Very rightly said. I also felt very uncomfortable reading the book. It depicts India as a land of animals and snake charmers, which I beg to differ. Rightly said, India has survived the test of time and has emerged as a world leader in terms of economic and intellectual growth. Adiga needs to ponder more on this.

ಅಡಿಗ ಓದಿದ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ದುಡ್ಡು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಸರಿ, ಒಪ್ಪುವಂತಹ ಕೆಲಸವೇ, ಬುಕ್ ಬರೆದು ಅಂಟಿದ ಪಾಪವನ್ನು ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಆಸೆ ಅಷ್ಟೆ.
ಅಡಿಗರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವೈಯುಕ್ತಿಕವಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ದ್ವೇಷವಿಲ್ಲ , ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯಾರಾದರು ಕೆಟ್ಟದಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರೆ ನೀವು ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಇರ್ತಿರಾ?

I had the shock of my life when i saw the film Indiana jones, wherein indians were potrayed as tribals, snake charmers and snake eaters(alive).aarghhh….
With a lot of outsourcing to India, the strides India has made in the IT sector, the acquisitions of foreign companies by the Tata’s and Mittal’s and the latest chandrayaan, we have made a GLOBAL presence. So, anybody who derives joy from reading Namma mangalore hudugana version of India will be in for a rude shock seeing India in the times to come. I personally have nothing against namma huduga. Well, in future he might write about the true spirit of india, how this ancient civilization still exists and thrives.

“People are dynamic and different from each other. So you cannot generalize saying that whole country is bad”. Yes,itz valid point. But why do you forget this important message while critizing any muslim or christian religion ppl/nation? At that time,why no one objects about so called “Generalization”. I dont like to defend Adiga or anybody hre but we ppl should be ready to accept some of the bad truths of our society and need to correctify those mistakes.
