.
But point which shivanand raised are also worth noting .
Before people used to go only to govt. job at that time was it easy to get job?
If there is an well qualified person also at first point only there comes reservation which is up to 50% and if get through written and so you will not get job until you bribe which has so crept in system that you can bring out a standards to it like a hotel menu rather a scientific standard .Even public sectors also ask for bribe to get a job.At such a time you would get a job in so called IT(a proper word may electronic empowered industry) why should on think about other things.

To make a point it’s not only IT which is hit,the automobile industry is hit and it is like chain reaction IT is part of it,IT will persist but not every tom,dick and harry can survive) )
Another point there are lot of poor and middle class people who benefited from this.
However the point that R&D is not developed is good one that could be a major concern but not everybody has potential to do it but the scale in which it should be done is primary concern.The time when population was 30 cr there were 7iit now when it is 110 cr we have almost same no and private people mostly run for profit and really talented people don’t get there.
The main thing is whatever happened in last 7-8 years is like a dream which is like virtual environment. let’s now come to reality which we should face

Hi Prathap,
Though I dint read[I dint want to] read your article about IT bashing. Let me tell you some facts:
1. Most of the money that is coming to India all in all is only because of IT. They are the one who are getting money.
2. You are mentioning about the IT people giving more money but this is just one side of it. If you know that some one can afford more than needed then all the people would try to take it from him. Take for example Real Estate or Doctors why did they increase it could be that they know that people have more money. What you mentioned is one side. Do you know who the culprit is ‘No’. Without knowing you cannot comment.
3. You are right we are earning. But do you think that money is with us. It is Non-IT people that are taking it like Real Estate, Hospitals, Banks Auto wallahs and everything. Please don’t be under an impression that we have all the money.
4. There is so much of IT-exploitation that is happening. Go and ask for a rented house. If they know that person is in IT. The owners charger more than needed. The owner are the common man that you have mentioned in the article. Even I am sure you too would ask more if you were an owner.
5. Coming to charity. Do you have any idea how much IT comapnies are donating to charity? It is not just Companies even Software engineers are running NGO’s too. Whose money is it? Government? No way It is the Software engineers money that you are criticising.
6. Coming to any government organisation in India. Do you think they are not doing any exploiation? If they know it is SW[Software Engineer] then they ask more bribe. Talking of bribe. This is some thing which India could never think of also. You see it everywhere.
7. You too are getting fame from writing an article on IT. This level there is dependency. People read it because of IT not because of you.

I would like to request you to get the facts right. I agree that the situation is changed a lot after IT sector coming to Bangalore. But the reason is not just SE as you have mentioned. It is both Non-IT and IT that are the problem creaters. This article is completely one sided.

You agree or not now everything in Bangalore[or India] is unarguably dependent on India. That is why there is a hit to everything. Right from AutoWallah’s to Banks all are dependent on IT sector in India. If you really want to get rid of IT then just imagine once about the situation now if IT is gone.

ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಬರೆದ ಲೇಖನ ಓದಿದೆ.. ಕೆಲವು ಮಾತುಗಳು ಉತ್ಪ್ರೆಕ್ಷೆಯೇನ್ದನಿಸಿದವು. ನನ್ನ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ತಪ್ಪಿದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿ..
ನಿಮ್ಮ ಈ ಲೇಖನ ಓದಿಮುಗಿಸುವಾಗ ಮೊದಲು ನನಗೆ ನೆನಪಾಗಿದ್ದು ಡಿ.ವಿ.ಜಿ ಯವರ ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮನ ಕಗ್ಗದ ಈ ಪದ್ಯ

ಬಹುಷಃ ಈ ಒಂದು ಪದ್ಯ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಲೇಖನಕ್ಕೆ ಉತ್ತರವೆನ್ದನಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೇ??

ನೀವು ಹೇಳಿರುವ ಮಾತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುರುಳಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಅದು ಉತ್ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷೆ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ನನಗೆ ಕಂಡಿತು. ನಾನು ಕಂಡಿರುವಹಾಗೆ ಶೇಕಡಾ ೧೦೦ರಲ್ಲಿ ೭೦ಪಾಲು ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳು ಆಸೆಬುರುಕರು ಎಂದರೆ ಉತ್ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಲಾರದು. ತಮಗೆ ಬರುವ ಸಂಬಳದಲ್ಲಿ ತ್ರುಪ್ತಿಕಾಣುವ ಪ್ರವೃತಿ ಅವರ ಜಾಯಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಉದಾಹರಣೆ Amway, rmp ಏಜೆಂಟ್ ಗಳೊಂತೆ ವರ್ತಿಸುವ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳು.

ಇಂದು ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳು ಪರದಾಟ ನೋಡಿ ಅವರಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕನಿಕರವನು ತೋರದೆ, ಹೀಗೆ ಆಗಬೇಕು ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಇವರನ್ ಹಿದ್ಯೋರ್ ಯಾರು ಅಂತ ಮಾತನಾಡ್ತಿರೋದು ಸತ್ಯ. ಹಾಗಂತ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುವ ಜನ ಸಾಚಾಗಳೇ?? ಹಿಂದೆ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ನೌಕರರಿಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಮರ್ಯಾದೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಮತದ್ಬೇಕಿತು.ಅವ್ರು ಚೀರಾಡಿದ್ರೆ ಅದನ್ ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಲ್ಬೆಕಿತು, ಇಂದು ಅದರ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಬದಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಾಸಗಿ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕುಗಳು ಪೈಪೋಟಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿವೆ. ಇದೇ ಜನ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ, ಇವ್ರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಆಗಬೇಕು ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಇವರನ್ ಬಿಟ್ರೆ ಯಾರು ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂತ ಆಡ್ತಾರೆ ಅಂತ ಬಯಸಲಿಲ್ವೆ ??
ಹಾಗಾದ್ರೆ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಇವರಿಗೂ ಇರುವ ವೆತ್ಯಾಸ??

ನೀವು ಹೇಳಿದಹಾಗೆ ಇಂದು ೧೦೦ರಕ್ಕೆ ೯೯ರಷ್ಟು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಕೈನಲ್ಲೂ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ಗಳ್ಳದೆ ಕಾರುಬಾರು. ಇದೊಂದು ರೀತಿಯ ಫ್ಯಾಷನ್ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಇಲ್ಲದವನು ಏನಕ್ಕೂ ಬಾರದವನು ಎಂಬ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ. ಕೂಲಿ ಕೆಲಸಮಾಡುವವನು ಕೈನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಹಿಡಿದು ಜೋರಾಗಿ ಅರಚುಥ ಬೀದಿಲಿ ಹೋಗ್ತಾನೆ. ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲವರು ಬಸ್ಸುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜೋರಾಗಿ ಹಾಡು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಮಾಡ್ತಾನೆ. ಇಂತಹ ವಿಚಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಶೋಕಿವಾಲರು ಎಂದೆನ್ನಬಹುದೇ?? ಇಂತಹ ಧೋರಣೆಗೆ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಸ್ಗಳ ದುಂದುವೆಚ ಕಾರಣವಾದಿತೆ?? ಇದನ್ನು ಆಸೆಬುರುಕುತನದ ಪರಮಾವದಿ ಯೇನ್ದನ್ನಬಹುದೇ??

ಇಂದು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಕಸ್ಟಪಡಲು ಮನಸಿಲ್ಲ!! ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ದಿಡೀರ್ ಹಣ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಅನ್ನೋದೊಂದೇ ತಲೇಲಿ. ಇಂದು ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಲಿಕೆಲಸದ ಆಳುಗಳು ಸಿಗುವುದು ಕಷ್ಟ. ಕಾರಣ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಇವರನ್ನು ಕೈಬೀಸಿ ಕರಿಯುತಿದೆ. ಬಾರ್, ಕೊರಿಯರ್ ಕೆಲಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರಮಪಡದೆ ಬರುವ ಹಣ, ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲ ಬೆವರಹರಿಸಿ,ಬಿಸಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಯುವುದಕಿಂತ ಇದುವಾಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ!!! ಬಹುಷಃ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳು ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷವಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ಪರೋಕ್ಷ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕಾರಣಕರ್ಥರು ಎಂದರೆ ತಪಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗಂತ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಸ್ಗಳು ಇದರಿಂದ ಹೊರತಲ್ಲ ಎಸ್ಟೋಮಂದಿ ಕಂಪನಿ ಯಿಂದ ಕಂಪನಿಗೆ ಹರುತಲೇ ಇರ್ತಾರೆ. ಇರುವಷ್ಟುದಿನ ಆದಷ್ಟು ಕೈಚಾಚಿ ಹಣ ಬಾಚಿಬಿಡಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಆಸೆ.

ಇನ್ನು ತೋಟ ಗದ್ದೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವವರ ಕಥೆ!!! ಹೇಳಲ್ಲಸಾದ್ಯ… ಒಮ್ಮೆಗೇ ಕೈತುಂಬಾ ಹಣ ಬರುವಾಗ ತೋಟ, ಗದ್ದೆಗಳಿನ್ದಗುವ ಉತ್ಪತಿ ಸಾಸಿವೆಕಾಳಿನಂತೆ ಕಾಣುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೇ!! ತೋಟ, ಗದ್ದೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳುವುದೇ ಎಂಥಹ ಅವಮಾನ!! ಮಾರ್ಕೆಟ್ನಿಂದ ಹಾಲು, ಮೊಸರು ಅಥವ ಇನ್ನ್ಯಾವುದೇ ವಸ್ತುವನ್ನು ಬರೆಕೈನಲ್ಲಿ (ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಕವರ್ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ) ಹಿಡಿದುತರಲು ಹಿಂಜರಿಯುವವರು ತೋಟ ಗದ್ದೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡ್ಕೊಳುಥರೆಯೇ!!! ಇದು ಕೇವಲ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಸ್ಗಳಲಿನ ಪ್ರವ್ರುಥಿಯಲ್ಲ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸಾಮನ್ಯ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯವನಿಗೂ ಹಬ್ಬಿರುವ ಚಾಳಿ. ಇದನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಲಸಾದ್ಯ!!

ಆದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಬೇಕು ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳಿರಲಿ, ಸರಕಾರಿನವುಕರರಾಗಲಿ, ಬಡ ಕೂಲಿಕರ್ಮಿಕನೆ ಆಗಿರಲಿ ಅಥವ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯನೆ ಆಗಿರಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಲ್ಲೂ ಒಂದೇ ಜಪ ಅದು ಬೇಕು ಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವ ಜಪ. ಇವತ್ತು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಈ ಭೂತಾಯಿ ಬೇಕಿಲ್ಲ ಆದ್ರೆ ಅವಳಿಂದ ಉತ್ಪಥಿಯಾಗುವ ಅನ್ನಬೇಕು, ದುಡಿಯುವ ಮನಸಿಲ್ಲ ಆದ್ರೆ ಲೋಕದಲಿರೋ ಎಲ್ಲ ವಸ್ತುವು ಬೇಕು. ಇದು ನಿಲ್ಲದಕಥೆ… ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಪದ್ಯ ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ

ಇಂದಿನಪರಿಸ್ತಿತಿಗೆ ಬರಿ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳು ಮಾತ್ರ ಕಾರಣಕರ್ಥರಲ್ಲ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ತುಂಬಿರುವ ಬೇಕು ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಯೇನ್ದನಿಸುವುದಿಲವೇ?? ದುಕ್ಕದ ಸಂಗತಿಯೆಂದರೆ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯವಂಥರು ಎಂದೆನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರು ಅವಿವೆಕಿಗಳಂತೆ ವರ್ಥಿಸುತಿರುವುದು ದುರಂತವೇ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಮುಂದಿನ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಯ ಚಿಂತೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನಾನು.. ನನ್ನದು.. ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ನಮ್ಮದು ಎನ್ನುವ ವಾಕ್ಯವೇ ಮರೆತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವುಗಳಿಗೆಲ್ಲ ಕಾರಣ ಅತಿಯಾದ ವ್ಯಾಮೋಹ. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದರಮೇಲು ಇರುವ ಅತಿಯಾದ ಆಸೆ ಅವುಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ತನ್ನದಾಗಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಹೆಬ್ಬಯಕೆ, ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸುವವರಾರು!!

ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆಯಾಗಿ ಕೇವಲ ಒಬ್ಬರನು ಬೊಟ್ಟುಮಾಡಿ ತೋರಿಸುವುದಕಿಂತ ಯೇಲ್ಲರಲಿರುವ ವೀಕ್ನೆಸ್ಸ್ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಒಳ್ಳಿತು ಎಂಬುದು ನನ್ನ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ.

ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ ಪ್ರತಾಪ್,
ಈ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಲೇಖನ ಏನೋ ಒಂಥರಾ ಇದೆ! ಹೋಗಳಕ್ಕೂ ಆಗೋಲ್ಲ ತೆಗಳಕ್ಕೂ ಆಗೋಲ್ಲ!

ನನಗೆ ನಿಜವೆನಿಸಿದ್ದು:

೧. ಹಣ immature ಗಳ ಕೈ ಸೇರಿದ್ದು: ಇದು Local Boys ಗೆ ಅನ್ವಯ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ತಂದೆ ತಾಯಿಯ ಜೊತೆ ಇದ್ದು
ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಬೇರೆಡೆ ಇಂದ ಬಂದ ಯುವಕ ಯುವತಿಯರು, ಹೇಳುವವರು ಕೇಳುವವರು ಇಲ್ಲದೆ, ಲಂಗು ಲಗಾಮು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡವರಂತೆ ಆಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈವತ್ತು call center ನವರನ್ನು ವಿವಾಹವಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದೇಟು ಹಾಕುವಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಬಂದೊದಗಿದೆ. ಬಾರ್, ಪಬ್, BF, GF ಅಂತ ಹಾಳಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರಿಗಂತೂ ಹೇಳುವವರು, ಕೇಳುವವರು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಹಣ ಇದೆ, ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಹಾಳುಗೆಡವಿದ್ದಾರೆ. Software companies ಯಾಕೆ ಸ್ಥಳಿಯರಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅವಕಾಶ ಒದಗಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ? ಹಲವಾರು ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಇವರನ್ನು ಇಂಪೋರ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದು ಯಾಕೆ?

೨. ಗಂಡ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಇಬ್ಬರೂ IT ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ಹಡಗಿಗೆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಕ್ಯಾಪ್ಟನ್ ಗಳಾಗಿ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹಡಗುಗಳು ಮುಳುಗಿ ಹೋದವು. ಎಷ್ಟೂ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿ ಹಾಳಾಯಿತು. ಗಂಡ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಇಬ್ಬರೂ Empower ಆದರೆ ಇದು ಕಟ್ಟಿಟ್ಟ ಬುತ್ತಿ, ಇಬ್ಬರೂ Financially Independent ಅಲ್ಲವೇ? ಏನೂ ಮಾಡೋಕೆ ಆಗೋಲ್ಲ… ನಾವು ಅದನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲೇ ಬೇಕು.

ಇನ್ನು, ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಕಡೆ ನೋಡೋಣ:
೧. ಉಳಿತಾಯ ಮಾಡದೇ ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು: ಇದರಿಂದ ಉದ್ದಾರ ಆದದ್ದು ಯಾರು? ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬೇರೆಯವರೇ ತಾನೇ? ಅಂದರೆ ಮನೆ ಮಾಲೀಕರು, ಅಂಗಡಿಯವರು, Iron ಮಾಡುವವರು, ವಾಹನ ಕಂಪನಿಯವರು, ರಿಯಲ್ ಎಸ್ಟೇಟ್ ನವರು, etc, etc….
ಈವತ್ತು ‘ಬಹಳ ಹಾರಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು, ತಕ್ಕ ಶಾಸ್ತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ’ ಎಂದು ‘Rejoice’ ಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ನಾಳೆ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರವಾಗದೆ ಬಾಯಿ ಬಡೆದುಕೊಲ್ಲುವ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಬಂದಾಗ ನಿಜ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಅರಿವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಂದು IT ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ಯಾರು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದ್ದರಿಂದ ಉಸಿರು ಕಟ್ಟಿರಿವುದು ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ. ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಜಯನಗರದ ಕಡೆ ಬಂದು ನೋಡಿ ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ.

೨. Work culture ಇಲ್ಲವೇ? ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಣ್ಣು ತೆಗೆದು ನೋಡಿ. ಸಣ್ಣ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನವರೂ ಕೂಡ Project lead/manager ಗಳಾಗಿ ಕಂಪನಿ ಗಳಿಗೆ success ತಂದು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ! Work culture ಇಲ್ಲದೆಯೇ ಕಂಪನಿ ಗಳು ಲಾಭ ಮಾಡೋಕೆ ಆಗೋಲ್ಲ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ… ‘ದುಡ್ಡಿಗಿಂತ ಕಸುಬು ಕಲಿಯಬೇಕು’ ಎಂಬ ಮೆಂಟಾಲಿಟಿ ಐಟಿಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದಿದ್ದೀರಿ! ಕಸುಬು ಕಲಿಯದೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡೋಕೆ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆಯೇ? ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಸಂಜೆ ಸೋಮಾರಿ ಕಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತು ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ಕಿಚ್ಚಿನಿಂದ ಆಡುವವರ ಮಾತಿನಂತಿದೆ!

೩. ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಲ್ಲು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದಿದೆಯೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನಲ್ಲಾ ಅಂತಹ ಕೌಬಾಯ್‌ನನ್ತಾದರು ಎಂದಿದ್ದೀರಿ: ನಿಮಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿರುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಅಥವಾ ಸರಿಸಮಾನವಾದ ಕೆಲಸ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹಣ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ, ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗದೆ ಇರುವಿರಾ? ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಬಂದಾಗ ೧ ರೂ. ಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಓದುಗರನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೇ, ಹಾಗೆ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಂಬಳ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಕೆಲಸಗಾರರನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಏನು ತಪ್ಪು?

೩. ಶಿವಾನಂದ ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆ ನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿ (White money) ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿದ್ದು ನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿ ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಏನು ತಪ್ಪು? ಅದು White Money ಆದ್ದರಿಂದಲೇ ರಾಜಾರೋಷವಾಗಿ ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು. ಅದರಿಂದ ಲಾಭಕ್ಕೊಳಗಾದದ್ದು ಇತರರೆ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ? ಉಳಿತಾಯ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಯಾರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು? Bank ಗಳನ್ನ ಕೇಳಿ ನೋಡಿ, LIC ಯನ್ನ ಕೇಳಿ ನೋಡಿ, ಫಂಡ್ ಹೌಸ್ ಗಳನ್ನ ಕೇಳಿ ನೋಡಿ. ಯಾವ ಕೆಲಸವೇ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರಲಿ, ಯಾರಿಗಾದರೂ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಂಬಳ ಸಿಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದರೆ ಕಷ್ಟವೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ?

೪. IT ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಏಕೆ ಬಂತು ತಿಳಿದಿದೆಯ? ಅದು ರಾ – ಮೆಟೀರಿಯಲ್ ಬೇಡದೆ ಇರುವ ವೃತ್ತಿ. ಯಾರಿಗೋ ಏನೋ ಬೇಕು, ನಮ್ಮ ಜನಗಳ ಬಳಿ ಬುದ್ದಿವಂತಿಕೆ ಇದೆ, ಜನಗಳೂ ಬಹಳ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಲಾಭ ಹಾಗು ಜನಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಕೊಡಿಸುವ ಸರಕಾರದ ಒಲವು! IT ಗೆ ಮುಂಚೆ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಮರೆತು ಹೋಗಿದೆಯೇ? ತಂದೆ ತಾಯಿ ಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಂತ ಕಾಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಲ್ಲುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವುದೇ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಚಿಂತೆ. ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದು Employment Exchange ಗೆ ಅಲೆದಾಡುವುದೇ ಕೆಲಸ. ನಿರುದ್ಯೋಗವೇ ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲೂ ತಾಂಡವ ಅದುತ್ತಿದ್ದದ್ದು ನೆನಪಿಲ್ಲವೇ? ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲೂ ಲಂಚ. ಇಂದು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಓದುವವರಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಚಿಂತೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಹಾಗು ಹಣ ಕೊಡುವ ವೃತ್ತಿ IT ಅಲ್ಲವೇ? ಈವತ್ತು ಮನೆ ಮನೆ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ Software Engineer ಇರುವುದಾದರೂ ಏಕೆ? ಅದು ಕೇವಲ ಹಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಯೋಚಿಸಿ.

