i donot know why people are disucssing on Laloo and Railways.It is not a big deal anyway to bring a monopoly into profits or fudge something to show it.The challenge is to generate profits where there is competition.If at all Laloo,rather people around him in Railways,has shown is how to manage media.I had a regret in my life,not getting into IIM’s.After Laloo visited IIM,I am out of my sorrow,as I realized that all hype surrounding IIM is artificial.When you go to any railaway station,the first things that greet you are the mountains of shit on railway tracks.Laloo is no beteer than those.How he has improved railways and getting publicity is still a mystery to me.BTW,have any one of you seen the pantry in train and how clean it is?

Lalu was always lucky to be in power even when he was in Jail, ruled Bihar thro his wife!! He is like another scoundrel Devegowda, does any cheap act for power. That is how he gets prize from Pakistan govt.

Prasanna rightly pointed out, Gandhi was a mass murdrer of ‘Kshatra-Tejas’ in Indians. I strongly support that and say we never got freedom just because of Gandhi. The fact that Britts were in great loss from IInd WW could not maintain (already looted) poor India and gave-up.

There are so many…Since these r recent ones i Quoted them.(Because there are few who claim that he was bad previously but now he has improved)
But just look at these two.A corrupt person supporting A banned organisation..How dangerous it is ,supporting such persons?They will be ready to compromise internal security for minting money.
And u know what he did to Bihar when he was in power there.
So please dont support such corrupt dangerous politician.
Coming to Indian Railways….
From Annual Reports and Accounts of Indian Railways (From 1950 to 1998)
There was no year in the past since 1950 as the loosing year except in 1970 – 71 and 1980 – 81 when the losses were19.84 crores and 197.87 crores respectively and the operating ratio in 1970 – 71 and 1980 – 81 were 84.13% and 96.07% respectively.
In 1994 – 95, 1995 -96, 1996 – 97 and 1997 – 98 the excess were Rs 2,445.40 crores, Rs. 2,870.63 crores, Rs.2,117.06 crores and Rs. 1,535.22 crores respectively.
The operating ratio and net revenues had reached low levels of performance in 2000-01 (98.3%) but then had consistentlyimproved till 2005-06 (83.7%).(i.e just before lalu became RM)
Supreme Court Ruling in November 2005 which banned overloading of road transport vehicles helped railways. It shifted the freight business (mostly of cement and steel ) to the railways and that resulted in the sharp rise in freight revenue of the IR in the years 2006 and 2007.
So in short Lalu was lucky that he was RM in the right time.Even if others would have become RM ,Railways would have recorded HUGE PROFITS in the above said period.

ur articles have been brilliant but very biased. my thinking about u will never change that ur an hindu fundamentalist.
i hate both hindu and muslim fundamentalistic views and values.
and i understand that u r a stanch fallower of RSS/BJP/VHP & all such BJP wings. u continue to support them. u people can never see any positive qualities in people like V P Singh (who sacrifised) his govenment for passing recommendations of mandal commission , and getting level playing field 4 weaker section of society. u peole never hav apriciated lalu for his splendid work instead u tried to figure him as if he is a illitrate, uncultured and d only currupt. but u could not stop him from bringing a structural changes in indian railways.
u people hav always tried to divide hindu muslim simplly to get lead for fundamentalist party.
lastly, I want to say that, you have only few readers of your articles, who change their name every now and then. some times i can seriuosly guess that most of the time comments are given by Pratap himself but by somebody’s name. I say this because of the language and style of the written comments. Be sincere in your work pratap.