೫. Software ಉದ್ಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಕೂಲಿ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಲಿಸುವವರಿಗೆನು ಕಮ್ಮಿ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬುದ್ದಿಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲ! ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಕೂಲಿ ಕೆಲಸವೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ? ಅದು ಇಂದಿನ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರ ಕೆಲಸ ಹೇಗಾಗುತ್ತದೆ? Software ನಲ್ಲಿ Research, Development, Testing, Maintenance, ಮುಂತಾದ ಬಗೆಗಳಿವೆ. ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು ಮಾತಾಡುವುದು ಲೇಸು. Research ಗೆ ಜನರ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಕಡಿಮೆ, ಬಂಡವಾಳ ಅತ್ಯದಿಕ. ಉಳಿದವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಜನರ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಹೆಚ್ಚು, ಬಂಡವಾಳ ಕಡಿಮೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಈಗಿರುವ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸೂಕ್ತ? ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು research ನಡೆಯುವುದು ಜನ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಹಾಗು ಹಣ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಇರುವ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗು development ನಡೆಯುವುದು developing ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ತಿಳಿಯುವುದು ಸೂಕ್ತ. ನಮ್ಮ TCS, Infosys, Wipro ಗಳು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಳತೆಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಹೊಳೆಯುವ ಕೆಲಸ. Microsoft ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು Readymade ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಮಾರುವ ಕೆಲಸ. ಹಾಗಂತ ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನೂ ದೂರುವುದು ಸಮಂಜಸವಲ್ಲ. ಎರಡೂ ಬೇಕಿರುವ ಸರಕುಗಳೇ.

ಬಹುಷಃ ಈ ಒಂದು ಪದ್ಯ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಲೇಖನಕ್ಕೆ ಉತ್ತರವೆನ್ದನಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೇ??

ನೀವು ಹೇಳಿರುವ ಮಾತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುರುಳಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಅದು ಉತ್ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷೆ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ನನಗೆ ಕಂಡಿತು. ನಾನು ಕಂಡಿರುವಹಾಗೆ ಶೇಕಡಾ ೧೦೦ರಲ್ಲಿ ೭೦ಪಾಲು ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳು ಆಸೆಬುರುಕರು ಎಂದರೆ ಉತ್ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಲಾರದು. ತಮಗೆ ಬರುವ ಸಂಬಳದಲ್ಲಿ ತ್ರುಪ್ತಿಕಾಣುವ ಪ್ರವೃತಿ ಅವರ ಜಾಯಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಉದಾಹರಣೆ Amway, rmp ಏಜೆಂಟ್ ಗಳೊಂತೆ ವರ್ತಿಸುವ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳು.

ಇಂದು ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳು ಪರದಾಟ ನೋಡಿ ಅವರಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕನಿಕರವನು ತೋರದೆ, ಹೀಗೆ ಆಗಬೇಕು ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಇವರನ್ ಹಿದ್ಯೋರ್ ಯಾರು ಅಂತ ಮಾತನಾಡ್ತಿರೋದು ಸತ್ಯ. ಹಾಗಂತ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುವ ಜನ ಸಾಚಾಗಳೇ?? ಹಿಂದೆ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ನೌಕರರಿಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಮರ್ಯಾದೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಮತದ್ಬೇಕಿತು.ಅವ್ರು ಚೀರಾಡಿದ್ರೆ ಅದನ್ ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಲ್ಬೆಕಿತು, ಇಂದು ಅದರ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಬದಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಾಸಗಿ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕುಗಳು ಪೈಪೋಟಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿವೆ. ಇದೇ ಜನ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ, ಇವ್ರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಆಗಬೇಕು ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಇವರನ್ ಬಿಟ್ರೆ ಯಾರು ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂತ ಆಡ್ತಾರೆ ಅಂತ ಬಯಸಲಿಲ್ವೆ ??
ಹಾಗಾದ್ರೆ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಇವರಿಗೂ ಇರುವ ವೆತ್ಯಾಸ??

ನೀವು ಹೇಳಿದಹಾಗೆ ಇಂದು ೧೦೦ರಕ್ಕೆ ೯೯ರಷ್ಟು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಕೈನಲ್ಲೂ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ಗಳ್ಳದೆ ಕಾರುಬಾರು. ಇದೊಂದು ರೀತಿಯ ಫ್ಯಾಷನ್ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಇಲ್ಲದವನು ಏನಕ್ಕೂ ಬಾರದವನು ಎಂಬ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ. ಕೂಲಿ ಕೆಲಸಮಾಡುವವನು ಕೈನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಹಿಡಿದು ಜೋರಾಗಿ ಅರಚುಥ ಬೀದಿಲಿ ಹೋಗ್ತಾನೆ. ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲವರು ಬಸ್ಸುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜೋರಾಗಿ ಹಾಡು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಮಾಡ್ತಾನೆ. ಇಂತಹ ವಿಚಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಶೋಕಿವಾಲರು ಎಂದೆನ್ನಬಹುದೇ?? ಇಂತಹ ಧೋರಣೆಗೆ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಸ್ಗಳ ದುಂದುವೆಚ ಕಾರಣವಾದಿತೆ?? ಇದನ್ನು ಆಸೆಬುರುಕುತನದ ಪರಮಾವದಿ ಯೇನ್ದನ್ನಬಹುದೇ??

ಇಂದು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಕಸ್ಟಪಡಲು ಮನಸಿಲ್ಲ!! ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ದಿಡೀರ್ ಹಣ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಅನ್ನೋದೊಂದೇ ತಲೇಲಿ. ಇಂದು ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಲಿಕೆಲಸದ ಆಳುಗಳು ಸಿಗುವುದು ಕಷ್ಟ. ಕಾರಣ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಇವರನ್ನು ಕೈಬೀಸಿ ಕರಿಯುತಿದೆ. ಬಾರ್, ಕೊರಿಯರ್ ಕೆಲಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರಮಪಡದೆ ಬರುವ ಹಣ, ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲ ಬೆವರಹರಿಸಿ,ಬಿಸಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಯುವುದಕಿಂತ ಇದುವಾಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ!!! ಬಹುಷಃ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳು ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷವಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ಪರೋಕ್ಷ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕಾರಣಕರ್ಥರು ಎಂದರೆ ತಪಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗಂತ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಸ್ಗಳು ಇದರಿಂದ ಹೊರತಲ್ಲ ಎಸ್ಟೋಮಂದಿ ಕಂಪನಿ ಯಿಂದ ಕಂಪನಿಗೆ ಹರುತಲೇ ಇರ್ತಾರೆ. ಇರುವಷ್ಟುದಿನ ಆದಷ್ಟು ಕೈಚಾಚಿ ಹಣ ಬಾಚಿಬಿಡಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಆಸೆ.

ಇನ್ನು ತೋಟ ಗದ್ದೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವವರ ಕಥೆ!!! ಹೇಳಲ್ಲಸಾದ್ಯ… ಒಮ್ಮೆಗೇ ಕೈತುಂಬಾ ಹಣ ಬರುವಾಗ ತೋಟ, ಗದ್ದೆಗಳಿನ್ದಗುವ ಉತ್ಪತಿ ಸಾಸಿವೆಕಾಳಿನಂತೆ ಕಾಣುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೇ!! ತೋಟ, ಗದ್ದೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳುವುದೇ ಎಂಥಹ ಅವಮಾನ!! ಮಾರ್ಕೆಟ್ನಿಂದ ಹಾಲು, ಮೊಸರು ಅಥವ ಇನ್ನ್ಯಾವುದೇ ವಸ್ತುವನ್ನು ಬರೆಕೈನಲ್ಲಿ (ಪ್ಲಾಸ್ಟಿಕ್ ಕವರ್ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ) ಹಿಡಿದುತರಲು ಹಿಂಜರಿಯುವವರು ತೋಟ ಗದ್ದೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡ್ಕೊಳುಥರೆಯೇ!!! ಇದು ಕೇವಲ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಸ್ಗಳಲಿನ ಪ್ರವ್ರುಥಿಯಲ್ಲ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸಾಮನ್ಯ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯವನಿಗೂ ಹಬ್ಬಿರುವ ಚಾಳಿ. ಇದನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಲಸಾದ್ಯ!!

ಆದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಬೇಕು ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳಿರಲಿ, ಸರಕಾರಿನವುಕರರಾಗಲಿ, ಬಡ ಕೂಲಿಕರ್ಮಿಕನೆ ಆಗಿರಲಿ ಅಥವ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯನೆ ಆಗಿರಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಲ್ಲೂ ಒಂದೇ ಜಪ ಅದು ಬೇಕು ಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವ ಜಪ. ಇವತ್ತು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಈ ಭೂತಾಯಿ ಬೇಕಿಲ್ಲ ಆದ್ರೆ ಅವಳಿಂದ ಉತ್ಪಥಿಯಾಗುವ ಅನ್ನಬೇಕು, ದುಡಿಯುವ ಮನಸಿಲ್ಲ ಆದ್ರೆ ಲೋಕದಲಿರೋ ಎಲ್ಲ ವಸ್ತುವು ಬೇಕು. ಇದು ನಿಲ್ಲದಕಥೆ… ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಪದ್ಯ ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ

ಇಂದಿನಪರಿಸ್ತಿತಿಗೆ ಬರಿ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳು ಮಾತ್ರ ಕಾರಣಕರ್ಥರಲ್ಲ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ತುಂಬಿರುವ ಬೇಕು ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಯೇನ್ದನಿಸುವುದಿಲವೇ?? ದುಕ್ಕದ ಸಂಗತಿಯೆಂದರೆ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯವಂಥರು ಎಂದೆನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರು ಅವಿವೆಕಿಗಳಂತೆ ವರ್ಥಿಸುತಿರುವುದು ದುರಂತವೇ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಮುಂದಿನ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಯ ಚಿಂತೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನಾನು.. ನನ್ನದು.. ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ನಮ್ಮದು ಎನ್ನುವ ವಾಕ್ಯವೇ ಮರೆತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವುಗಳಿಗೆಲ್ಲ ಕಾರಣ ಅತಿಯಾದ ವ್ಯಾಮೋಹ. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದರಮೇಲು ಇರುವ ಅತಿಯಾದ ಆಸೆ ಅವುಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ತನ್ನದಾಗಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಹೆಬ್ಬಯಕೆ, ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸುವವರಾರು!!

ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆಯಾಗಿ ಕೇವಲ ಒಬ್ಬರನು ಬೊಟ್ಟುಮಾಡಿ ತೋರಿಸುವುದಕಿಂತ ಯೇಲ್ಲರಲಿರುವ ವೀಕ್ನೆಸ್ಸ್ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಒಳ್ಳಿತು ಎಂಬುದು ನನ್ನ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ.

May be u have missed many of the topics discussed in above comments. Your article is applicable to 80% of the s/w engineers.

Even i’m working in one of the renowned s/w company. Nothing extrodinary work is done in this industry (as they behave in the public).

Hi!

I read this write-up and was surprised to see so much of disdain for the I-Techies. I would like to mention it in the beginning that I am not a techie (I am a Physician). But the amount of angst in the write up made me feel like writing a few words.

No doubt some of the new-rich flaunted their wealth and spent lavishly on certain luxuries. But a generalization to this effect labelling all techies as spend-thrifts or ones who don’t know the value of money is bad. A few days ago, I read a fine piece written by Pratapsimha, advising restraint among journalists, and I admired it. I am amazed that Pratap has failed to practice what he preached. He has fallen prey to a temptation to write about a very poorly substantiated view point.

Today the techies are suffering. Well, soon when situation worsens, all other sectors of economy will suffer and the hard hit will be the poorest. Pratap being a journalist and having easy access to this information should have written about how the coming days are about to affect us all.

Mr.Pratap, you write good but nothing good in this article this time except some facts, if people enjoy their earning whats wrong with that? Evry one has reason and right to spen his earnings…
I feel the maximun tax levied group is IT pro…hence sharing their earnings with soceity..helping soceity to acheive more valu for living every time, May be this is a very bad phase which will also passaway, but holding complete IT professinals is wrong i feel.IT is a boon to INDIA particularly B’lore…But has to streamline little more..(already ON).But life style is evry ones choice…

But i feel as long as there are people to spend,invest,buy market will be good…But its induvidual choice on spending…

ಸರ್, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಲೇಖನವನ್ನು ದಾಸರ ಪದಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಗಾದೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ಹೆಣೆಯಲಾಗಿದೆ. ವಸ್ತುಸ್ಥಿತಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಬಹು ವಿಸ್ತಾರವಾದ ಸತ್ಯವಿದೆ…ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬರವಣಿಗೆಯ ಶೈಲಿ ಅದ್ಭುತ. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಮೊದಲೇ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿರುತ್ತೇನೆ.

ಆದರೆ ಹೀಗೇಕಾಯಿತು ಅಂತ ಕಾರಣ ಹುಡುಕುವ ಯತ್ನ ಖಂಡಿತ ಆಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ರೋಢೀಕರಿಸಿ ಒಂದು ‘consolidated report’ ಇದ್ದ ಹಾಗಿದೆ. ಐಟಿಗರ ಪಕ್ಕದ ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಓದಲಂತೂ ತುಂಬಾ ಮಜವಾಗಿದೆ! ಚುರುಕಾದ ಹುಡುಗ ಬಿದ್ದು ಗಾಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಮೇಲೆ ಇತರ ಹುಡುಗರು ‘ಹೆಂಗಾಯ್ತು ನೋಡು’ ಅಂತ ಕೇಕೆ ಹಾಕಿ ನಕ್ಕು ಹೇಳಿದ ಹಾಗಿದೆ.

ಅದಿರಲಿ, ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯನ್ನ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಮೂಲವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಲೇ ಬೇಕು.
ಐಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಸುಮಾರು ಎಂಭತ್ತರ ದಶಕದ ಪೂರ್ವಾರ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂತು. ಆದರೆ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋಚರವಾಗಿದ್ದು ನರಸಿಂಹರಾವ್ ರವರ ‘globalization’ ನಂತರವೇ. ಅಂದರೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಮ್ಮಿ 25 ವರ್ಷ ಎಂದಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಅದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹಣದ ಹೊಳೆ ಹರಿಯಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು.
ಮೊದಲಿಗೆ ‘ಐಟಿ ಕಂಪನಿ’ ಅಂದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಂತ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನ (ಪ್ರಾಡಕ್ಟ್) ಉತ್ಪಾದನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಕೇವಲ ವಿದೇಶಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನ ‘ಸೇವೆ’ಯ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಬಂಡವಾಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹಣ ಸಂಪಾದನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ರೂಪಾಯಿ-ಡಾಲರ್ ಮೌಲ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸ ಇದ್ದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಸಹಜವಾಗಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಂಬಳ ಕೊಡಲು ಶಕ್ತವಾಯಿತು. ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ವಿದೇಶಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿಬರುವುದು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸದ ಸತ್ಯ ಗೊತ್ತಾಯಿತು, ಅವರೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಡಿಮ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಮಾಡಲು ಶುರುಮಾಡಿದರು. ತೊಂಭತ್ತರ ದಶಕದಲ್ಲಂತೂ ಐಟಿ ತಜ್ನ್ಯರ ಕೊರತೆ ಅಪಾರವಾಯಿತು, ಇತರ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರು ಅಲ್ಪಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಲಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಧುಮಿಕಿದರು. (ಹಿರಿಯರೊಬ್ಬರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು ನೆನಪಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಐಟಿಐ, ಹೆಚ್ಎಎಲ್, ಬಿ ಇ ಎಲ್ ಮುಂತಾದುವು ಶುರುವಾದಾಗ, ಕೆಲಸಗಾರರಿಲ್ಲದೆ, ಹಸು ಮೆಯಿಸ್ತ ಇರೋರು, ಎಮ್ಮೆ ಮೈ ತೊಳೆಸೋರನ್ನೂ ಬಿಡದೆ ಸೇರ್ಸ್ಕೊಂಡ್ರಂತೆ!) ಈ ಡಿಮ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಎಷ್ಟು ಹೇಸಿಗೆ ರೂಪ ತಾಳಿತೆಂದರೆ, ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರ ಗುಂಪಲ್ಲಿ ೨೫ ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಕಡಿಮೆ ತೊಗೊಳ್ಳೋರು (ಕಳೆದವರ್ಷ ಈ ಮಿತಿ ೫೦ ಸಾವಿರ) ನಾಲಾಯಕ್ ಅಂತ ಆಯಿತು. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಬೇರೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವರು ಬಂದರು, ಅಸಮತೋಲನ ಶುರುವಾಯಿತು. ಐಟಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಪಾಶ್ಚಾತ್ಯದ ಮೋಸದ ‘CTC’ ಸಂಬಳದ ಹೆಸರು ಆಮದಾಯಿತು. ಇದರ ಅರ್ಥ ಗೊತ್ತಿರದ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವರು/ಜನರು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಕೈಗೆ ಅಷ್ಟು ಬರುತ್ತದೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಿಟ್ಟರು. CTC ಅಂದರೆ ಕಂಪನಿಯರು ‘ನಿಮಗಾಗಿ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಎಷ್ಟು ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೋ’ ಅದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಯಾಲರಿ! ಕೈಗೆ ಖಂಡಿತ ಅಷ್ಟು ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರ ಪಾಡಿಗೆ ಅವರಿದ್ದ ‘ಉತ್ಪಾದನಾ’ (ಉದಾ:ಮೆಕ್ಯಾನಿಕಲ್) ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರು ಉಪಾಯವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇದನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. ೨೩ರವರಿಗೆ ಇದ್ಯಾವುದೂ ಅರಿವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಬಂತೋ ಅಷ್ಟೂ ಖರ್ಚುಮಾಡ ತೊಡಗಿದರು, ಭಾರತೀಯ ಮೌಲ್ಯದ ಉಳಿತಾಯ ಸೊನ್ನೆಯಾಯಿತು, ಕ್ರೆಡಿಟ್ ಕಾರ್ಡ್ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಶುರುವಾಯಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಯಾಕೆ ಹೀಗಾಯಿತು?
ಬೇರೆ ದೇಶದ ಅಥವಾ ಬೇರೆ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಜೊತೆ ವ್ಯವಹಾರ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಅವರ ಶಿಸ್ತು, ಅವರ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ, ಅವರ ಹಾವ-ಭಾವಗಳ ಅನುಕರಣೆ ಸಹಜ ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಕೂಡ. ಶುದ್ಧ ಭಾರತೀಯರಿಗೆ ಇದು ಹೊಸದಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ರೂಢಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲೇ ಬೇಕಾದ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯತೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಕಾನ್ವೆಂಟ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಓದಿದವರಿಗಂತೂ ತಮಗೆ ‘ಸರಿಯಾದ’ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಹೋಯಿತು ಎಂದು ಬಹಳ ಬೇಗ ವಿದೇಶಿಯರಾಗಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟರು. ಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಮೂಲದಿಂದ ಬಂದಿರುವವರೂ ಕೂಡ ಇವರನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಲೇ ಬೇಕಾದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯೂ ಹರಾಜಾಗ ತೊಡಗಿತು. (ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಪತ್ನಿ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಉಡುಗೆ ತೊಟ್ಟು, ಹಣೆಗೆ ಕುಂಕುಮ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರೆ, ನಾರ್ತ್ ಇಂಡಿಯನ್ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜರ್ “ಮಾಡ್ರನ್ ಆಗಿರಬೇಕ್ರಿ” ಅಂದರಂತೆ, ಈಗ ಇವರೇ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜರ್, ಆದರೂ ಹಾಗೇ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ, ಅಮೇರಿಕದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೂ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿಲ್ಲ, ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಹಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ)
ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನೂ ಗಮನಿಸ ಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಪಟ್ಟಣದವರಿಗೂ, ಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಮೂಲದವರಿಗೂ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯೊಂದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಇನ್ನೆಲ್ಲದರಲ್ಲೂ ಅಜ-ಗಜಾಂತರವಿದೆ. ಕಷ್ಟವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಸಿಟಿಯ ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಈಗಿನ ಐಟಿ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಗೆ ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಬಹಳ ಕಷ್ಟ ಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಆದರೆ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತನೆಯಾಗಿ ಹಲವರು ಮೌಲ್ಯವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು “ಉಳಿತಾಯ” ಮಾಡಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಮೂಲದವರಿಗೆ ನೆರವಾದರೆ, ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲವರು ಕಷ್ಟ ಗೊತ್ತಿರದ ನಗರದವರ ತರಹವೇ ಬೇಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯಿಂದ ಜೀವನಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಇದ್ಯಾವುದೂ ಇವರ ಮೂಲಭೂತ ತಪ್ಪಲ್ಲ. ಎಲ್ಲವಕ್ಕೂ ಮೂಲ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯವಾದ ‘ವಿದೇಶದ ಅನುಕರಣೆ’.
ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಮಗ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಲವು ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಲ ತಿರಿಸಿ, ಹೊಸ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿ, ಹಣವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಇಂದಿಗೂ ತಮ್ಮತನವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹಣವಂತರಾಗಿಯೂ ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟು ಜನ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಪುಟಕೊಟ್ಟಂತೆ ‘ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಶೋಕಿ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ’ ಹೊಡೆತವೂ ನಮ್ಮವರ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣ ಎನ್ನುವುದನ್ನು ಮರೆಯಬಾರದು. ಇಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ಐಟಿ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರುಗಳನ್ನು ‘ಟೆಕ್ಕಿ, ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳು’ ಅಂತ ಪ್ರಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿ, ‘ರೋಷ’ ಬರುವಷ್ಟು ಜನತೆಯ ಅಸೂಯೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣರಾವರು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮದವರೇ ಹೊರತು, ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳಲ್ಲ.
ಹಾಗೇ ಹೊರಗಿಂದ ನೋಡುವರಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸೂಟು-ಬೂಟು ಹಾಕಿ ಆರಾಮಾಗಿ ಬಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ/ಕಾರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂತು ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಆಫಿಸಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಬಂದರಾಯಿತು ಅಂತ. ಆದರೆ ಮೈ ಪರಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಷ್ಟು Tension ಮತ್ತು rest room ಗೆ ಹೊಗಿಬರಲಾರದಷ್ಟು ತುರ್ತು ಕೆಲಸ ಇರುವುದೂ ಅಷ್ಟೆ ಸತ್ಯ. ಇಷ್ಟು ಕಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ‘ಲಂಚ’ವೂ ಸಿಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ವಾರದ ಐದು ದಿನ ಇಷ್ಟು ಕಷ್ಟ ಪಟ್ಟು ವಾರಾಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದಹಾಗೆ ‘ಸುಖ’ ಅನುಭವಿಸುವುದು ತಪ್ಪೇ? ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಮುಂತಾದ ಕಡೆ ‘ಹೋಂ ಸ್ಟೇ’ ದುರ೦ತಕ್ಕೆ ಇವರು ಕಾರಣರೆ? ಅಥವಾ ಜನರ ದುರಾಸೆ ಕಾರಣವೆ? ಇವರ ಸಂಬಳವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಇವರ ಸೌಕರ್ಯವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಇತರ ಕ್ಷೆತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವರು, ಸರ್ಕಾರೀ ಕಛೇರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋಮಾರಿಗಳು ನೋಡಿ ಅಸೂಯೆ ಪಟ್ಟರೆ ಯಾರ ತಪ್ಪು?

ಇನ್ನು ಐಟಿ ದೊರೆಗಳ, ಕಂಪೆನಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಾದರೆ, ಇವತ್ತು ಬೇಕಾದಾಗ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದು ಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಬೇಡವಾದಾಗ ಬಿಡುವುದು ಇವರಕೈಯಲ್ಲೇ ಇರುವುದು, ಇದು ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ಕ್ಯಾಪಿಟಲಿಸಂ. ಅದಕ್ಕೇ ಕಮ್ಯುನಿಸಂ ತರಹದ strike ಗಳೆಲ್ಲ ಐಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ R&D ಗಳು, ಆರೋಗ್ಯಕರ ಎನ್ನಬಹುದಾದ ೨೦% ಇರಬೇಕಾದ ಜಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದು ೨% ಇದೆ, ಖಂಡಿತ ಸಾಲದು. ಆದರೆ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಐಟಿ ಹೊಣೆಯೇ? ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟು R&D ಇವೆ? ಸ್ವತಹ ಮೆಕ್ಯಾನಿಕಲ್ ಡಿಸೈನ್ ವಿಭಾಗ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ತಯಾರಾಗುವ ವಸ್ತುಗಳು ಎಷ್ಟು ನಮ್ಮ ನೈಜವಿನ್ಯಾಸಗಳು ಅಂತ. ಸಣ್ಣ ಸ್ಕ್ರೂ ನಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ರಾಕೆಟ್ ನವರೆಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ವಿದೇಶಿ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ನ್ಯಾನದ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ಉತ್ಪದಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಕೆಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳಹಿಂದೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಅಟೋಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಕಂಪನಿಯ ಮೀಟಿಂಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು “R&D ಅಂತ ಬೋರ್ಡ್ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಏನು ಪ್ರಯೋಜನ, ನಾವು ಏನಾದರು ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಕಂಡು ಹಿಡಿಯಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು” ಅಂದಾಗ next ಮೀಟಿಂಗಿಗೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನ ಕರೆಯಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ! ಟ್ಯಾಕ್ಸ್ ಇನ್ಸ್ಪೆಕ್ಟರಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಲು ಮಾತ್ರ ಆ ಬೋರ್ಡ್ ಅಷ್ಟೆ.
ಐಟಿಯ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳು ಒಂದೇ ತರವಲ್ಲ. ಇನ್ಫೋಸಿಸ್ ಖಾಯಮ್ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದು ಹಾಕಿಲ್ಲ. ಇವರ R&D ೧೯೯೭ರಲ್ಲೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿ, ೨೫೦ ಸಂಶೋಧಕರು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.ನೂರಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪೇಟೆಂಟ್ ಗಳು ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆಯ ಹಾದಿಯಲ್ಲಿವೆ. ಹಾಗೇ ಸುಧಾ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯವರು ಇನ್ಫಿ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ೫-೬ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮೀಸಲಾಗಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ‘ಪುಷ್ಪಕ್’ ಬಸ್ಗಳು ಯಾರ ಕೊಡುಗೆ? ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಾದ್ಯಂತ ೪೫೦೦ ವಾಚನಾಲಯಗಳು ಯಾರ ಕೊಡುಗೆ? ‘ನಿರ್ಮಲ’ ಶೌಚಾಲಯಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದವು? ವಿಪ್ರೋ ಮುಂತಾದ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳೂ ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾಣಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿವೆ. ಐಟಿ ಯ ಜತೆ ಬೇರೆ ಉದ್ಯಮದ ಲಕ್ಷಾಂತರ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾಲಿನ ಬದುಕು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಯಾರೂ ಅಲ್ಲಗಳೆಯಲಾಗದು.

ಐಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಪಾಶ್ಚಿಮಾತ್ಯ, ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಪ್ರಚಂಡರ ನಾಡು ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವಲಂಬಿಸಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ‘recovery’ ಆಗುವವರೆಗೆ ಆತಂಕ ಇದ್ದು ನಂತರ ಮತ್ತೆ ಜಿಗಿದೆದ್ದು ಪುಟಿಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಮೆರಿಕದಲ್ಲಿ recession ಆಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಇದೇನು ಹೊಸತಲ್ಲ, ಪ್ರತಿ ೮-೧೦ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಹೀಗಾಗುತ್ತದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಈಬಾರಿ depression ಆಗಿದೆ ಅಷ್ಟೆ. ಮತ್ತೆ ಇನ್ನೆರಡು ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಐಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ‘boom’ ಆಗಲಿದೆ. ಕೊನೇಪಕ್ಷ ಇನ್ನೂ ಇಪ್ಪತೈದು ವರ್ಷ ಐಟಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಖಂಡಿತಾ ಸಾವಿಲ್ಲ.

ನಾನು ತುಂಬಾ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜಾಗ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕವಾಗಿ ಕ್ಷಮೆ ಬೇಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಆದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯವನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣ ತಿಳಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ ಅನ್ನೋ ಕೊರಗು ಇದೆ….. ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ.

ಆತ್ಮೀಯ ಪ್ರತಾಪ..
ತುಂಬಾ ವಿಚಿತ್ರವಾಗಿದೆ ಲೇಖನ!..ಮೊನ್ನೆ ಮೊನ್ನೆ ತನಕ ಗ್ಲೋಬಲೈಜಶನನಿಂದ, ಅಮೇರಿಕದಿಂದಲೆ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶ ಉದ್ಧಾರವಾಯ್ತು..ನಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯಮ ವರ್ಗದ ಜನಾ ಕಾರು,ಮನೆ ಕಾಣೋಂಗಾಯ್ತು ಅಂತೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೇಳ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೋರು, ಈಗ ಒಮ್ಮಿಂದೊಮ್ಮೆಲೆ ಐ.ಟಿ ಯವರಿಂದ್ಲೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅನೀಷ್ಟಾ ಸುರುವಾಯ್ತು ಅಂತಾ ಹಲುಬುತ್ತಾ ಇರೊದು!!..ಅದೇನೊ ಅಂತಾರಲ್ಲ ‘ಹಳ್ಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿದ್ದೋನ ಮೇಲೊಂದು ಕಲ್ಲು’ ಅಂತಾ ಹಾಗಾಯ್ತು. ಉತ್ತುಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿರೋದು ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬಂದೆ ಬರುತ್ತೆ. ಏರು-ಪೇರು ಇದ್ದೆ ಇರುತ್ತೆ..ಇವತ್ತು ಐ.ಟಿ, ನಾಳೆ ಇನ್ನಾವುದೋ field . ಇದು ಯಾವುದೆ ಸಮಾಜ,ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯ, ದೇಶ ಎಲ್ಲದಕ್ಕೂ ಅನ್ವಯಿಸುತ್ತೆ. ಇವತ್ತು ಕೆಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿರುವುದು ನಾವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಭಾರತಿಯರು..ಕೇವಲ ಐ.ಟಿ ಜನಾ ಅಲ್ಲಾ.
ನಾವು ಭಾರತಿಯರು ಹೇಳಿ-ಕೇಳಿ 10 ಘಂಟೆ ದುಡಿತ, 1500 ರೂ ತಿಂಗಳ ಸಂಬಳಕ್ಕೆ ಒಗ್ಗಿಕೊಂಡವರು..ಈಗ 5 ಘಂಟೆ ದುಡಿದು, ತಿಂಗಳಿಗೆ 30000 ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುವ ಜನರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ದುಡಿಮೆ ಅನ್ನಿಸೋದು ಸಹಜ.. ಆದ್ರೆ ಏನು efficiency, performance ಇಲ್ಲದೆನೆ ಎಂಪ್ಲೋಯಿಗೆ ಅಷ್ಟೋಂದು ಹಣಾ ಕೊಡ್ಲಿಕ್ಕೆ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹುಚ್ಛಾ??
And about work culture..now a days money matters and future matters. When companies themselves don’t follow any ethics when they are not getting profit , get rid of employees with pinkslip, lay off etc THEN how can a company could expect ethics on employees part when he /she tries to jump off into another company for better prospects? ಯಥಾ ರಾಜಾ..ತಥಾ ಪ್ರಜಾ!!

ಕೆಲವು ವಾರಗಳಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮಅಂಕಣ ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ರುಚಿಸುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲಾ..ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಒಂದು ದೀರ್ಘ ಪ್ರವಾಸ, ಅಂಕಣಕ್ಕೆ ರಜೆ ಕೊಡುವ ವಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಒಳಿತು..In any field,no body can perform or produce best all the time..please consider it seriously, ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ಲೇಖನಗಳು ಈಗಿನ ಬೆಳಗೆರೆ ಲೇಖನಗಳಂತೆ ಸವಕಲು ಸವಕಲಾಗಿ, ಜಾಳು-ಜಾಳಾಗಿ, ಜೊಳ್ಳಾಗಿ ಗೋಸುಂಬೆತನದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿರುತ್ತವೆ.

We love to see the same Pratap Simha we used to like and admire earlier ..

ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ ಪ್ರತಾಪ್.. ಮಲಗಿರೊ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳನ್ನ ಚಿವುಟಿ ಗುರ್ ಅನ್ನೊಹಾಗ್ ಮಾಡಿದಿರ. ಈಗಿನ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣ ಹುಡುಕೋದಿಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಮೊದಲು ಕಾಣೊದು ಇದೇ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳು. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳು ಒಂದೇರೀತಿ ಅಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರು ಬಹುಪಾಲು ಒಂದೇ ರೀತಿ ಇರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆಟೋ ಡ್ರೈವರ್ ನಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ 4ರೂ ಚಿಲ್ಲರೆ ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, 4th ಬ್ಲಾಕ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗೆ 10ರೂ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಮಾಡಿಅಂದಾಗ, ಮಾಲ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡಮಾತಾಡಿದಾಗ ಸಿಗೊ Reaction ಗಳು ಈ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳಿಂದಾದ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲಗಳು ಅನ್ನೊದು ಸುಳ್ಳಲ್ಲ.

ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಾ. ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 21ರಂದು ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾದ‌ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕುರುಡು ಕಾಂಚಾಣ ಲೇಖನ ಓದಿದೆ, ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದೀರಿ ಆದರೆ ಜನರಲೈಸಾಗಿ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದೀರಾ, ಬಾರೀ ಬೇಜಾರಾಯ್ತು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಲೇಖನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೋ ವಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಮಾತಾಡುವ…

1) ಅಪ್ಪ ನಿವ್ಱ್ಱತ್ತಿಯಾಗುವಾಗ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸಂಬಳವನ್ನ ಮಗ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಮೊದಲ ತಿಂಗಳೇ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ. ‍

ಸತ್ಯ, ಅಪ್ಪ (ಕೆಲವು ಅಪ್ಪಂದ್ರು ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಅಲ್ಲ…) ಬಿ.ಎ, ಬಿ.ಕಾಂ, ಬಿ.ಎಸ್ಸಿ ಓದಿದ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ, 10ಕ್ಕೆ ಮನೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಆಫೀಸಿಗೆ ಹೋಗ್ತನೆ 5 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ವಾಪಸ್ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೊರಡ್ತನೆ, ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಫಿ, ಟೀ, ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ 2 ಗಂಟೆ ಗುಳುಂ ಮಾಡಿರ್ತಾನೆ, ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಒಟ್ಟು 5 ಗಂಟೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡ್ತನೆ,

ಅದೇ ನೀವು ಹೇಳಿದ ಸಾಫ್ಟ್ವೇರ್ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್, ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 8ಕ್ಕೆ ಮನೆ ಬಿಡ್ತಾನೆ (ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲವರು ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಬೇಗ) ರಾತ್ರಿ ಎಷ್ಟೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ವಾಪಸ್ ಬರ್ತನೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿರಲ್ಲ, ಏನಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದ್ರು 9 ಅಥವಾ 10ಕ್ಕೆ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬರ್ತನೆ , ಅಂದ್ರೆ 11ರಿಂದ 12 ಗಂಟೆ ಆಫೀಸಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಇರ್ತಾನೆ, ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ 30 ನಿಮಿಷ, ಕಾಫಿ, ಟೀ ಅವನ ಡೆಸ್ಕ್ಗೆ ತಂದಿಟ್ಕೊಂಡು ಕುಡೀತಾ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡ್ತಾನೆ, ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಏನಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದ್ರು 10ರಿಂದ 11 ಗಂಟೆಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡ್ತನೆ.

ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಅಪ್ಪಂಗೆ 100ರೂ ಬಂದು ಮಗನಿಗೆ 200ರಿಂದ 250ರೂ ಬರೋದ್ರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಅತಿಶಯೋಕ್ತಿಯಿಲ್ಲ.

2) ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತ್ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಕೈ ತುಂಬಾ ದುಡ್ಡೇನೋ ಬಂತು, ದುಡ್ಡಿನ‌ ಬೆಲೆ ಅರ್ಥ‌ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ‌ ವ‌ಯ‌ಸ್ಸು ಅದಾಗಿರ‌ಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ನಮಗೆ 5 ಪೈಸೆಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಗೋಲಿ ಬರ್ತಿತ್ತು ಅಂತನೂ ಗೊತ್ತು, ಈಗ 5 ಪೈಸೆ ಬೆಲೆ ಏನು ಅಂತನೂ ಗೊತ್ತು. ನಮ್ಮಪ್ಪ ಅಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರತಿ ಸೆಮೆಸ್ಟರ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಫ್ರೀ/ಪೇಮೆಂಟ್ ಸೀಟ್ ದುಡ್ಡು ಕಟ್ಟೋವಾಗ ನಮಗೆ ಅನ್ನಿಸ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದದ್ದು ಏನು ಗೊತ್ತ, ಇಷ್ಟು ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾರಲ್ಲ ನಾನು ಅವರು ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡಿರೋ ಅಷ್ಟು ದುಡ್ಡನ್ನ ಹೇಗಪ್ಪ ದುಡಿಯೋದು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಸಹ ಯೋಚಿಸಿರ್ತಾನೆ, ಊರಿಗ ಹೋದ್ರೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ದುಡ್ಡು ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡ್ಬೇಕಲ್ಲ ಅಂತ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹುಡುಗ್ರು ಹಾಸ್ಟೆಲ್ನಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದು ಓದ್ತಿದ್ರು. ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳ ಬೆಲೆ ಜಾಸ್ತಿ ಅಂತ ಬಹಳ ಜನ ಜೆರಾಕ್ಸ್ ಮಾಡಿಸ್ತಿದ್ರು.

ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿಗೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಹುಡುಕಲು ಬಂದಾಗ, ಬಿ.ಎಂ.ಟಿ.ಸಿ ಬಸ್ ಪಾಸ್ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳಿದ್ವು ಅಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ರೆಸ್ಯೂಮ್ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಬರ್ತಿದ್ವಿ, ಈಗ್ಲೂ ಸಹ ತುಂಬಾ ಜನ ಸಾಫ್ಟ್ವೇರ್ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ಸ್ ಬಿ.ಎಂ.ಟಿ.ಸಿ ಬಸ್ನಲ್ಲೇ ಓಡಾಡ್ತಿರ್ತಾರೆ (ಅದ್ರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನೂ ಸಹ ಒಬ್ಬ).

ಸ‌ಂಬಳ ಬಂದ್ರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕಾಗುವಷ್ಟು ಇಟ್ಕೊಂಡು ಮಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದು ಅಪ್ಪಂಗೋ ಇಲ್ಲ ಉಳಿತಾಯ ಖಾತೆನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕ್ತೀವಿ.

ನಮಗೆ ದುಡ್ಡಿನ ಬೆಲೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂತೀರಲ್ಲ ನೀವು.

3) ಐ.ಟಿಯ‌ವ‌ರು ಏನು ಮಾಡ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಂತ‌ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ‌ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಅರ್ಥ‌ ಆಗಿಲ್ಲ.

ನಾನು ಸಾಫ್ಟ್ವೇರ್ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್, ನಾನು ಇದ‌ನ್ನ ಮಾಡ್ತಿದ್ದೀನಿ ಅಂತ‌ ಯಾರಿಗಾದ್ರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ರೆ ಇವ‌ನ್ಯಾರೋ ತ‌ಲೆಹಿಡುಕ‌ ಅಂತಾರೆ.

ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ವಿಷ‌ಯ‌ ಏನು ಗೊತ್ತಾ, ದುಡ್ಡಿನ‌ ವಿಷ‌ಯ‌ ಬ‌ಂದಾಗ‌ ತುಂಬಾ ಜ‌ನ‌ರ‌ ಕಿವಿ ನೆಟ್ಟಗಾಗೋದು ಸ‌ಹ‌ಜ‌. ಯಾವುದೇ ವ್ಯವ‌ಹಾರ‌ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿ, ಭ‌ತ್ತ, ರಾಗಿ, ಅಡ‌ಕೆ, ಕಾಫಿ. ತುಂಬಾ ಜ‌ನ‌ ಕ‌ಡಿಮೆ ದುಡ್ಡಿಗೆ ಮಾರಿ ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲ‌ವ‌ರು ಜಾಸ್ತಿ ದುಡ್ಡಿಗೆ ಮಾರಿದ್ರೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೇಳೋದೇನ‌ಂದ್ರೆ ಅವ್ನಿಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ದುಡ್ಡು ಬ‌ಂತ್ರೀ ಅಂತ‌.

ಐ.ಟಿಯ‌ವ‌ರ‌ ಕೈಲಿ ದುಡ್ಡಿದೆ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕ‌ರ‌ ಕೈಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದ್ರೂ ಯಾಕ್ರೀ ಸೆಲ್ ಫೋನ್ ತ‌ಗೋಳ್ತಾರೆ ಅವ್ರು, ನೀವು ಹೇಳೋದು ಐ.ಟಿಯ‌ವ‌ರಿಗೆ ದುಡ್ಡಿನ‌ ಬೆಲೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ, ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕ‌ರು????. ಅವ್ರಿಗೆ ದುಡ್ಡಿನ‌ ಬೆಲೆ ಗೊತ್ತು ಆದ್ರೂ ಸೆಲ್ ಫೋನ್ ತ‌ಗೋಳ್ತಾರೆ, 120ರೂ ಕೂಲಿಯ‌ಲ್ಲಿ 50ರೂ ಸೆಲ್ ಫೋನಿಗೆ ಖ‌ರ್ಚು ಮಾಡ್ತಾರೆ, ಛೆ, ದುಡ್ಡಿನ‌ ಬೆಲೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿರೋರು ಹೀಗೆಲ್ಲ ಮಾಡ‌ಬಾರ‌ದು, ನೀವಾದ್ರೂ ಅವ್ರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳ‌ಬಾರ‌ದ‌??

6) ಇವ‌ತ್ತು ಒಬ್ಬ ಐ.ಟಿಯ‌ವ‌ನು ಕೆಲ‌ಸ‌ ಕ‌ಳೆದುಕೊಂಡ‌ರೆ ಪ್ಯಾನಿಕ್ ಆಗುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಅವ‌ನಿಗೆ ಬೇರೆ ಕೆಲ‌ಸ‌ವೂ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ

ಬೇರೆ ಕ‌ಡೆ ಏನು ಆಗೇ ಇಲ್ವೇನ್ರಿ? ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಹಿಂಜರಿತದಿಂದ ಗಾರ್ಮೆಂಟ್ಗಳ‌ಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲ‌ಸ‌ ಮಾಡೋರು ಆತ್ಮಹ‌ತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಐ.ಟಿಯ‌ಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರೋದ‌ನ್ನ ಇಲ್ಲಿವ‌ರೆಗೆ ಕೇಳಿಲ್ಲ. ಯಾಕ‌ಂದ್ರೆ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕತ್ತೆ ಅನ್ನೋ ಭ‌ರ‌ವ‌ಸೆ ಅವ್ನಿಗೆ ಇರ‌ತ್ತೆ, ಅದೂ ಅಲ್ದಲೆ ಅವ್ನು ಅಷ್ಟು ಸುಲ‌ಭ‌ವಾಗಿ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯ‌ರಿಂಗ್ ಪಾಸಾಗಿ ಬ‌ಂದಿರೊಲ್ಲ, ಅಲ್ಲಿವ‌ರೆಗೆ ಅವ‌ನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಕ‌ಷ್ಟಪ‌ಟ್ಟಿರ್ತಾನೆ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಏನೇ ಕ‌ಷ್ಟ ಬ‌ಂದ್ರೂ ಎದುರಿಸೋದ‌ಕ್ಕೆ ಸೈ ಅನ್ನೋ ಮ‌ನೋಭಾವ‌ ಬ‌ಂದಿರ‌ತ್ತೆ, ಅಷ್ಟೊಂದು ಸುಲ‌ಭ‌ವಾಗಿ ಸೋಲೊಲ್ಲ.

Dear Mr Pratap,
We work hard and earn money. Whatever money we earn is white not Income Tax Officia can trap us. Please think of Staate/Central Govt staff who earn crores of Rupees without any hard work. When we go purchasing house it will be an apartment of 1100/1200 squares OR an independent house at 30X40 site. Just see the bungalows of corrupt Govt officials who build 3-4 houses by using the black money. Just because our income is exposed dont target us. Please do not mislead the people. I was fan your articles but now I incline to say that you are narrow minded person.

I read the article from Pratap Simha for the first time but what a disappointment!!!. Some issues are genuine but the article is biased….The issues are generalized and no depth in analyzing. Generally people are jealous of S/W professionals. They see only the money earned but not the hard work behind it. He is talking about the work culture but I feel in no other industry including the medicos (Who are supposed to be above all these things), the work culture is not equivalent to us. We are above politics (May be some exception but not to that extent)punctual,, work hard, pay our tax, do social service. I also feel we are more aware of the social problems than others. The article is simply biased.

ಲೇಖನ ತುಂಬಾ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ ………ಆದರೆ ವಸ್ತುಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂಚ ಮರೆಮಾಚುತ್ತಿದೆ. ತಾವು ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ತುಂಬಾ ಸಾಮನ್ನೀಕರಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಾ ……..ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಒಂದೇ ತಕ್ಕಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟು ತೂಗಿದ್ದೀರ ………ಆದರೆ Infosys wipro ಅಂತಹ ಕಂಪನಿ ಗಳು ನ್ತಮ್ಮ social responsibility ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಮರ್ಪಕವಾಗಿಯೇ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಇಂತಹ ವಿಷಮ ವಾದ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಹ ಇನ್ಫಿ ೭೦೦೦ ಉದ್ದ್ಯೋಗಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದೆ . ಅದರ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ ಶೇಕಡಾ ೩೦% ರಷ್ಟಿದೆ.offcourse ಅದು ಸಂಬಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಡಿತ ಮಾಡಿರಬಹುದು ಆದರೆ ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ಕೆಲಸದಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದಿಲ್ಲ . ಮತ್ತು ಅದು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಗಿದೆ……..so ಈ ಲೇಖನ ತುಂಬಾ ಜಾಳಾಗಿತ್ತು.

Though I’m not from the IT, I belong to the same genre. My reaction to your article is that the focus could have been towards “the after effects of ‘pink slip’ “rather than the attitude/behavior. I accept the fact that average Indian came out spending from the day one, but I also see the reasons.

1> Most of them are from middle class families, the dream is to lead a comfortable life in a house of their own, take care of family.
2> Going after gadgets and accessories is combination of fact that
a. At young age you try to copy or inherit the things in the environment. In IT sector its heterogeneous crowd from all over India (so called the fashion cities Mumbai & Delhi) , naturally you would copy them.
b. I’m sure an average IT guys would have traveled abroad, companies disburse money towards buying clothing & accessories.
3> Banks provided the debit card, credit cards and loans to these because, banks know very well that IT guys promptly can repay the EMI.
4> Fundamentally coming to the money, poor guys get the peanuts when compared to top management folks (Azim, Rajus, Raju Mynampati and etc) or even the Govt servants. In spite of showing the big numbers on paper, the take home is significantly less. Its not that IT guys don’t save, they have chosen unconventional methods like Shares/Mutual Funds rather than Bank deposits or Post Office Bonds.
5> Considering the taxes are the major contributors to Indian Govt treasury, fact is well acknowledged by the IT crowd and statements as claimed by you by that people in IT are aloof about this is not true.

Taking leadership or being accountable should come from the top; we have political leaders always involved in mud-singling. People like the great N.R. Narayana Murthy back out of a key position (CEO of BIAL) when H.D. Deve Gowda questioned about the land dealings. (Question to you, don’t you see something fishy in BIAL, can you write article on BIAL).
What kind of legacy are these guys leaving to us or the next generation?

Today when govt and RBI/ banks are pushing for people to buy assets by lowering borrowing rate at the same time solving the liquidity crunch by encourage the deposits by increasing the rate of interest, without any doubt I say non IT people are benefiting. The IT crowd has invested a lot in real estate, automobiles and other tangible assets, and they just have money to clear their debts.
Effects of Pink Slips will be major hit to India’s Tax incomes, when more and more business men are trying to evade taxes, IT people are in forefront paying the taxes regularly.

One thing, I agree with you is I join hands and request the IT people coming from smaller towns and villages, If you have chance get back to farming, time might come again for green revolution. India has the population to consume, what ever they produce. I’m with you, please count on me anytime.

I guess we should stop commenting on this guy’s article, because if we write a comment that makes him think that we are reading his articles, then he will write more like this. But if no one replies to his articles then he will write something better which makes more sense. I guess success has gone to his head not to we the IT employs.

Your article has left lot to be desired and do not portray complete truth.
In addition to many of comments given; I have some of my own views on recession, reasons behind crisis in IT industry and picture IT worker.

On Recession:
1. Current recession has affected complete economy (Banking, finance, tradition industries (Mechanical, Automobile etc), IT has just part of economy. This recession has hit other industry harder than IT industry. Just that in India IT has been show cased (for both good and bad reasons).
2. Current recession has been triggered because of greediness of companies to grow exponentially even when they have reached plateau of the growth.
3. Indian IT industry also have going through similar pressure to grow continuously exponentially which in turn giving rise enormous of stress (to both employees and companies themselves) and creating RAT race to win the deals.
4. Initially and still to certain extent majority of Indian IT industry is service oriented in nature (to reduce cost of development and maintenance of product). 5. MNCs came to India mainly due to cost advantages and Indian centers were just cost centers. Slowly more important work is coming down to Indian development centers.
6. Indian company s grew exponentially in 90s and during 2001 to 2007, industry did not make enough to keep growth under check (to have natural growth or controlled growth). I think this has costing them dearly during recession and employees are hit badly. One must keep in mind that any unnatural growth will end up in disaster. Ex: Cell mutation will lead to cancer and uncontrolled Nuclear fission leads to disaster of human kind.

Nevertheless the IT industry has directly or indirectly contributed to introduction of E-Governess in India and in many ways of Government functioning and emphasis on Infrastructure etc.,

On IT Professional:
You seems to have generalized the whole IT professional. The picture you have depicted might be applied to hardly 20%. We put approximately 10-12Hrs of work everyday. There use to be days when it was said that Business people and Doctors did not had time to return home and now IT worker too slog g out in office and even work from home and weekends.

IT workers majority of them are from middle class background and still have middle class values imbibed in their life style and still uphold the values of Indian culture. They have been torch bearer for the nations growth and face of the country to world. Though it appears that IT worker settles in western world, their heart remains Indian. They still invest in India and contribute to India in many ways (through NGOs, building schools etc). Do not forget IT industry boom bought the development in many other sectors like Tourism, Hotel, entertainment, Insurance, Real estate and investment sector etc.

What might be wrong doings of IT professional: Please note this constitutes very less percentage of IT workforce.
Because like other areas we find all kind of people in IT industry too. So,

1. Many IT workers bent upon making money grabbing everything coming into their way. This greed has led to heavy investment in Real estate, Share market and mutual funds.

Now that recession has hit, this segment of workers are worst hit if they loose their job. This in turn hitting banking sector, real estate and finance sector as whole.

2. Due to high salary given to IT engineer, the greed has creeped into them and most of them expect unreasonable salary hikes and career growth which has also taken toll on industry and them selves too.

Hence, I believe current recession is due to greed (individuals and company s), short sighted vision of companies and lack of social responsibility of industry.

So, do not blame only IT professionals.

‘Work Culture’ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ, ನೀವು ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು. ನೀವು ನಿಷ್ಪಕ್ಷಪಾತವಾಗಿ ಹಾಗು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ಒಂದು ವಿಷಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಬರೆಯಬೇಕು.
‘Social Responsibility’ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಂಕಣ ಬಹಳ ಜನ ಓದಿ ಅರ್ಥೈಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅದು ಸಮಾಜದ ಮೇಲೆ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರುತ್ತೆ.
‘Ethics’ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಅದು ಒಂದು ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಅನೇಕ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನಗಳಿಂದ ನೋಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೆ.

ನೀವು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಲೇಖಕ, ಹೆಸರು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ‘ರವಿ ಬೆಳಗೆರೆ’ ತರ ಆಗ್ಬೇಡಿ. ಈಗ ಬೆಳಗೆರೆ,ಅವನ ಬಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಹೇಳುವದಾದರೆ ‘ಮುಟ್ಟು ನಿಂತ ಹೆಂಗಸು’ ! ನೀವು ಹಾಗೆ ಆಗಬೇಡಿ.

ಪ್ರತಾಪ್ ಸಿಂಹ ಅವರ ಲೇಖನ ಕಟುಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಐಟಿ ಉದ್ಯಮದ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಇವತ್ತು ಒಬಾಮ ಹಂತ ಹಂತವಾಗಿ outsourcing ಅನ್ನು ವಿರೋಧಿಸುತ್ತ ಬಂದರೆ ಇವತ್ತಿನ IT professional ಗಳು ಉದ್ಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಯಾರು ಉದ್ಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೆ? ಇಂದು software ಓದುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಯಾರು ಮುಂದೆ ಉದ್ಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ? ಇದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮೂರ್ತಿ, ನಿಲೇಕಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೇಂಜಿ ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ?
ಇದು ಲಕ್ಷಾಂತರ IT professional ಗಳು ವಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇವತ್ತಿನ ಯಾವ IT ಪಂಡಿತರೂ ಇಂಥ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಬರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಎದುರಿಸುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಯಾರಿ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ವರ್ಲ್ಡ್ is flat ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದ್ದವರು ತಲೆಕೆಳಗೂ ಆಗಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಎಣಿಸಿರಲಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲ!!!

ನಿಮ್ಮ article (ಕುರುಡು ಕಾಂಚನ…) ತುಂಬಾ ವಾಸ್ತವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮೂಡಿ ಬಂದಿದೆ , ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಿದಿರುವ ಕೆಲವರ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಜನರ ಯೋಚನಾ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಎಷ್ಟು ಕೆಳಮಟ್ಟದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ. ದುಡ್ಡು ಬಂದಾಗ ಕೂಡಿಡುವ ಯೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡದೇ ನೀರಿನಂತೆ ಚೆಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗ ಕೆಲಸ ಹೋಗುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭ ಬಂದಾಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬರಹ ಅವರಿಗೆ “ಉರಿಯುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಗೆ ತುಪ್ಪ ಸುರಿದಂತೆ” ಆಗದೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆಯ?

ಈಗ ವಿಷಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರೋಣ ಈ software engineer ಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ ಲಕ್ಷಗಟ್ಟಲೆ ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುವವರು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರು ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ? ಇದ್ದಾರೆ, ಆದರೆ ಅವರಿಂದ ಅರ್ಥಿಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ತೊಂದರೆ ಆಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ , ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಹಾಗು ಹಣ ಯಾವ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಬೇಕು ಅನ್ನುವುದು ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. software ಗಳ್ಳನ್ನು ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿ ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವುದೇ sector ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರ / ಹಣ ಅಷ್ಟು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಅವರ ಅನುಭವದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಗು ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ so called software engineer ಗಳಿಗೆ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಕೊನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವಾಗಲೇ ಕೆಲಸ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ದುಡ್ಡಿನ ಬೆಲೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗುವ ಮೊದಲೇ ಲಕ್ಷಗಟ್ಟಲೆ ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಬೇಕೋ ಹಾಗೆ ಕರ್ಚು ಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರಾರಂಬಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ : ಲಕ್ಷಗಟ್ಟಲೆ ಸಂಪದಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ ನೂರರ ಬೆಲೆ ಹೇಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಬೇಕು? ನೂರು ರೂ ಮೌಲ್ಯದ ವಸ್ತುವಿಗೆ ಸಾವಿರ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು ಆ ವಸ್ತುವಿನ ಮೌಲ್ಯ ಅಸ್ಟು ಇದೆಯೇ ಎಂದು ವಿಚಾರಿಸದೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ.ಇದು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆ ಯಾವ ರೀತಿಯ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೇನು ಗೊತ್ತು? why they should bother for all these things , they have the money they will spend. ಅಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ದುಡ್ಡು ನಾನು ಹೇಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದರು ಕರ್ಚು ಮಾಡ್ತೀನಿ ನಿಮ್ ಹತ್ರ ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಣೆ ಬರಹ ಅನ್ನೋ mentality ಅವರದ್ದು.

ನಿಮ್ಮ ದುಡ್ಡಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರತಾಪ್ ಸಿಂಹ ರವರಿಗೆ ಏಕೆ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ಉರಿ ? ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಜನರ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ಉರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇರುವವರು ನೀವು. ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಅವರವರ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಕಷ್ಟ ಪಟ್ಟೆ ಮಾಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ ಆದರೆ software ಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಯಾಕಿಷ್ಟು ಸಂಬಳ,, ಒಬ್ಬ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ಥನನ್ನೇ ತೆಗಿದುಕೊಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ವಿಷಯ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸುವ ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಜೀವವನ್ನೇ ಒತ್ತೆ ಇದಬೇಕಗುತ್ತದೆ, ಎಸ್ಟೋ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಹಗಲು ಅನ್ನುವ ಪರಿವೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ದುಡಿಯಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಆದರೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ಸಂಬಳ ಎಷ್ಟು??? ಯಾಕೆ ಅವರ ದುಡಿಮೆಗೆ ಬೆಲೆ ಇಲ್ಲವ?? ಈಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಜೀವ ಉಳಿಸಿವ Doctor ಗಲ್ಲನ್ನೇ ತೆಗಿದುಕೊಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಎಷ್ಟು ಕಷ್ಟ ಪಟ್ಟು ಓದುತ್ತಾರೆ ಜೀವ ಉಳಿಸಲು ಹಗಲು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಕಷ್ಟ ಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೇ? ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದ ಸೈನಿಕರು/ ಪೋಲಿಸ್ ತಮ್ಮ ಜೀವವನ್ನೇ ಒತ್ತೆ ಇಟ್ಟು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಕಾಪಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಅವರಿಗೆಸ್ತು ಸಂಬಳ? ಯಾಕೆ ಅವರುಗಳು ಕಷ್ಟ ಪಟ್ಟು ದುಡಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲವ? ಇವರೆಲ್ಲ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶ ಉದ್ದಾರ ಮಾಡಲು ದುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ ಆದರೆ ನೀವುಗಳು ಹಣದ ಆಸೆಗೆ ಯಾವುದೊ ದೇಶ ಉದ್ದಾರ ಮಾಡಲು ಹಗಲು ರಾತ್ರಿ ದುಡಿಯುತ್ತಿರ.

Bangalore ಇವತ್ತಿನ ಸ್ತಿತಿಗೆ IT ಕಾರಣ, software engineer ಗಳು ಮಾಡೋದು ಮಾತ್ರ ಕೆಲಸ ಬೇರೆಯಾವ ಕೆಲಸ ಕೆಲ್ಸನೆ ಅಲ್ಲ ಅನ್ನೋ Mentality ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡಿಸಿದ ಕಾರಣ ಇವತ್ತು software ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜನರಿಗೆ soft corner ಇಲ್ಲವಾಗಿದೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನೆವುಗಳೇ ಕಾರಣ ನೀವು ಸಂಬಳ ಎಷ್ಟಾದರೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿ ಆದರೆ ಅದರಿಂದ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರ ಜೀವನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರದಂತೆ ನೀವು ನೋಡಿ ಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಿದರೆ ಈಗ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು support ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಇನ್ನಾದರೂ ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತುಕೊಳ್ಳಿ ಜನರ ಹಾಗು ದೇಶದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯೋಚಿಸಿ.

grt article by pratap simha………..these it people make parties and tey r the people who started pub and bar culture……..these people always complains about bad roads etc…….but they r not willing to help poor children……….tey will make big parties every week and they have no systematic culture ie no of divorces and culprit cases r more……….

right thing have happened to them at the right time……….

What the readers have expressed is also biased….. most of the readers have commented on your opinion about techies but not about your concern for the need of Indian IT companies to work on R&D……. we should look at the writers writing from a broader perspective which is genuinely issue based and IT employees are quoted only to explain the issue……

I had read couple of your other articles and felt that the articles were pretty good… But recently when I read this new article, I was totally disappointed.

Even though few of your points are really true, the way you have gone about writing the article seems really pathetic and not well thought out. Its like our Masala Bollywood movies with less of truth and more of nonsense.

Anything in life has both positives and negatives and so has IT impact in India. Surely there were so many benefited from it while it has caused negative impact on some others. You cannot ignore all the good things and highlight only the darker part of it. Im sure all the ones who are negatively impacted by IT are here to praise your article…

Being candid doest mean that you can write any crap what comes to your mind… especially, when you know that you are reaching out to so many people through your articles… So think ten times before you make (especially generalized) statements… Instead of posting comment later to explain what you really mean (patch up job), its better you write articles in a manner where it speaks for itself.

Dear Pratap,
Do good research before writing down something because readers wait for your article every satuarday. I am from Malanadu. I am not techi. but know their struggle. They have sleepless nights, work load, tension. Any indian or outside company are not so stupid to pay high. They extract whatever they could from techies, so no need for techies to be faithful to those companies. Today what our politicians starting from munciple cousilor to PM making money is the direct contribution of hard work of these these techies. I found 90% of young generation is blaming IT guys which is hiden agenda of jealousy. Some readers have pointed out that “If they are not like other techies then why should they feel bad and raise vioce against Pratap” You guys always support when Pratap writes against Aravind Adiga , Millioner Slum dog etc.If slum is sporadic in India then why do you raise vioce against such books , films ? If you are not in slum don’t raise vioce against such things.
Dear pratap, you are vioce of Hindus. Don,t shift your thoughts.

Hi Pratap,

I am forced by my friends to read your column. Its great that you have mentioned, how IT and BT affected to our culture.
My Point is- Only IT or BT people is not responsible for what’s happening in our envn. Everyone is contributing themselves either directly or indirectly for everything.
You have just bombarded about the IT guy. Do you know how much effort he/she has put to become an engineer. Why all cant become Engineer or Doctors. Few cant even pass 10 or 12. Bcz they( who dint pass) enjoy and waste thier time at that point of period, which engineers or doctors or any high profile people wont do. Finally after their education they are deserves to get high pay.

Tmr if your son or daughter reads well, will you make them a high profile graduate or not? If they get more salary, does it mean that they are going to spoil culture.
Not yet all… All fingures are not equal. Your words wont imply to all IT likes including me.

You told that, in few places including coorg HOMESTAY kind of thing is started. Do u want the people of this place to be still where they where before 10yrs. In City, technology improves, more jobs, more salary. etc etc.. Day to day daily needs getting costly, what these people should do for their source of income. Only agriculture is not source of income. If no rain, what the farmer will do? Will you politician will help this poor farmer for his needs. He needs to look for the alternative for the safe to avoid the count of farmers death.
Which one you want, count of farmers death or farmers homestay kind of stuff which provides him food and shelter during bad time.

Kindly accept that few things are going wrong by IT guys, but again Everythign is not from IT guys.

I completely agree with your points regarding marriage market [:D]….I personally being doctorate in science and doing research in abroad, has faced lot of problem to get bride. Since people in Karnataka know only IT professionals and professionals like me are not been considered.

If an IT guy dropped from his work, it circuitously harms an Unloading & loading guy in the market.

Splendid..I really like the way you write and ‘am one of your fan.

One important thing I like is the way you have connected IT and marriage.Coming from the district of Uttarkannada I have seen many instances related to this.Even a girl who has just studied upto SSLc dream of getting married to a IT guy…..she may not the full form of IT though.

The situation is that,it does not matter how much land you have…the only thing that matters is IT and Bangalore for marriage.

It’s false notion about IT people made you to write this article.I agree they ll spend money lavishly till they get married after that they ll get responsibility, and regarding work culture the stress level due to dead line for project is high so they ve to ve some enjoyment.
You mentioned about some great people ya really they are great but why did’t their descendants names(for some good cause) did’t appear after that in history….?
